Getting Stronger By Fighting-Chapter 504: Abnormality_1
So, Wang Zhan certainly wasn’t going to foolishly tell the Old Man that it could essentially be considered one of his clones. Instead, he immediately concocted a lie.
"...Actually, that’s a friend of mine. He has a bloodline talent that allows him to change his appearance and simulate others’ auras, even their bloodlines, to the point of being indistinguishable from the real thing..."
This way, the Old Man seemed to completely understand and stopped doubting. After all, while this kind of bloodline talent was rare, it was quite common among some of the Federation’s recorded bloodline talents. With so many Martial Artists in the world and numerous unknowns on the path of martial arts, possessing such a Talent wasn’t inherently difficult to comprehend. It was easy to grasp with just a little explanation.
Therefore, the Old Man stopped dwelling on this and told Wang Zhan immediately, "Let’s just leave it at that! Leave your clone by that boy’s side, and we’ll set off immediately."
Their real destination was Quan State, and they had already wasted considerable time getting here. If it weren’t for the trouble Wang Zhan had stirred up along the way, the Old Man wouldn’t have agreed to this detour.
Wang Zhan nodded and dispatched his clone. In a small cave within the vast, boundless, and extensive wilderness, he found the little brat named Three Seven.
At this moment, Three Seven was hiding in the cave, shivering, clearly showing the depth of his terror and horror. It was unknown what he had endured to make it roughly three miles from where Wang Zhan and the Old Man had been.
However, looking at the somewhat disheveled brat, covered in dirt and grass stains, Wang Zhan couldn’t help but nod. If nothing else, his tenacity had earned another measure of Wang Zhan’s approval. With this, even if the brat failed Wang Zhan’s test, Wang Zhan would at least find him a good mentor afterward. For instance, Ku Zhu, one of the Federation’s former death-row prisoners, who was now Yao Yao’s bodyguard. This would help smooth the brat’s future path.
Of course, the brat would never know that ever since meeting Wang Zhan and forming this small connection, his life had irrevocably changed. He was destined to see the world from the shoulders of a giant, thanks to Wang Zhan’s help. If the people of the Federation knew he had so easily gained Wang Zhan’s favor, countless individuals would be green with envy, lamenting their own fortunes. He was truly blessed without realizing it.
So, as Wang Zhan’s clone settled near the brat, Wang Zhan and the Old Man, on the other side, hid their vehicle and set off, traveling light. After all, for powerful Martial Artists, such transportation was more of an inconvenient encumbrance, far less agile and slower than their own bodies.
After they left, the scene became completely quiet. Not a soul was in sight, only endless beasts and a small, incredibly audacious brat who dared to hide right under the noses of the beasts.
Suddenly, a gust of wind howled crazily over the wilderness, as if presaging an upcoming storm. Then, two lightning-fast figures swept across the sky in an instant, searching all the way, not stopping for a moment. Their imposing auras and immense pressure quickly attracted the attention of many Beast Clan groups.
Immediately, roaring madly and without hesitation, the beasts displayed their mighty strength and ferocity towards the two sudden and unabashed outsiders in the sky. It was as if ants on the ground had attracted the attention of a Deity above, incurring divine wrath. The two dominant beings from above paused slightly, their auras condensing.
Then, RUMBLE... RUMBLE...
Two air streams, differing in size yet perfectly synchronized, suddenly swooped down from mid-air. Along their path, they caused countless air vibrations, and the "ants" below trembled instantaneously. But no one could stop what was happening. In just an instant, before the beasts below could fully react or mount a defense, the powerful attack swept past them like a bolt of lightning.
SPLAT... SPLAT... SPLAT...
BOOM!
For a moment, the scene was completely silenced. But in the next instant, the tranquility of the entire world was shattered by a series of strong explosions.
Crazed, enraged! Bloodthirsty, roaring!
Wherever one looked, there were only the fierce, blood-red eyes of beasts that had miraculously survived, their savage howls filling the air. This was undoubtedly their ferocity, the madness from the deepest parts of their bloodline.
Bloody!
Instantly, as the two sudden figures made another pass, like a returning boomerang, the scene finally calmed down. The surviving beasts were like puppies fleeing with their tails between their legs, only capable of whimpering wildly. The area had transformed into a gruesome spectacle of mangled flesh and blood splatters. Scarlet rain sprinkled over the surface of the earth, instantly enriching the land manifold. It waited only for the blood to seep into the ground and disappear, for new life to sprout from the soil, its tender shoots reaching for the sunlight.
In mid-air, perhaps only the wind or fate itself could overhear the whispered conversation between the two. The Old Man’s face was indifferent as he huffed coldly, "These damn beasts, they’ve really turned the tables! If we weren’t temporarily unable to cleanse them, I’d be eating roasted beast meat every day!"
They were on Human Race territory, yet humans were forced to stay within their cities, not daring to step into the wilderness. This alone was enough to forge an eternal blood feud between the Human Race and the Beast Clan. Not to mention, in the beginning, the Beast Clan had attempted to enslave the Human Race, committing countless deeds that enraged both heaven and men in the process. Thus, the Old Man’s reaction was not an exaggeration but perfectly reasonable.
As for Wang Zhan, his feelings towards the Beast Clan were naturally no better. Whether in Chu State, Jing State, Oceania, or on the Star War Battlefield, Wang Zhan’s actions had amply demonstrated his disgust for the Beast Clan. Otherwise, the earlier incident—where the two of them, relying on their Martial Emperor Realm strength, had turned countless beasts into pulp with a single strike—would not have occurred.
However, for Wang Zhan, as much as he detested the Beast Clan, he hated the Original Organization even more. These were members of the Human Race who constantly sought to disrupt internal unity and often collaborated with the Beast Clan. In Wang Zhan’s eyes, such people were even more deserving of death. That was why, many times, Wang Zhan appeared indifferent to the Beast Clan, merely engaging in cold-hearted slaughter.
Thus, Wang Zhan didn’t say much in response. He continued to sense the monster’s location, rapidly closing in on it. As for the Beast Clan groups below that occasionally roared defiantly at them, apart from a shared fate of death, they never even caught a clear glimpse of the two mysteriously arrived Human Race powerhouses.
Until, above a certain area, Wang Zhan suddenly halted his advance. His gaze, sharp as electricity, scanned everything below, taking in every place that might harbor an anomaly. The Old Man, who had also accumulated considerable anger from the Beast Clan’s provocations, quickly entered a combat stance alongside Wang Zhan.
Then, he asked Wang Zhan solemnly, "Is it here?"
Wang Zhan was about to nod when, in that very instant, he sensed certain scenes and information that made him frown, his expression turning grave and filled with solemnity. Seeing this, the Old Man naturally knew that some new complication had arisen. Therefore, he also released his mental energy, carefully probing the area. However, he detected nothing. This discovery left the Old Man surprised and uncertain, yet he looked at Wang Zhan thoughtfully.
"What happened down there?"
Wang Zhan looked up at the Old Man and said in a deep voice, "The marker I set was discovered. And it was discovered just as we arrived here..."
Of course, when Wang Zhan said "discovered," he meant that the monster’s clone he had dispatched had been utterly destroyed. The monster’s spirit, summoned by Wang Zhan once more, had returned to his domain. So, his claim of the marker being "discovered" was merely an excuse to deceive the old fox before him, preventing him from uncovering more of Wang Zhan’s secrets.
However, there was another point that truly alarmed Wang Zhan. When I tried to probe in my mind what exactly happened below, what the monster experienced... I found that its mind was a complete blank! Not a single trace of its experiences remained. This is extremely abnormal!
