From Villain to Virtual Sweetheart: The Fake Heir's Grand Scheme(BL)-Chapter 211: Knockout Debut
Chapter 211: Knockout Debut
The first team they were up against was EmpireSlayer, a newer team without much reputation. Micah queued in with Archie for the duo knockout round, palms sweating slightly as the match countdown ticked.
***First Round: Micah & Archie vs EmpireSlayer***
ShadowBishop: Jungler/ Jax
FrostbiteAshe: Support/ Rell
Enemy team:
JoyLunatic: Jungler/ Skarner
ArmoredArachnid: Tank/ Leona
From the start, Archie directed the match with precision, his Jax diving into jungle camps with aggression. Micah trailed just behind, focusing on vision control and peeling when needed. His movements were stiff at first, cautious, trying not to make any mistakes.
He was sure all eyes were on his account. He could imagine the broadcasting and fans talking about who he was, appearing out of the blue. And if they knew the bet, it was probably worse, watching him like a hawk, waiting for him to mess up, having a reason to diss him. freewebnøvel.coɱ
After a few minutes, Micah’s nerves relaxed a bit. The enemy was...weak.
"They’re slower than I thought," Micah muttered as he warded the river bush.
"They are a novice team," Archie replied, calm and focused, his eyes never leaving his screen.
Micah’s Rell landed a perfect engage near the dragon pit, locking down Leona while Archie’s Jax zipped in from the jungle to clean house.
It was over in less than fifteen minutes. Clean. Dominant.
The cheers exploded from the crowd. A few voices even shouted, "ShadowBishop!"
Micah’s lips twitched, amused, and relieved. Good thing he had muted the broadcast. No need to hear the speculation.
Still, outside their team zone, the announcer’s voice buzzed, breathless. "That was textbook synergy from a team that’s never officially played together. Could FrostbiteAshe be the missing piece SilverBlade Legion needs to take the whole competition?"
The female commentator chimed in. "It’s surprising that FrostbiteAshe is just silver rank. His awareness and precision felt closer to a pro-level support player than someone new to the competitive scene."
"And I heard he has been grinding with DarkVyne lately, maybe that’s why his skills improved heaps and bounds. So folks, never lose hope. Maybe you guys too can rise from a trashy ugly duckling account into a silver pro swan!"
The crowd laughed and whooped at that, caught between admiration and amusement.
Inside the SilverBlade section, Micah followed Archie’s instructions, and the two moved like a machine. Even though the matchup was easy, Archie never underestimated the enemy, always focused. It didn’t take long for Micah to fall into rhythm with him.
On the other hand, Darcy played with Lulu and Zian in three three-player knockout version.
***Second Round: Darcy, Lulu & Zian vs. FocusDeities trio***
DarkLegend: Mid lane/ Aurora
PoisonIvy: Support/ Brand
DiabolicDestroyer: Top lane/ Darius
Enemy team:
MintLace: Mid lane/ Sylas
DiamondGuard: Support/ Nami
LoyalGrizzly: Top Lane/ Aatrox
Darcy’s match came next. Even though Lulu and Zian had never played with Darcy before, the two adjusted to his style with surprising ease. The synergy wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t need to be. Darcy’s control over the game was subtle: precise rotation, smooth laning, well-timed pings. It was like playing beside someone who had calculated four moves ahead.
Lulu practically could not sit still in her chair. Her fingers hovered over the keyboard between fights, bouncing lightly. She kept glancing at the minimap and back to her screen, almost giddy. Her cheeks were flushed, her lips curled in a smile she couldn’t hide.
She was playing with DarkVyne.
Well, no one else knew that, but she did. And that was enough to make her feel like she was sitting on a secret treasure chest.
She grinned to herself, recalling the way DarkVyne had played with Frosty. She had been on the losing side then, but the way those two had played together stuck in her mind. Their timing had been uncanny, so in sync it was like they were two halves of the same brain. But this time... It wasn’t quite the same.
She glanced sideways at Darcy, watching his calm, steady clicks.
There was no adjustment this time.
Darcy wasn’t reaching for her tempo. He just did his thing, and somehow she fell into step without trying.
Lulu raised her eyebrow, thoughtful, then nodded to herself.
Ah, so Frosty was special. She wasn’t mad. If anything, she found it charming.
She gave a soft laugh and leaned back slightly in her chair. It was kind of romantic...
Meanwhile, Zian glanced at his girlfriend. Something about the way Lulu was looking at DarkVyne made all the alarm bells in his head go off.
He knew this DarkVyne was trouble. He still remembered how Lulu reacted to him, blushing at his appearance in the team’s enemy.
Now, look at her. Eyeing Darcy with a goofy smile on her face.
Zian gritted his teeth. No way was he letting Darcy steal his girlfriend.
Zian slid his chair beside Elijah, blocking his mic on his headset. "Hey... didn’t Captain say he was DarkVyne? Was he playing with his alt account?"
Elijah didn’t even look up from his monitor. "Probably he wouldn’t want to draw attention."
"Damn it," Zian grumbled. "If he used his main, every girl in the arena would have swarmed him like Christmas lights. No way Lulu could even get near him... but now..."
However, the response he got was just silence.
Zian grabbed the edge of Elijah’s chair tightly. "Man, help me! He’s going to take my girl away if this continues! Look at her! She is drooling over him."
"You’re being paranoid. You’re losing your girlfriends had nothing to do with others." Elijah rolled his eyes.
"Hey!" Zian kicked the chair lightly.
"What are you two whispering about?" Lulu asked, glancing over.
"Nothing," Zian said quickly, chuckling nervously.
Elijah sighed. "He wants to know why that black-haired guy is using an alt."
"That’s your question?" Lulu whispered. "I’m more shocked they’re not fighting anymore. After this morning’s drama, I thought someone was going to rage-quit mid-match and make a mess."
Elijah nodded. "Right? It’s like watching a ceasefire during a holiday."
Flinn, spinning a pepero between his fingers, piped in. "Yeah. The second team is in awe too. They keep asking me who that frosty guy is. Said they’re never seen anyone argue with Captain that match and still not got kicked."
"Yeah, well," Elijah muttered, "If anything blows up again, I am afraid we will probably get blamed before those two."
"Great," Zian tucked his hair. "Just what I needed. Extra stress!"
Everyone gave a quiet nod and turned their attention back to their monitors, worried when the peaceful atmosphere would go off again.
