After helping Sang Luo clean the fish, he skewered it with a branch and roasted it over the fire until it was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The moment Sang Luo sprinkled on the seasoning, a fragrant aroma wafted through the air.

Not far away, Anubia arrived just in time to see the two of them flirting. The bouquet of fresh flowers in his hand instantly vanished, and he turned and disappeared from sight.

Sang Luo turned and looked out of the cave, but there was no one there. ’Is there a Star Beast nearby?’ she wondered.

She stood up and said to Duotu, "Um, I need to relieve myself."

"Mm."

Duotu shifted into his beast form, flopped onto the ground, and gave a long, lazy stretch.

The moment she stepped out of the cave, a powerful force yanked her aside. She looked up to see an aloof, strikingly handsome, black-haired youth. Before she could utter a word, he bent down and kissed her.

It wasn’t so much a kiss as a vicious, angry bite.

The taste of blood quickly spread between her lips and teeth. Enraged, Sang Luo shoved him away and wiped her mouth, wincing in pain. "Are you insane?!" she cursed.

Anubia stared at her, his face grim. Without a word, he took a step forward.

Sang Luo took a step back.

’This is so annoying! I just chased one off, and now here’s another one?’

’It never ends!’

"...Are you here to settle a score, or to kill me?" she demanded coldly, her hand held behind her back.

Seeing how wary and guarded she was, Anubia knew Shi Yi had lied to him. His hand at his side clenched and unclenched. He was so furious he actually laughed. "You took my Talent Ability and thought you could just dump me? Dream on. Remember what we didn’t get to finish that day?"

He licked his lips, as if savoring the memory. "Tonight, we’ll finish what we started," he purred.

"You had your fun. Thinking you can come back for more? Not a chance."

Stung by her words, Anubia flew into a rage. "Other males can have you, so why can’t I?!"

With that, he reached out to drag her away by force.

At that exact moment, a bullet sliced through the air and pierced his arm. "Ugh!" Staggering back several steps, Anubia clutched his wounded arm and glared grimly at the blond man who had just rushed over.

Duotu’s expression was even darker. He cocked his pistol and aimed it straight at Anubia’s head.

"Insect Clan?"

Anubia turned to sneer at Sang Luo. "Your new flame is pretty ruthless, huh."

"Luoluo, get over here!"

Duotu gestured urgently.

But Anubia was faster. He teleported to Sang Luo’s side, his grip on her hand frighteningly strong. He could have simply taken her away, or used her as a hostage to threaten Duotu, but he did neither. Heart filled with sorrow and rage, he seized her chin and kissed her fiercely, right in front of Duotu.

Duotu’s face went livid. He teleported over and slammed his fist into Anubia.

He stumbled back a few steps, wiped the blood from his lips, and curled them into a wicked grin. "I’ve marked her. No matter where she goes, I can find her. You’d better watch her closely."

A bullet tore through empty air; Anubia had vanished, leaving only a spatial ripple from an energy blast in his wake.

’What is with this Insect Clan guy, is he part dog or something?!’ Sang Luo cursed internally. ’He’s bitten me twice! My mouth is swollen and bleeding!’

"...So that’s where your Space Jumping talent came from?" Duotu said, gently wiping the blood from her lips. He finally understood how she had managed to travel from the Imperial City to the Yaxili Strait so quickly.

"Yes. I was captured by the Insect Clan once," she explained. "I had no choice but to give myself to him and steal his Talent Ability. It’s how I managed to escape death multiple times." Sang Luo despised Anubia, but she had to admit, his Talent Ability was incredibly useful. ’Even if I could do it over,’ she thought, ’I’d probably do the same thing.’

Hearing this, Duotu’s jealousy vanished. "You did exactly the right thing!"

"Who was that from the Insect Clan?" he asked.

"Anubia."

"So it was him." Duotu had fallen victim to one of his schemes years ago. Anubia was always meticulously careful, often using multiple disguises to confuse his enemies, which was why Duotu had never seen this particular face before.
