Getting Stronger By Fighting-Chapter 497: Immortality?_1
Then, the clone of the giant snake looked down from above. Wang Zhan, despite the agonizing pain, had been forcefully dragged to his feet, only his head visible. Yet, his face still bore an infuriatingly brilliant smile, further enraging the giant snake clone. It said ominously, "Kid, I can promise you this! Your fate will be worse than death. Then, I’m going to see if you can keep smiling as you are now!"
In truth, Wang Zhan had no idea. For these clones of the giant snake, even though they were just clones, the bond between them couldn’t be faked. It was real, deep, and supportive; their connection was profound.
However, now, not long after these siblings had emerged, Wang Zhan had already smashed two of them so badly they needed to be remade. The remaining giant snake clones were all half-dead, merely awaiting natural death before the main body of the giant snake could differentiate them once more, allowing them to return to the world.
Such a process might seem like they could live forever without fearing death. However, only these clones of the giant snake knew it wasn’t as simple as it appeared on the surface. This was because they not only had to endure the pain of death once but also the agony of rebirth. Especially since they were all spiritual bodies, yet the bloodline talent of the giant snake allowed for the creation of physical bodies for them from flesh and blood. This aspect further deepened the sensations in the core of their beings! Because that process was so terrifyingly real. So real, it was as if they had just awakened from an agonizing experience, only to face the horror of repeatedly shedding their skin to reach their current size once more!
Therefore, Wang Zhan’s fate was easy to imagine. Once Wang Zhan’s value to the main body was completely exhausted, his fate, if he fell into the hands of these clones, would undoubtedly be horrific!
Yet, Wang Zhan was still smiling brilliantly. As the clone of the giant snake finished speaking, his laughter grew even more unrestrained. "Just a bunch of losers. Even if I fall into your hands, what could you possibly do to me? HA HA HA HA! If you dare, just kill me with one stroke. If I so much as shake my head, I will kowtow and admit defeat to you!"
Instantly, the atmosphere in the area tensed once more. The clone of the giant snake’s vast, lantern-sized eyes were filled with coldness and killing intent, staring hard at Wang Zhan before it. Then, it ground out through clenched teeth, "Very well! You little human, you are quite impressive..."
Wang Zhan, however, merely laughed with disdain. "Good or not, what difference does it make! If it wasn’t for you, you trash, hiding on the side, maybe you would have met the same fate as them. HA HA HA HA! Do you really think I’m afraid of you..."
Perhaps Wang Zhan was truly the most arrogant and defiant prisoner this giant snake had ever encountered. Even though he was clearly at a disadvantage and imprisoned, he still maintained his usual insolence! This subconsciously made the giant snake exert more force, nearly crushing that detestable fellow Wang Zhan into a pulp to vent its heart’s fury!
Fortunately, the main body of the giant snake, which was rapidly approaching, immediately roared in this clone’s mind, "Enough! If you kill him, we really won’t have anything left! Do you want their deaths to have been entirely in vain?"
However, unbeknownst to any of them, as they communicated, Wang Zhan was quietly pondering, his thoughts cunning and inscrutable. This giant snake actually doesn’t intend to kill me? And from the looks of it, it only wants to imprison me? Tsk, tsk, tsk, interesting, very interesting! Fine, I’ll see what other tricks you plan to play...
After all, the current Wang Zhan was no match for them. So, he might as well play along with their scheme and probe for an opportunity.
Sure enough, not long after, a giant snake—indistinguishable from these clones except for its comparatively smaller size—swiftly emerged from underground amidst a series of violent, RUMBLING booms, appearing before them.
It was only then that Wang Zhan truly saw it. The forehead of this latecomer bore a massive eye, occupying nearly half of its forehead! In other words, this was a genuine Three-eyed Snake!
Then, Wang Zhan witnessed another incredible scene, one that completely broadened his horizons and filled him with shock. He watched as the newly arrived giant snake opened its third eye towards those clones, who were already half-crippled and now on their last breath. Immediately, these clones of the giant snake, originally colossal beings nearly ten to over twenty meters in length, rapidly shrank. They continued to shrink until they became creatures the size of ordinary snakes and slithered into the giant snake’s third eye.
Such a scene made Wang Zhan hold his breath. Even when the giant snake shifted its line of sight towards him, Wang Zhan, who had maintained a brilliant smile throughout, now showed a touch of gravity. His eyes were filled with solemnity!
With the arrival of the main body, the clone of the giant snake that had been restraining Wang Zhan finally released its hold, sending him crashing to the ground with a THUD. Thus, Wang Zhan was certain: this Three-eyed Snake was, without a doubt, the main body of these giant snake clones!
However, what no one could have imagined was that aside from the bloodline talent for creating clones, it possessed another, exceedingly wondrous bloodline talent. And this one seemed to be a mystical ability related to space...
This realization instantly made Wang Zhan’s heart skip a beat, filling him with curiosity and longing. He would never be able to touch the bloodline talents of the Human Race; he wouldn’t even have the chance! But I truly didn’t expect this creature before me to possess two bloodline talents! This is practically a heaven-sent gift, an immense fortune bestowed upon me, Wang Zhan! It’s enough to make me go mad!
Then, the main body of the giant snake finished reabsorbing the last clone. Meanwhile, it turned to Wang Zhan, who lay paralyzed on the ground, his aura incredibly feeble, and chuckled softly, "Little fellow, of all the people you could have run into, you had to run into me and insist on a life-and-death battle. Since that’s the case, don’t blame me for being ruthless and taking your life for no good reason!"
Of course, Wang Zhan couldn’t possibly understand the giant snake’s baffling words. So, his expression now much graver, Wang Zhan gave a cold laugh and sneered at the Three-eyed Snake before him, "If you want to kill me or cut me up, just get on with it! It’s still the same thing: if I, Wang Zhan, show any fear, I’ll immediately kneel on the ground, kowtow in surrender, and call you my daddies!"
The giant snake roared with laughter. "Excellent! Little fellow, you’ve got courage! I just hope you can remain as unyielding as you claim. HEH HEH HEH... Next, although I won’t kill you for now, I can certainly ’entertain’ you to the best of my abilities."
How could this pint-sized human youngster know? Those words I spoke earlier weren’t directed at him, but at certain beings who are excessively powerful and utterly shameless. But then again, this young man clearly isn’t qualified to know about grudges of that level yet.
However... COUGH. COUGH. COUGH... Wang Zhan, now covered in blood and drenched, let out another cold laugh. He then closed his eyes, resigning himself to whatever the other party might do. Play whatever tricks you want; I’m already helpless and can only let you do as you please.
Of course, the giant snake could also see that although this little fellow still wanted to bicker, he had lost so much blood that he was on the brink of death. If he wasn’t treated immediately, there would be no time left for squabbling.
Therefore, the giant snake flicked its tail, coiling it around Wang Zhan and bringing him right before its face. Meeting Wang Zhan’s suddenly opened eyes, it cackled sinisterly, "Little fellow, you can’t die; you absolutely must live. So, to save your life, I’ll have to trouble you to endure a little suffering!"
Just then, WHOOSH! An azure stream of air instantly spewed from the giant snake’s belly, landing on Wang Zhan, who was at his last breath, though his gaze remained sharp. Immediately following that, a series of CRACKLING sounds arose, not from the giant snake itself, but from Wang Zhan’s body. It turned out that the azure airflow was an intensely cold frost! As it landed on Wang Zhan’s body, in just the blink of an eye, it rapidly solidified, completely encasing Wang Zhan in ice, rendering him immobile!
It was also at this moment that Wang Zhan finally understood why he had felt such a chill when they had surrounded him earlier. In the final analysis, that chill must be a manifestation of their vital energy or some innate Talent they possess, something inherent to them. That’s why I felt it so keenly!
Evidently, in the eyes of this giant snake, even if Wang Zhan now knew about its main body and the nature of its energy, it still considered him no threat whatsoever! Because the little fellow, now completely sealed within a block of ice, with only his pair of solemn, vivid eyes showing any sign of life, currently possessed no strength left to fight back!
Therefore, after the giant snake also located and retrieved the blood of the two clones that Wang Zhan had smashed to pieces, it swaggered off the battlefield, dived underground, and chose to depart.
