Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 304 - 243: A Family Reunion
"That’s good. You’ve been pregnant with this one for a long time. Once you give birth, you’ll finally be able to relax," Lou Xianyue remarked with a sigh.
"I know, right? This little one is the child I’ve carried the longest. I have no idea when he’ll decide to come out."
"From the looks of it, it should be soon." Lou Xianyue took a piece of clothing out of a cabinet.
Sang Luo’s eyes lit up when she saw the clothes he took out.
Even before this bolt of Shark Sha was fully woven, it had been breathtakingly beautiful. The finished garment, however, was even more stunning! Lou Xianyue had originally planned to make her a cinched-waist mini dress perfect for summer. Unfortunately, her belly was quite big with the pregnancy now, so he had made a looser, more casual maternity dress instead.
The dress fell to just below her knees, and the hem featured three curved, stacked layers, making it look a bit like a puffy skirt. It had a touch of playful charm, and the design was gorgeous.
’This is the first time in my life I’ve ever worn such a beautiful maternity dress.’
"Ah Ze, your job as Sea Emperor is definitely holding back a master designer." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Lou Xianyue pinched her cheek. "To receive such high praise from my Sang’er makes me very happy."
Sang Luo gave him a peck on the cheek. "Hehe, but it’s a shame you can only be my exclusive designer. I’ve hidden you away, so I’m afraid you’ll never have the chance to become world-famous in this lifetime."
"Fine by me. I’d gladly accept that." Lou Xianyue let her have her little joke. "Go on, try it on. It should fit well enough."
Sang Luo took the new dress behind a screen. Lou Xianyue sat down on a nearby daybed, listening to the RUSTLING sounds. A moment later, she came out in the new dress. His long, silver-blue eyes lit up; she was even more beautiful than he had imagined. "It suits you perfectly. You look beautiful."
"Let me see!"
He raised his hand and conjured a Water Mirror.
Sang Luo turned back and forth in front of the mirror, her satisfaction plain to see. The Shark Sha material was soft and light, quite suitable for a pregnant woman to wear.
"How is Little An doing with his lessons? I want to take him to the surface for a few days." Sang Luo spun around and sat on his lap, hooking her arms around his neck.
Lou Xianyue wrapped his arms around her waist, careful not to hold her too tightly for fear she might fall, mindful of her belly. "Zai Xin has been full of praise for Little An’s schoolwork. He’s been quite bored staying in the sea lately, so taking him out to play and relax would be good for him."
"Then I’ll take Little An away for a few extra days. Try not to miss him too much."
"You’ll come back with him," he said, his eyes focused only on her.
After spending a few days in the Sea Palace, Sang Luo took the children back to the East Continent.
Fei Yuan was very fond of the beautiful little Merfolk boy, showering him with gifts and even having a palace specially prepared for him, hoping he would visit often and stay for long periods.
Watching her cubs roughhouse and play, Sang Luo realized they were much happier than when they were alone. ’Pups this age love playing with their siblings the most...’ It occurred to her that her children had never had a proper reunion.
So, Sang Luo made another trip to the North Continent to bring back the three little Wolf Pups.
She never paid much attention to the changing seasons on the North Continent and often ran into the raging blizzards of the cold season. This time, however, she was quite lucky. Her visit coincided with the warm season, which only lasted one or two months a year. Most of the ice and snow had melted, and the sunlight was gentle and warm.
Sang Luo’s gaze was drawn to the blooming flowers in the courtyard.
’So many flowers have bloomed.’
’These cold-resistant flowers Lan Cang planted have a pretty high survival rate.’
Sang Luo bent down and leaned in to smell them.
These flowers, unique to the North Continent, bloomed amidst frost and snow, giving them an especially fresh and captivating fragrance.
Lan Cang walked up and gently hugged her from behind. "Be careful, you’re still pregnant. If you like these flowers, I’ll pick some to put inside the house."
"The flowers are growing so well, why pick them? They’ll just wither in a few days. I don’t like that. They look beautiful growing here in the courtyard, all clustered together."
"Alright, then I won’t pick them. I’ll plant more next year." Lan Cang pinched the tip of her nose. "Why didn’t you let me know you were coming? I haven’t really tidied up the house, so it might be a little messy."
"Hmph. I wanted to surprise you, to see if a certain someone was fooling around behind my back."
"I don’t have the time for that," Lan Cang said with a mock-reproachful laugh. He was raising three children on his own and managing all the affairs of the city; he was so busy he could hardly find a moment to himself.
Sang Luo looked at the man before her, noticing he had gotten a little thinner. Her heart ached as she gently caressed his brow and eyes. "Don’t work yourself so hard. You can put off the things that aren’t urgent. Don’t wear yourself out."
"It’s fine. Keeping busy stops me from overthinking things."
A pang of guilt rose in Sang Luo’s heart. Of all of them, she had neglected Lan Cang the most.
’He’s always been able to endure loneliness.’
Perhaps the only comfort she had given him was bearing him three children.
She had borne him the most children, and Lan Cang was very content with that. He had never asked her for anything more.
Sang Luo took the initiative and kissed his lips.
Lan Cang’s breath hitched, and he carried her back to the bedroom.
As night fell, Sang Luo nestled in his arms, stroking his hair and face, which were damp with sweat. "I’m going to take Little Stone and the others to the East Continent to play for a few days."
Lan Cang took her hand and brought it to his lips for a kiss. His voice was hoarse, still thick with lingering passion. "Go ahead. They were just talking about wanting to go to the East Continent to see the world."
"How are the children’s lessons?"
"They’re all doing well. I’ll give them a break. Take them out and have fun. You can come back whenever you want."
"Cangcang, you’re the best." Sang Luo gave him a peck on the cheek.
After spending a few days in Ice-breaking City, Sang Luo whisked the three little Wolf Pups away to the East Continent.
Fei Yuan had long since prepared individual rooms for the little Wolf Pups and had another three small gifts waiting for them.
The six children’s rooms were close to each other, which made it convenient for them to play together.
’Who knows what kind of ruckus they’ll cause at night!’
Little Stone stepped forward, raising his paw. "Don’t worry, Mother. I’ll watch over my younger siblings and make sure they go to bed on time and don’t run around causing trouble."
Little Qi flicked the tip of his tail. "I’m the older brother, you know."
Little Stone scratched his head in confusion. He was so used to being the big brother that he had just assumed. "Oh, you’re the older brother? But you’re so much smaller than me!"
Little Stone flopped onto the ground and sniffed at Little Qi with his wet, black nose. This long, skinny little black snake wasn’t even as thick as half of his own foreleg.
Sang Luo stifled a laugh. "That’s right, Little Qi is the oldest brother."
The better a King Beast cub’s innate talent, the slower their growth period. The three little Wolf Pups’ talents were, after all, a bit lacking compared to the other cubs. In the future, they would likely be the first to transform into their human forms, grow up, and leave their parents’ side.
However, Little Qi had also been in a deep slumber for a very long time. When it came to actual maturity and sensibility, Little Stone was still the most grown-up.
"Little Qi, even though you’re the older brother, you should listen to Little Stone’s words. That goes for the rest of you, too—especially you, Little Zhenzhen." Sang Luo adopted the stern air of a mother beast. "If I find anyone not sleeping soundly at night, but instead making a ruckus and causing trouble, and I get complaints from your siblings about it, Mother will hand out punishments!"
As soon as she said this, the little schemes brewing in the cubs’ minds were quickly extinguished.
Si Ye was free recently with nothing to do, so he stayed in the palace to tutor the cubs.
