Genshin Impact: I'm The Envoy of Snezhnaya-Chapter 135: The Black-Clad Swordsman
Chapter 135 - 135: The Black-Clad Swordsman
A sword is a weapon. Swordsmanship is the art of killing.
No matter how beautifully one dresses it up with words, the truth remains unchanged.
The Hiten Mitsurugi Style pursues freedom through the blade.
But it is also a killing art developed specifically for use against humans.
By that logic, it shouldn't have much effect on someone like Beisht.
However, the omnipotent system had already overhauled these skills.
It didn't matter if Bai Luo faced a Beisht or a pigeon—if it was in front of him, it would freeze for a second and turn into roasted meat if needed!
A flash of the sword later, Beisht, locked in place for a full second, finally reacted.
"You're not Morax! You're not Morax!"
A strange liquid, seemingly blood but reeking of an unmistakable fishy scent, dripped from her mouth.
Her four heads repeated the phrase over and over like a mantra, as if in a trance.
Bai Luo said nothing, instead activating the active ability Reverse Blade Sword - True Strike.
All negative statuses on his body were dispelled in an instant.
Even the unstable footing from standing on Beisht's slimy body disappeared entirely.
Bai Luo crouched again, taking the stance of Kuzu-Ryu-Sen.
Logically, using Amakakeru-Ryu-No-Hirameki would've maximized the damage output of the skill. freewёbnoνel.com
But in this situation, recklessly using a self-damaging technique wasn't ideal.
If two Amakakeru-Ryu-No-Hirameki, combined with Fairy Glitter, failed to finish Beisht off, Hu Tao would probably be preparing to welcome a high-profile new client—and the Northland Bank would foot the bill.
"Kuzu-Ryu-Sen!"
This time, Bai Luo added the effect of Sou-Ryu-Sen to the attack.
Though the Sou-Ryu-Sen's strikes were blocked by Beisht's formidable defenses, the remaining nine hits landed squarely on her body.
Before he even touched the ground, Bai Luo switched to his Hei class and activated Shadow Step, vanishing before Beisht's eyes.
At first, Beisht thought it was a simple trick of misdirection.
But as she focused her senses, she realized she couldn't detect Bai Luo's presence at all.
He had either used his teleportation skill to escape or—
His stealth ability had reached a level where even a god couldn't perceive him.
"ROAR—"
Though Beisht's combat experience couldn't compare to the likes of Osial or Morax, she was still Osial's wife. She knew a thing or two about handling unusual situations.
For instance, now.
"ROAR!"
All four heads threw back and let out a synchronized, thunderous howl.
Countless waterspouts appeared across the sea.
They stretched from the stormy ocean to the pitch-black clouds above, connecting the sky and sea into one chaotic entity.
Though made of water and wind, the destructive power of these waterspouts was immense.
Even hidden reefs beneath the waves were torn apart, crushed into fine powder by the spiraling forces.
A human caught in one would be shredded to bloody mist in an instant.
It wasn't just the waterspouts. The seawater carried into the black clouds began condensing into countless water spheres under Beisht's deliberate control.
Each sphere plummeted back into the ocean like a meteorite, raising mountain-sized waves on impact.
She was essentially using a scorched-earth tactic to force Bai Luo out of hiding.
But no matter how many waves she raised or waterspouts she unleashed, Bai Luo's figure remained elusive.
Could he be dead?
No.
Beisht was certain her attacks hadn't hit him.
So where could he be?
Three of Beisht's heads vigilantly scanned the surroundings, scrutinizing every corner for signs of her foe.
She refused to believe Bai Luo had fled—he was surely lying in wait, preparing to unleash that bizarre sword technique again.
As for the fourth head—the one on the far right—it was having the worst day of its life.
It had been the one to clash with Beidou and get hit with a flying sandal.
It was the one Bai Luo had stabbed in the eye with a dagger.
It had been sent flying by the Heartfire of the Earth eruption.
And it was the head whose horn had been tied up earlier.
Today was truly a series of misfortunes for that poor head.
After being targeted repeatedly by Bai Luo's relentless attacks, the rightmost head of Beisht had become the focal point of all his efforts.
Even when Bai Luo unleashed Kuzu-Ryu-Sen twice, that same head bore the brunt of the assault.
While the other three heads scanned the surroundings with keen determination, this poor head had retreated slightly, quietly attempting to heal its injuries with water element magic.
But just as the healing energy began to coalesce, something felt off.
Something seemed to drip before her eyes.
It appeared to be a liquid, reminiscent of natural raindrops, entirely unremarkable—except for its color.
Beisht, being innately sensitive to liquids, wouldn't have noticed it otherwise. But even sensing it, she didn't pay it much mind.
After all, she prided herself on her immunity to poisons and her resistance to most water-element attacks. Even if it were corrosive, it would first need to penetrate the protective membrane over her eyes, which she doubted it could.
"Hmm?"
The liquid made contact, and for the first time, Beisht experienced an unfamiliar discomfort.
It was hard to describe—an entirely new sensation for her.
Instinctively, she blinked.
That blink was her undoing.
More of the strange liquid began to enter her eyes, and the previously mild discomfort intensified into a searing burn.
"AAARRGH!"
Suddenly, the rightmost head erupted into a frenzy, smashing violently into the ocean surface, releasing guttural cries of agony.
The other three heads, perplexed by the outburst, exchanged bewildered glances.
However, it wasn't long before the sensation spread to the other heads through their shared body.
"AAAAGH!"
"ROOOAR!"
"WHYYYY?!"
The once-mighty Beisht, ruler of the seas, was now reduced to pitiful wails. Her heads flailed in torment, and tears streamed uncontrollably into the ocean.
For the first time, Beisht realized that there was a water-element attack in this world she couldn't simply shrug off.
Finally, after what seemed an eternity, Bai Luo revealed himself, his figure materializing on Beisht's head.
It turned out that after vanishing, Bai Luo had scaled her dorsal fin and climbed onto her head, completely undetected.
No matter how clever Beisht was, she could never have imagined that Bai Luo would be audacious enough to climb directly onto her head.
The key to his success was the information gap. Beisht simply didn't consider that Bai Luo could remain undetectable even while clambering over her head.
As the saying goes, the most dangerous place is often the safest.
Beisht's widespread, destructive water-based attacks were powerful, yet she never thought to direct them at her own head.
She wasn't foolish, after all—why would she do something that only someone like Arataki Itto might do?
After being thrown off her head, Bai Luo didn't linger. Instead, he made a beeline for her dorsal fin.
It wasn't to pull the same trick again—after all, Beisht had surely caught on to his tactics by now.
No, Bai Luo went back because he had just met the system's conditions.
Hidden in Beisht's dorsal fin was a piece of clothing he'd borrowed from Beidou.
The system notification chimed:
[Third Class: ??? (Awaiting activation)]
Activation Conditions: Suppress Beisht, wife of Osial, to below 30% HP or make her cry (via any method).
With Beisht now streaming uncontrollable tears, the third class was finally unlocked.
[Third Class: Black-Clad Swordsman] successfully activated!
