Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 408 - 347: Merely a Male’s Instincts Acting Up
"You’re still waiting for ’him’?"
Biya’s expression turned icy. "That guy was on the verge of disappearing anyway. Now that my wounds have healed, you’ll never see him again!"
"Anu... is still here?" she murmured.
"Not anymore," Biya said, his tone rigid.
A dull ache spread through Sang Luo’s chest, tinged with bitterness. Anu represented a fervent, pure love for her.
By healing Biya with her own hands, she had also condemned Anu to disappear completely.
They stared at each other in silence, the air growing as cold as it was when they first met. Suddenly, a sound came from behind them. Biya’s expression hardened, and he pressed her firmly into his chest.
Figures emerged from the dense surrounding forest.
Biya’s eyes narrowed dangerously. ’He had gone to great lengths to hide, yet these annoying pests still found him.’
Samuel Taylor had suffered a major defeat in their last battle; there was no way he would let his opponent off so easily.
He knew Biya had a latent injury. After an explosive outburst of power, Biya would be at his most vulnerable—the perfect time to land a killing blow!
Sang Luo shifted her head. She, too, heard the faint movements coming from all sides. She didn’t need to use her spiritual power to know that many people were hiding in the shadows—all of them were well-trained Hidden Guards of considerable strength.
Her fluffy head rubbing against his chest sent a rush of heat through Biya. The desire he had just managed to suppress began to stir again. "...Don’t fidget," he chided in a low voice.
Sang Luo froze.
She could feel the change in him, too.
Her cheeks flushed slightly. She shifted her focus away. "Do you want me to take care of these guys for you?"
"Do you think I’m that weak?"
Biya scoffed and snapped his fingers. A white web spread invisibly through the night, like a ghost choosing its prey.
Gradually, the air grew thick with the acrid scent of blood, scorching the inside of one’s nose.
Sang Luo took a look with her spiritual power. The men in the shadows had all fallen without a sound, becoming nourishment for the web. They never even had a chance to cry out.
Biya brought Sang Luo back to the Insect King Palace.
She began to think about her next move.
Sang Luo had been in contact with Shi Yi.
The Insect Clan’s outbreaks on the Beast World Continent hadn’t stopped; in fact, they were getting worse. This meant the virus’s Control Center inside the Baru Divine Body had not yet been destroyed.
Biya had destroyed the base in Zone One. A behemoth of that size couldn’t have escaped unscathed unless... someone had moved it on purpose!
The trail had gone cold. With no leads, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
’Only five days left. How am I going to find the Control Center?’
’And another thing... how did Samuel Taylor find us last time?’
’The intel I have just isn’t enough.’
Lost in thought, she felt a pang of hunger. Sang Luo sighed, retrieved a Divine Grade Spirit Fruit from her storage space, and ate it. It wasn’t enough, so she ate another. Only then did she feel somewhat sated.
She rubbed her still-flat belly.
’This baby has such an appetite in the early stages of pregnancy. I can’t imagine how much it’ll eat later on.’
’Quan Jin’s child is certainly high-maintenance. When I get back, I’ll have to ask him for a lot more good stuff.’
’Fortunately, the baby won’t be born anytime soon. I’ll focus on the pregnancy once I’m back in the Beast World.’
After eating, Sang Luo was overcome with drowsiness. She decided to sleep first and worry about everything else later.
Sang Luo lay down on the bed and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
She was unaware of the bloodbath that would unfold in the Insect Palace that night.
Biya stood outside the hall, moonlight washing over his tall, slender frame. His most trusted confidant approached. "Your Majesty, all the spies hidden within the palace have been eliminated. The bodies have been removed."
He nodded, glancing toward a nearby room where a dim, yellow light glowed from the window. She liked to leave a small night light on when she slept.
’After his last defeat, Samuel Taylor had fled back to his lair. For now, he wouldn’t dare make any rash moves, but he has secretly dispatched numerous Hidden Guards to investigate my origins and identity.’
’Their focus is especially on Sang Luo, the Beast Clan female by my side who no one had ever paid attention to before.’
’She seems to have caught the eye of the new king of Zone 3.’
’Getting their hands on her could be a valuable bargaining chip.’
The confidant’s gaze followed his king’s. He couldn’t help but sigh internally. ’His Majesty truly values this beautiful young lady. Tonight’s purge of the entire palace, uprooting every hidden threat... anyone with eyes can see he did it out of concern for her safety.’
He voiced his thoughts without thinking.
Biya looked startled for a moment before coldly denying it. "I just don’t want to drag an innocent person into this."
"When Your Majesty first arrived in Zone 3, your methods were ruthless and cruel. You never gave a second thought to the lives of outsiders." The confidant recalled those days, a lingering fear still gripping him.
Back then, he was like an emotionless killing machine on the verge of losing control. He single-handedly slaughtered tens of thousands of the Insect Clan, stormed their stronghold, and took the old king’s head.
Biya’s eyes sharpened. ’When I was first resurrected, my power was in a highly unstable state. The fusion of our souls was collapsing, and I was on the verge of losing control completely. Only in this past month has the fusion stabilized.’
He glanced at the room again and noticed the window wasn’t fully closed. The temperature in the Star Vortex Insect Nest fluctuated wildly between day and night, and the night air was frigid.
He walked over and closed the window.
His gaze fell on the figure on the bed.
’This cunning little female... she tied her life to mine. We’re two grasshoppers on the same string now.’
’She has become my greatest weakness, my Achilles’ heel.’
’So naturally, I can’t let her just go and get herself killed.’
’Save her.’
’That’s all it is.’
’There are absolutely no other feelings involved.’
Yet his feet moved of their own accord, pushing the door open and carrying him inside.
The confidant didn’t dare to intrude. He retreated into the shadows and vanished.
Biya sat on the edge of the bed and tucked her in.
’She’s sleeping so soundly.’
’Didn’t even notice me come in.’
’She has no sense of caution at all.’
’Does she think I’m some kind, safe person?’
’Foolish female.’
’If it weren’t for this life-and-death seal, I would’ve thrown her in a dungeon and tortured her a hundred times over. I’d make her cry and beg for mercy, plead to stay by my side, and obediently bear my child.’
"’Could you bear to do it?’ another voice echoed in his mind."
Biya’s expression turned cold. ’Shut up. It’s not your place to speak in this body.’
"’Luoluo is someone I would give my life for,’ the voice insisted. ’I won’t allow you to treat her this way.’"
"’...You fool!’"
"’No. I just love her. Anubia loves her.’"
Biya stood up abruptly, his eyes turning cold and savage. ’I have no feelings for her. I’m just being influenced by your residual emotions.’
"’But you obviously want her,’ Anu’s voice retorted."
Biya was like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, unable to utter a single word in rebuttal.
He could deceive others, but he couldn’t deceive ’himself’.
He did, in fact, desire Sang Luo. Even if it was just a physical, instinctive reaction, he didn’t feel disgusted by it, nor did he resist. Instead, he let it spread unchecked, slowly drowning him...
"My mating season is approaching. I can’t resist her body."
He slowly breathed out the words.
His gaze fell upon the female sleeping soundly on the bed.
She was a restless sleeper. Her robes were in disarray, revealing the pale skin of her shoulder and neck. The dim candlelight cast a lovely, tempting honey-gold glow upon her.
And the faint, sweet scent of her body made his blood rush... He wanted to pin her beneath him, to dominate and demand everything from her!
’But this is just a male’s reproductive instinct for a female.’
Biya turned and left the room.
