Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle-Chapter 1055: Victory
The golems destroyed a part of the wall, but they were also crushed by the World Tree’s roots...
Lord Khan, Commander Cross, and Master Ren gathered at the rear of their hesitating army. Their faces were pale, as they knew that they could no longer continue this battle.
Even if they still have several tricks up their sleeves, if those roots were to come out again, then it would be impossible for them to win!
The Alliance believed that those Golems would at least help them reach the Inner Wall of the Eclipse Domain. However, since they barely managed to move forward from the Outer Wall, then they must accept their defeat!
"We cannot win this," Khan shouted as he knew that they had to cut their losses now. "Not today."
Cross clenched his shield as he couldn’t agree more. "If we stay, we will all just die here. If we retreat, at least we live to fight another day."
Ren just nodded as he had been prepared to escape ever since the Exosuit Users had appeared.
"Then let’s use the pills. The escape route is all that remains."
From within their armor, each leader withdrew a small jade vial. Inside were precious pills, crafted from rare alchemical ingredients and only a Legendary Alchemist could create.
These were not meant for battle but for survival, a last resort when defeat was inevitable.
Without hesitation, the three swallowed the pills.
A surge of power coursed through their veins.
Their bodies trembled as their sealed Survivor Skills could be activated once again. It managed to break through the suppression field that had crippled their armies.
Boom!
Lightning crackled around Khan once more, Cross’s shield glowed with radiant energy, and Ren’s Water Sword Style flowed back into his blade!
But instead of turning their renewed strength against the defenders, they used it to escape.
"Cover us!" Khan roared, though his voice carried no conviction.
He leapt into the air with lightning propelling him across the battlefield. Cross slammed his shield into the ground, creating a barrier that deflected incoming fire just long enough for him to retreat. Ren vanished into a blur of water and mist, slipping past the defenders with incredible speed.
Their warriors watched in shock as their leaders fled.
"Lord Khan...?" one Thunder Roar fighter gasped, disbelief etched across his face.
"They’re leaving us!" cried a Crimson Shield soldier, his tower shield started trembling under the weight of turret fire.
Ren’s own disciples were lost for words as their morale shattered when they realized that their master had abandoned them.
The defenders of Eclipse Domain pressed forward mercilessly.
"Haha!"
"End them!"
"Kill!"
The Warden Units advanced in perfect formation, rifles blazing before switching seamlessly to silver swords. The Combat Exosuit Brigade surged behind them, their Squad Link Protocol ensured every volley struck their target!
Survivors from the Alliance clans fought desperately, swinging blades and firing rifles, but without their Skills, they were hopelessly outmatched.
One by one, they fell..
Thunder Roar warriors shouted while they were electrocuted by their own malfunctioning weapons. Crimson Shield soldiers were crushed beneath the advance of the Warden Units... Then, the River Flow fighters also fought back with their swords, but it was simply not enough!
The battlefield became a slaughter. Soon, one of them had had enough.
"We surrender!"
"Please stop!"
"We’re throwing our weapons!"
"Surrender! Surrender! Don’t kill me!"
The cries of surrender echoed across the battlefield.
The Warden Units halted for a moment with their raised but unmoving. The Combat Exosuit Brigade also slowed. For a brief moment, the battlefield froze in eerie silence.
The soldiers of Eclipse Domain waited... Apparently, their superiors, who had been observing the battlefield all this time, were giving instructions through their comms.
Soon, the commander of the Combat Exosuit Brigade spoke up! 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Hold your fire. Accept surrender. Those who put down their weapons will live."
The order spread instantly through the ranks.
"Drop your weapons!"
"Lay down your arms if you want to survive!"
The Alliance survivors hesitated, fear and disbelief etched across their faces. But as the exosuits raised their rifles again, the choice became clear.
One by one, blades clattered to the ground. Rifles were tossed aside. Tower shields were lowered. The battlefield became littered with discarded weapons as men and women raised their hands in surrender.
Thanks to the brave 10 or so people who were shouting to surrender, they were all given a second chance!
It didn’t take that long before the captured people were gathered in front of the Eclipse Domain.
From the original three thousand attackers, only about one thousand remained to be captured.
Another five hundred, positioned at the far rear, managed to flee into the wilderness, their retreat covered by distance and chaos.
The rest, nearly half the invading force, lay dead across the field. They were victims of Eclipse Domain’s merciless defense.
The Super Soldiers, Knights, and other warriors finally came out of the shelter, binding the surrendered warriors...
"You chose wisely... refusing to surrender would have meant certain death."
"Stay calm. As long as none of you are guilty of heinous crimes, your lives are safe."
"Behave yourselves. You’ll be held in prison for at least thirty days. After that, you’ll be judged to see if you qualify as Class 3 citizens. Don’t lose hope."
The knights spoke, trying to reassure the captured enemies. It was also a tactic to keep the crowd under control. After all, offering a measure of hope made it easier to manage them.
Soon, they were herded into controlled zones, ensuring none could escape. The prisoners were stripped of their mystical items, armor, or weapons.
They would have to be imprisoned... However, since there were simply too many of them, the New Genesis Shelter must take most of them through the portal...
Still, the imprisonment would only last for a month or so because of Shane’s talent, so even if it seemed surprising to others, this would benefit him in the long run.
"That’s a lot easier than I thought..." Diana muttered.
