Chapter 159: The Three Buske-teers (7)
Jada took a deep breath as she stared at Benjamin’s familiar face.
He was dressed in a red soccer jersey, slim-fit black athletic pants, and clean white sneakers, which highlighted his lean yet muscular figure.
With a crisp line-up and his golden skin gleaming in the sun with that familiar smirk on his face, she had to admit, he looked as handsome as always, perhaps even more attractive than she remembered. fгeewebnovёl.com
As cocky as ever, he waved for her to proceed, and she recalled the bars she had written a while back to use the next time she met him and began adapting it to the beat being played by the strange boy wearing the green mask.
"Uh, uh, uh, uh.
It’s Jada Jada, and I’m hot like the weather
Float on any beat, ’cause I’m light as a feather,
There’s this British boy here who thinks he can rap
Innit boy, go home, cause we know that’s just cap."
- Ooooooohhhhhhh
The crowd roared as Jada flipped her bucket hat into the air before catching it on her head with an easy spin, flashing a smile at the large cameras pointed at her and Benjamin.
"He’ll talk about tea in that wack accent,
When he talks about money, he asks, ’Do you have some pence?’,
If you ask me what he says, I can’t tell you what he meant,
Mate this, brudda, that, bruv, try to make some sense."
- burrnnnnnn!
- She’s right, I can’t understand the British accent half the time, though.
As the crowd began getting into it, Jada began smiling more, and her lisp became more pronounced as she aggressively walked toward Benjamin while looking him up and down before poking him in the chest.
"Call him Jack, cause he’s skinnier than the beanstalk
That he needs to climb, just to meet me at the tippy top.
I’m the giant to take down, and he’s trying to make a plan
But he’s living in a fairy tale if he really thinks he can.
Fi fi fo fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman
You accepted my challenge cause I’m a girl, and you thought it would be easy
But I’ve got you beat, and it was easy-breezy, please believe me."
skrrrrp skrrrrp skrrrrp
As Jada gestured to him, Ari spun the turntables to stop the music.
- oooohhhhhh
- She cooked him!
- That was good!
- Let’s hear his response!
With a teasing expression on his face, Benjamin clapped sarcastically while bouncing as his brain whirled, before grabbing the microphone and gesturing to Ari to switch up the music.
With a couple of spins of the turntable, the simple beat changed into something that had more of a drill beat, which is what Benjamin had said he preferred.
As the beat slowly changed, Benjamin began bobbing side to side with a mocking smile on his face as he pointed to Jada and her group mates.
"They call me Big Ben, I’m from South London. Let’s go."
"I’m a British boy, so she says I can’t rap,
We just say blimey, bloke, tea, crumpets, and then we take a nap.
You say you can’t understand my accent, and that’s fine,
But we really should talk about yours before we talk about mine."
- ohhhhhhhh snap
Laughing to himself, Benjamin moved so that his back was to the Kosmic Krew, and Jada had to face them both.
"I think your lisp is cute. Don’t listen to dem man."
Benjamin paused to point at the Kosmic Krew before giving Jada a wicked smile.
"Go on. Say seven sizzling sausages sizzling in a saucepan."
- oohhh
- That’s funny
- Her lisp is pretty bad.
- Has she considered speech therapy?
- I kind of want her to say she sells she shells
- Shut up, you can’t even say it right.
As the crowd roared with laughter, Benjamin held his microphone out to Jada as her face turned a bright red, especially as she heard the crowd’s comments and knew that the members of the Kosmic Krew often teased her for it.
Her lips moved as she mouthed the words, and seeing it, Benjamin smoothly continued, feeding off the crowd’s comments.
"Say she sells seashells at the seashore, can you do it with no plan? Nah,
You’re here trying to clown me, while you’re dressed like you belong in Cirque du Soleil fam."
- OOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
- That’s a circus.
- Shut up, I know that.
Seeing that his point had been made, Benjamin moved on, lazily walking in a circle around Jada.
"I won’t speak about your speech impediment, it’s not really your fault,
Your country has terrible health care, and you rap in a terrible voice."
- chillllll
- too far!!!
Even though some people defended her, Jada’s face turned red, and tears came to her eyes, as the majority laughed, but Benjamin continued with no hesitation.
"I can’t knock it though, I can see that you’re trying your best,
So rah rah, I’ll be your cheerleader, instead of telling you to give our ears a rest.
And since you can’t understand me, I’ll speak nice and slow,
I’ll even use an accent that you very well know,
Ahem-"
Benjamin pretended to clear his throat before speaking in an American accent with a heavy lisp.
"You got thissss, I believe in you, don’t flop thissss,
But if you do, there are other job optionsss
We’re in Vegas, so here’s a few for adoption
The circus is calling, and the library too.
I know you love to pre-write, no off-the-cuff raps for you
This is a rap cypher, but you’re spitting memorized essays
Dang Jada, even for you, that’s just messy,
You issued the challenge, lost, and now have to cry,
You said I shouldn’t take it easy on girls,
And I didn’t, so bye-bye."
skrrrrp skrrrrp skrrrrp
Seeing that it was going a little too far, Ari spun the turntables quickly and cut the music as the crowd began roaring and members of the Kosmic Krew began yelling at Benjamin, who smiled and waved mockingly while Jada pulled her bucket hat over her eyes as she was hugged by another team member.
It looked like she was crying
- Burnnnnnnnnn
- Oooooooohhhh
- Dang
- Awww he made her cry!
"Order, order, let’s have some order." Ari grabbed the microphone to try to calm the rowdiness down, but seeing that it was still pretty loud, he repeatedly pressed the button linked to a horn sound.
Bur bur bur brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
"Ladies, gentlemen, and everyone in between, let’s settle down. Both of these individuals did amazingly, so please give them a round of applause. But there can only be one winner. If you think that Jada from Kosmic Krew won, make some noise."
- woooooooooo!!!!
Although there were a few cheers, it wasn’t as intense as it could be considering the size of the gathered crowd/
"Ohhh, not bad, not bad. If you think that Benjamin from Pop Star Academy won, make some noise!"
- woooooooooo!!!!
- Big Ben!
- wahhhhhhhhhhhhh
There was a clear difference in the loudness of the cheers, and Ari nodded in approval.
"That’s one point for the Pop Star Academy team, thanks to Benjamin, and zero for the Kosmic Krew."
As he began playing a simple beat once more, Ari began his shameless advertisement since the crowd was only getting bigger. "Please register to vote on the Pop Star Academy website and scan the QR code to buy discounted tickets to see us perform as the opener to a show in a couple of days. Now, who’s next?"

"Uhm, should we stop this?" Kate asked as she fanned herself to cool down after her sprint to go get a PD from another group.
The crowd had grown huge, and it had been difficult to force herself close to where the contestants were standing with the PD.
"No, you let it get to this point, so you might as well let it play out."
"I-I am sorry. It was jus-"
"I can hear your excuses later. They seem to be handling it well, and that crazy director is having a field day recording it all. And any promo is good promo." PD Emily Raliegh replied as her eyes focused on the individual with a bright green face mask acting as the MC and managing the loud crowd without a single sign of nervousness.
Most of his team was actively participating as well, helping people sign up or working the crowd, except for one blonde individual who smiled with a tight expression and posed as if he were the king in charge of everything, standing behind Ariel.
Since she immensely disliked him, she turned to focus back on the mischievous-looking green eyes as the owner chatted with the audience.
Somehow, the simple busking outing that other teams were completing straightforwardly had turned into a competition that had drawn a large and still-growing crowd that was taking photos and videos,
She was sure that when they finally tallied which team had sold the most tickets, it would be this one, especially with the shameless advertising happening by one individual.
Truly, it seemed like that contestant couldn’t avoid trouble even if he wanted to, and was constantly making good TV.
Since this was good, unscripted TV, she would have to make sure it was edited properly and released at the perfect timing.
After all, it wouldn’t do to have one team overly dominate the others even if they were doing well.
skrrrrp skrrrrp skrrrrp
The sound of a record scratching broke PD Emily out of her thoughts, and the familiar, slightly accented, relaxed voice spoke out.
"Okay, okay. Kosmic Krew has decided that the next challenge will be dance. Shai Leroi says he wants to go first, so let’s get it."
