Gasp! She's a Time Traveler Using Modern Tech to Improve Ancient Life-Chapter 477 - 475: Enchanting Night
"Meteor shower?" Lin Wanwan exclaimed, "Which constellation’s meteor shower is it?"
Lu Shouyue smiled and said, "The Geminid meteor shower that never disappoints, the first one this year. Shall we go? There’s a flat area on this mountain, perfect for stargazing."
Lin Wanwan gladly said, "Sure, since we’re here, we naturally have to take a look. I’ve never seen a meteor shower before!"
Lu Shouyue opened the trunk, strapped a guitar case on his back, picked up a backpack, and held a flashlight in his hand, saying, "Then let’s go. It’s not far from here."
"Let me help you with some stuff," Lin Wanwan reached for the bag slung over Lu Shouyue’s shoulder, but he dodged.
"No need, how can I let a girl carry things? Just save your energy for the hike."
Lin Wanwan wanted to say she wasn’t as fragile as he thought, but she didn’t say it out loud and smiled, "Alright then."
From the Temple’s location halfway up the mountain to the flat area at the top, it’s another half-hour hike.
Climbing a mountain is different from walking on flat land; it’s not an easy task.
Night hiking is quite novel, as Lin Wanwan and Lu Shouyue chatted and laughed, the mountain road underfoot kept moving back, and before they knew it, they had arrived.
"Wow, Wanwan, I didn’t expect you to have such stamina," Lu Shouyue exclaimed, taking a deep breath and looking at Lin Wanwan with a smile.
Lin Wanwan thought to herself that every time she sells Jie Yuting’s seafood, she has to hike into a secret passage in the mountains. She’s quite experienced with hiking techniques, but modestly said, "It’s alright."
Lu Shouyue put down the backpack and guitar case, quickly pulled out a tent from the bag, and set it up.
Lin Wanwan exclaimed, "Mr. Lu, you brought so much stuff!"
Lu Shouyue laughed, "It’s very cold on the mountain top. Setting up a tent keeps you much warmer. That’s my experience."
Lin Wanwan stepped forward to help set up the small tent. Both were handy and quickly finished the task.
After setting it up, they sat side by side in front of the tent. Lu Shouyue pulled out two thermos cups from the bag, handing one to Lin Wanwan.
"Thank you." Lin Wanwan took the cup, opened it, and found it was straw-style, very convenient. She took several sips immediately.
Even though she wasn’t tired, climbing did make her thirsty as it consumes energy and moisture.
Looking into the mountains at night is not beautiful; it has a spooky feeling, but looking up is incredibly beautiful.
A romantic poem suddenly came to Lin Wanwan’s mind, "Intoxicated to forget the sky in the water, the ship dreams weigh down the Milky Way."
"Wow! A shooting star!" Lin Wanwan exclaimed reflexively as she looked up not long after and saw a meteor streak across the sky.
She had never really had the leisure to watch a meteor shower before!
Lu Shouyue also looked up at the sky, smiling but calm, not shouting even if a meteor passed by.
He turned to look at Lin Wanwan, who was eagerly watching the sky, noticing her fine nose and long lashes, with starlight and moonlight spreading over her face.
There were stars in her eyes, like a light in the night.
The stars in the sky paled in comparison to the stars in the eyes of the person beside him, Lu Shouyue thought, feeling they could capture one’s soul.
The meteor shower streaked across the beautiful sky at a rate of over 150 per hour; Lin Wanwan was entranced, not feeling a bit of neck strain from looking up.
Lu Shouyue reached long and retrieved the guitar from inside the tent.
"The brightest star in the night sky, can you hear the loneliness and sighs from the one who gazes at you in the depths of their heart?
Oh, brightest star in the night sky, do you remember, you once walked with me, a silhouette vanishing in the wind."
Lu Shouyue sang softly; he had practiced countless times privately to match this song to tonight’s starry sky.
The Love Bible says to seize every opportunity to create romance; no girl can refuse romance and sincerity.
He is earnest with his employees, so he naturally has to be even more earnest with the girl he likes.
In this world, what is more tempting than money is sincerity.
No matter if it’s pure or not, cheesy or not, as long as there is sincerity, even a person with a heart of stone can be moved.
To retain a capable employee under him, he had also been very sincere, and the result was pleasing; the employee is still dedicated to his career.
Although his pursuit of a girl might not be skilled, he easily commands the art of winning hearts.
"I pray for a transparent soul, and eyes that can cry.
Give me the courage to believe again, oh, to embrace you across lies.
Whenever I can’t find the meaning of existence, whenever I am lost in the night, oh, brightest star in the night sky, please guide me closer to you..."
Lin Wanwan’s eyes were filled with the vast starry sky, her ears with the captivating song, her whole being intoxicated.
This night was too perfect.
After the song ended, Lin Wanwan turned to Lu Shouyue and smiled, "Mr. Lu, you sang so well! This song is really beautiful!"
It was Lin Wanwan’s first time hearing this song, and she fell in love with it instantly.
The lyrics, the melody, the starry sky, and Lu Shouyue’s handsome face combined made it unforgettable.
Lin Wanwan knew she would never forget this birthday night for the rest of her life.
Everything was too beautiful, too moving, like a fairy tale.
Clearly, fairy tales are deceiving, yet why did she feel like she had entered one now?
Lu Shouyue put down the guitar, suddenly reached to Lin Wanwan’s ear, and when he pulled back his hand, a rose appeared.
"Wanwan, this is for you."
The flashlight hanging by the tent softly illuminated everything, revealing some people’s thoughts.
"Magic!" Lin Wanwan exclaimed, covering her mouth with one hand and taking the rose with the other. "Mr. Lu, is there anything you can’t do? Where did you make this appear from?"
Lu Shouyue gazed at the distant starry sky, his heart pounding, took a deep breath of the forest air, and casually said, "Just a small trick, haha, I showed off."
Lin Wanwan brought the rose to her nose to smell it and suddenly discovered a platinum star-shaped necklace hanging from it.
"What’s this?"
Lu Shouyue took the necklace, reached an arm around Lin Wanwan’s shoulder, almost embracing her, put it on her, and whispered in her ear, "Happy birthday, Wanwan."
Lin Wanwan only felt her ears warming up, and the figure in Lu Shouyue’s eyes gradually enlarged.
Just when their breaths were about to mingle, Lin Wanwan suddenly stepped back, stood up, and said a bit shyly, "Mr. Lu, you’re so thoughtful. But I don’t even know your birthday, how impolite. When is it? When your birthday comes, I’ll prepare a great gift for you."
Lu Shouyue’s expression was a bit unreadable; after a moment of silence, he chuckled, "I’m sorry."
Before Lin Wanwan could say anything, he added, "Mine is January third, Capricorn."
