Ghost Catching System-Chapter 634 - 633 Immortal Water Cannon Barrage_1
The Warty Toad looked at Chu Hao and spat out a glob of saliva. Although Chu Hao dodged, his clothes were still hit.
Chu Hao cursed angrily, "Warty Toad, what are you doing?"
The Warty Toad retorted angrily, "I bestow upon you a face full of Immortal Water."
Chu Hao instantly became furious. "To hell with your Immortal Water!" he snarled, taking out his Ritian Stick and smashing it down hard.
"BANG!" The floor cracked where the Warty Toad had narrowly avoided the stick.
The Warty Toad hopped up, jumped onto the bookshelf, and said, "Kiddo, are you trying to murder His Majesty?"
Chu Hao, with a dark expression, said, "Is spitting your job? You Warty Toad, aren't you disgusting?"
"Pah! I am not a Warty Toad! I spit—"
Another green glob flew towards Chu Hao, aimed straight at his face. This time, prepared for it, he dodged the spit and swung his stick.
The Warty Toad cried out in alarm, "Are you for real?"
Chu Hao shouted furiously, "What status does this Taoist Master have? To think that one day, I'd be spat on by a Warty Toad."
"Damn it! His Majesty will spit you to death!"
A ruckus broke out in the room. It had to be said that the Warty Toad was very quick, but Chu Hao was fast as well, dodging its saliva.
With a strange cry, the Warty Toad puffed up its cheeks and declared, "Immortal Water Gatling Spit, I spit and spit and spit..."
Chu Hao's expression changed immediately. This Warty Toad was utterly repulsive; what it called the Immortal Water Gatling Spit was clearly just a series of saliva sprays directed at him.
Chu Hao quickly picked up a table to shield himself. Saliva struck the table, making a series of BANG BANG BANG sounds, similar to machine gun fire.
"KNOCK KNOCK! Young friend Chu, are you there?" Mu Yue's voice came from outside the door.
The Warty Toad then stopped and vanished in a flash.
Chu Hao put down the table and looked around the messy room, his face full of frustration. What a ridiculous situation, battling with a Warty Toad in a spit war! If word got out, how could Brother Hao maintain his reputation?
Chu Hao opened the door and peeked out his head, asking, "What's up?"
Mu Yue was curious. She had just finished bathing when she heard a commotion from next door. What was Chu Hao doing alone in his room? So she came over to ask.
Mu Yue said with a smile, "I heard someone causing a ruckus just now and thought something happened to you."
Chu Hao replied, "Thanks for your concern, but I'm fine."
Mu Yue nodded. "It's still early. Do you want to take a walk outside?"
The Warty Toad's voice came into Chu Hao's mind, "See? She totally wants to sleep with you. My intuition is always sharp."
Chu Hao said, "Hold on a moment."
With that, he closed the door and looked disdainfully at the Warty Toad, saying, "Bye-bye! I'm heading out with a beauty, so you just stay here."
The Warty Toad quickly said, "Take me with you!"
Chu Hao, not wanting to bother with it at all, replied, "Why would I bring you? You're just a nuisance."
"Damn it!"
Chu Hao closed the door and went down with Mu Yue in the elevator.
"Where shall we go?" Chu Hao asked.
Mu Yue walked shoulder to shoulder with Chu Hao and said, "My clothes got dirty today, so I want to buy a new outfit. Sorry to disturb you."
Chu Hao had wanted to go out anyway, since having a spit war with that Warty Toad inside wasn't exactly ideal, so he said, "No problem."
The two left the hotel. There was a clothing store right across the street. After entering, Mu Yue started to choose her clothes.
After a while, Mu Yue called out to him, "Little Chu, come over here and tell me what you think of this dress?"
Chu Hao walked over. The fitting room was spacious and had a large mirror. When he entered, he saw Mu Yue wearing a long black lace dress. Only a web-like piece of fabric covered her bust and the area below her waist and hips, leaving little to the imagination.
Chu Hao was baffled. Had the Warty Toad actually been right? Was this woman trying to rob the cradle?
Chu Hao awkwardly said, "This... this dress is quite nice."
Mu Yue blinked, twirled around—a stunning sight—and asked, "Does it look good?"
Chu Hao replied woodenly, "It looks good."
Suddenly, Chu Hao bit his tongue. He immediately felt much clearer, a look of confusion on his face. It wasn't that he had never seen a woman before; the beautiful women he had encountered could certainly make Mu Yue look plain by comparison. Yet just now, he had been so enchanted that he nearly wanted to pounce on her.
Chu Hao, puzzled, said, "It's too cold for that kind of dress. It's not suitable."
With that, he walked out.
Seeing Chu Hao leave, Mu Yue's initially smiling face turned slightly somber.
A large black spider crawled onto Mu Yue's shoulder. Mu Yue's voice changed, becoming sharper and extremely cold as she said, "I didn't expect his willpower to be so strong."
Then, Mu Yue's original voice returned, coldly saying, "This little guy, he actually managed to break my charm spell."
"Be careful not to let him notice. Don't make a move for now," one voice advised.
"Hmm," affirmed the other.
Chu Hao left the dressing room. The more he thought about it, the more something seemed off. Suddenly, his expression changed. Could it have been some kind of enchantment?
It must have been. Just now, his mind had been unstable, and he nearly pounced without any conscious thought or hesitation.
Chu Hao's expression darkened. None of these people are any good, he thought. They're all out to get me.
When he saw Mu Yue come out, Chu Hao composed himself, walked over to her with a smile, and said, "I'll come looking for you tonight."
After saying this, he turned and left.
Mu Yue was startled, then smiled, saying, "Hooked. You're going to have a feast tonight."
Another voice also let out a strange laugh.
At around eleven o'clock in the evening, the Warty Toad was still watching TV. It seemed upset that Chu Hao hadn't taken it with him, its small eyes looking as forlorn as an orphan's.
Chu Hao cheerfully said, "Warty Toad, would you like to spend the night with a beauty?"
The Warty Toad, squatting on the sofa, turned its head at these words and asked, "Spend the night? What are you up to, kid?"
Chu Hao said, "You actually guessed right. That old woman wants to sleep with me, but I have a way to make you look just like me so you can play with her all night long."
The Warty Toad suddenly jumped up high, even hitting the ceiling. "OUCH!" It fell to the ground, clutching its head excitedly as it said, "Are you serious? Haha... Kiddo Chu, His Majesty indeed wasn't mistaken about you."
"Excited, aren't you?" asked Chu Hao.
The Warty Toad opened its mouth, sticking out its tongue like a dog, and said, "Of course I'm excited."
Chu Hao said, "I'm doing you such a big favor; shouldn't you give me something to thank me with?"
The Warty Toad asked, "Kid, what do you want?"
"Give me the Treasure Jade," Chu Hao demanded.
The Warty Toad hesitated. The Treasure Jade still meant something to it, and it didn't want to hand it over to Chu Hao so easily.
Chu Hao shrugged and said, "Opportunities like these are rare. If you don't want to seize it, then forget it."
After making what seemed like a significant decision, the Warty Toad said, "Fine, I'll give it to you."
Saying this, it spat out the Treasure Jade. Chu Hao caught it with a prepared tissue, clearly disgusted by its saliva. The Warty Toad looked dissatisfied.
Chu Hao wiped the Treasure Jade clean, and immediately the System notification came: "A fragmented Treasure Jade of scarce energy can be exchanged for three thousand Pretentiousness Points."
