Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All-Chapter 826: Eat That Frog
Chapter 826: Chapter 826: Eat That Frog
But the blue-haired girl beside her? She was no fool.
She looked at Qiao Li for a long moment, then gave a soft sigh.
"You know," she said slowly, "I have a feeling this ’friend’ you’re talking about... is you."
Qiao Li stiffened.
The blue-haired girl smiled, not in a teasing way, but like she just knew. Still, she didn’t push.
"Anyway," she said, stretching her arms, "a new professor is coming to our class today. You should definitely attend."
Qiao Li blinked. "Why?"
The girl grinned. "’Cause he’s supposed to be suuuper handsome."
Qiao Li rolled her eyes hard. "I’m not interested."
"Oh come on," the girl groaned. "Just because one fish in the ocean bit you doesn’t mean you throw away the whole ocean!"
Qiao Li blushed. "I didn’t—! I’m not throwing anything away!"
The blue-haired girl, who had decided her name should be Yoyo, didn’t even listen. She grabbed Qiao Li’s wrist and stood up.
"Nope. You’re coming with me," Yoyo said. "Cute boys heal all wounds."
Qiao Li groaned but followed, and the rest of the friend group laughed and followed behind them into the classroom.
They all sat down near the middle row, whispering and giggling while waiting for the new professor to arrive.
Then suddenly—
GASP!
A girl near the front row clutched her phone and nearly dropped it. "GUYS!" she whispered loudly. "Check the campus forum! A SUPER HOT professor just joined today!"
In less than a second, phones were flying out of bags and pockets like magic. Everyone was scrolling, eyes wide.
"Oh my gosh, he’s so hot!""He’s like a model!""I don’t care if he fails me, I’ll still marry him!""I’ll even be his mistress if I have to!"
Qiao Li stared at them in disbelief. "You all are insane," she muttered.
Even though part of her was a teeny bit curious... she didn’t open the forum.
Nope, she thought. I’m not like them. I’m not gonna drool over some guy I haven’t even met.
Suddenly, another shout came.
"He’s heading this way! HE’S COMING TO OUR CLASS!"
Boom. Panic.
Almost 80% of the girls in the class stood up like robots, flipping open mirrors, reapplying lip balm, fixing their ponytails, fluffing their bangs.
Yoyo was pulling her hoodie off to show more of her cute top. "Qiao Li, help me tuck in my hair behind my ear. Do I look elegant?"
Qiao Li rolled her eyes. "You look like you’re about to beg."
Yoyo ignored her. "Better to beg than be single forever."
And then—
Click.
The classroom door opened.
Everyone went quiet.
All eyes turned to the door... and in walked a tall, well-dressed young man with neat hair, glasses, and a soft smile that screamed: I’m gentle... but I can destroy your peace.
And Qiao Li?
Her whole body froze.
Her eyes widened.
Her jaw dropped.
No. Freaking. Way.
It was... OU LIN.
Standing at the front of the classroom.
Wearing professor clothes. With professor glasses. Giving off that annoying, "I’m calm and collected" energy.
Qiao Li shot up from her seat like she’d been electrocuted.
"WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
Dead silence.
All heads turned to Qiao Li.
Some girls looked confused.
Others looked... interested.
Ou Lin calmly adjusted his glasses and looked right at her.
"If Miss Qiao Li has questions," he said in that gentle-teacher voice, "she can visit me in my staff room. I’ll be happy to explain anything to her."
The whole class stared.
Qiao Li’s face turned red.
She slowly sat back down, wanting to shrink into a mouse hole.
Ou Lin noticed the awkward silence after his words, and he quickly stepped in before Qiao Li could fully melt into her seat.
"Alright, everyone," he said in a calm and clear voice, clapping his hands once. "Let’s all take our seats and get started."
The girls who were whispering or fixing their hair sat down quickly. A few of them kept glancing at him with big dreamy eyes, but he ignored it.
"My name is Mr. Ou," he said, standing straight in front of the board. "And I’ll be your biology teacher starting today."
Some students looked excited. Others just blinked, clearly still shocked that their new professor looked like a model.
Ou Lin continued, "Today, we’ll begin with a special topic — something I know most of you are curious about. Cosmetics."
Everyone sat up straighter.
"More specifically," he said, writing on the board, "the important ingredients used in skincare and makeup, and how they affect the skin."
He spoke slowly, carefully, making sure everyone could understand. He explained every term like he had studied them for years — things like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, retinol.
Even the students who usually got bored in science were scribbling notes.
Qiao Li sat there, stunned.
Wait a second, she thought. How does he even know this stuff? Isn’t he a business guy? He’s never even opened a cosmetic company... right?
She found herself taking notes without realizing it.
Ou Lin’s voice was calm and steady, and his explanations were really clear. She could actually understand everything.
Dang it, she thought. He’s actually... good at this.
When the lecture was done, Ou Lin smiled and asked, "Any questions?"
A girl in the back raised her hand quickly.
Ou Lin nodded at her. "Yes?"
The girl stood up, twirling her pen. "Can I have your phone number, sir?"
Everyone gasped, and then a wave of giggles and whistles filled the classroom.
"She’s so bold!""That’s genius!""She’s got courage!"
Ou Lin didn’t laugh.
He turned to look at Qiao Li — who was staring at the bold girl with a weird expression in her eyes.
He smiled gently, then turned back to the girl.
"I’m sorry," he said. "I’m unavailable."
The girl pouted. "Aww... who’s the lucky girl?"
And right at that moment, Ou Lin looked straight at Qiao Li again.
She panicked.
She quickly ducked behind her desk and pretended she dropped her pen.
Ou Lin’s voice was calm. "She’s my childhood sweetheart."
The class went silent.
Then someone whispered loudly, "Ugh, why are all the good guys taken by childhood sweethearts?!"
Everyone burst out laughing.
Ou Lin just smiled softly, turned around, and walked out of the classroom like none of that bothered him.
Qiao Li peeked up from under her desk, face red and full of frustration.
What. The. Heck.
Didn’t he say he was staying in the Qiao mansion to take care of her mom?
Then why is he teaching biology in my COLLEGE?!
She wanted answers.
But she also didn’t want to go anywhere near him.
Not after that whole sweetheart mess.
Beside her, Yoyo grinned and elbowed her.
"If that guy is a red flag," Yoyo said dreamily, "then I’ll happily ignore the flag."
Qiao Li rolled her eyes. "What if the red flag ignores you forever?"
Yoyo laughed. "Then I’ll chase him until he notices me. He’s clearly rich, just look at that watch!"
Qiao Li grumbled and crossed her arms.
Yoyo, seeing her annoyed face, felt satisfied.
She knew something was going on between that professor and Qiao Li. But since Qiao Li wasn’t ready to talk, teasing her a little was fun payback.
After college ended, Qiao Li packed up her things and was about to leave when her phone buzzed.
It was a message from her college senior.
Senior Wang:
Hey, remember what I said? If you want to move on, give me one chance.Want to go to the library together today?
Qiao Li stared at the message.
She hesitated. But then she remembered...
If I really want to move on from Ou Lin... maybe I should try.
So she replied:Sure. I’ll meet you there.
A little while later, Qiao Li met her senior in the quiet college library. freeweɓnovel~cѳm
He was kind and polite, smiling as he handed her a book.
They talked softly, sitting close. Not too close, but close enough that someone watching might think they were on a date.
What Qiao Li didn’t know... was that someone was watching.
From behind a row of tall bookshelves, Ou Lin stood completely still, his eyes locked on them.
His face had turned cold.
His jaw clenched tightly.
He hated seeing Qiao Li with another guy.
Why is she here with him?
Why is she smiling at him like that?
But even though his insides were boiling... he didn’t move forward.
Because he knew.
He had no right to stop her.
No power.
No claim over her heart.
All he could do... was watch.
Others don’t know, but even jealousy was a privilege.
Qiao Li looked senior Wang with a forced smile as he tried to make small talks,
"So what type of books do you like to read?"
Reading? Ou Lin snorted. Qiao Li doesn’t like to read! From childhood till now, the one thing that Qiao Li hated with passion was reading.
He watched as Qiao Li said with a stiff smile,
"Eat that frog."
