From Evil Sect Leader to Doctor-Chapter 355 - 330: Like I’d Ever Trust You
Xu Chunliang said, "There are currently many healthcare and elderly care projects in the country. You must have heard of Kangjian."
Tang Jinglun replied, "Kangjian is positioned too high-end. They target high-income groups, while we are targeting the middle class. You all witness today that in our elderly care projects, we focus on reputation and conscience."
Xu Chunliang could partly believe him seeing his serious demeanor, but he still had doubts: "How will you keep it going if it doesn’t make money in the long term?"
Tang Jinglun glanced at Dong Changhao with a smile.
Dong Changhao said, "Our health projects mainly cover three areas: healthcare and elderly care projects, health check-ups, and medical aesthetics. After repeated evaluations, we found that the latter two can indeed be profitable, while the healthcare and elderly care projects can break even. Of course, later on, we will introduce a series of high-end care tailored for specific groups."
Tang Jinglun said, "After Huayuan Health goes public, you will all hold a certain proportion of shares."
Xu Chunliang sighed inwardly; the picture painted sounded quite enticing. At least Tang Jinglun seemed more reliable than his brother, with a broader vision than Zhao Feiyang, but compared to them, Tang Jinglun seemed even greedier.
Tang Jinglun raised his glass and said, "Let’s toast together and accomplish this task. If I, Tang Jinglun, ever go against my original intentions, feel free to abandon, no! Spit on me!"
All three of them laughed.
The meal atmosphere was very harmonious. Xu Chunliang didn’t like idling his days away, and Tang Jinglun was eager to get things done. They found common ground in this aspect, and Tang Jinglun gave him considerable freedom. Tang Jinglun decided that the Huannian Health and Elderly Care Hospital’s project would be specifically managed by Xu Chunliang.
This meant that Xu Chunliang’s role as the preparatory office director was not just a mere title; he had authority.
As the meal was about to end, the private room door was pushed open, and in staggered a drunken Tang Tianyi.
Xu Chunliang thought this uninvited guest came to make trouble for him, but Tang Tianyi didn’t even look at him. Instead, he rushed toward Tang Jinglun, pointed at his nose, and said, "Tang Jinglun, you scoundrel..."
Dong Changhao, worried about him hurting Tang Jinglun, stepped forward to stop him, saying, "Tianyi..." But before he could finish, Tang Tianyi slapped him across the face. Dong Changhao staggered, destined to be on the receiving end of such confrontations. The key is, he couldn’t retaliate even after being hit.
Tang Tianyi cursed, "What the hell are you? Just a dog, eating and drinking from our Tang Family, yet you bite the hand that feeds you, and... you..."
He pointed toward Xu Chunliang, only to realize who was sitting there, swallowing nervously which sobered him up a bit. Why was this guy here? Since when has he been mingling with my uncle?
Tang Tianyi glared angrily at Tang Jinglun.
Tang Jinglun calmly sipped his tea and said, "Tianyi, aren’t you causing enough trouble already?"
Tang Tianyi burped and said, "You used me! You were the one who introduced that woman to my dad!"
At this moment, two bodyguards in black entered from outside. Tang Jinglun gestured to have them drag Tang Tianyi out, wondering how his brother could have raised such a useless mess. But for him, it was a good thing. If Tang Tianyi were any better, there’d be less room for Tang Jinglun within the Huayuan Group.
After Tang Tianyi was taken away, Dong Changhao checked his face with his phone. Tang Jinglun sighed and said, "Sorry for the spectacle. The kid is just hopeless."
Dong Changhao got up, indicating he would head back first. Someone who values his pride, it was deeply frustrating to get slapped by Tang Tianyi in front of so many people. He regretted getting involved.
Tang Jinglun and Xu Chunliang left together, seeing him off to the hotel entrance: "Chunliang, I hope this incident didn’t impact your mood."
Xu Chunliang smiled and said, "Every family has its problems. If I had a nephew like that, I’d beat him three times a day."
Tang Jinglun laughed heartily and said, "Okay, next time he gets out of line, I’ll ask for your help."
Xu Chunliang thought to himself that he didn’t care to get involved in the Tang Family matters, but he wouldn’t mind giving Tang Tianyi a lesson if he caused him trouble.
Outside the hotel, as the sky began to snow lightly, Xu Chunliang was about to hail a cab when he heard someone calling him from behind.
Turning around, Xu Chunliang saw Mo Han standing there in a black mink coat. Xu Chunliang walked over with a smile: "President Mo, when did you come to Dongzhou? Didn’t even let me know, so I could be the host."
"I’m not keeping you from being the host now. I’m hungry and just came out to find food. You treat me." Mo Han didn’t hold back at all.
Xu Chunliang nodded; there was food in the Marriott. Whether Mo Han came out looking for food or for him, only she knew. Having assisted him numerous times, treating her to a meal was the least he could do.
Xu Chunliang asked, "What do you want to eat?"
"Anything!"
Xu Chunliang pondered a bit; at this hour, there weren’t many options in Dongzhou, mostly barbecue. But seeing Mo Han’s classy and elegant attire, he couldn’t bear to take her to a smoke-filled place for something down-to-earth.
He pointed at Binhu New World across the street, where there were more dining choices and just picked whichever place they ended up at.
The two of them arrived at the Beijing Hot Pot Restaurant. Eating hot pot in the snowy weather was indeed comforting.
Mo Han ordered a set meal.
Accompanying her, Xu Chunliang had a little beer and asked when she arrived in Dongzhou.
Mo Han chuckled and said, "Is Dongzhou owned by your Xu Family? Why do I have to report every visit to you?"
"Not at all, I just wanted to officially welcome President Mo on behalf of Dongzhou."
"You can’t represent Dongzhou, and I’m not some President Mo." Mo Han clinked his beer glass with his, downing it in one go, and then smiled at Xu Chunliang. "But it’s always a pleasure to run into friends here. Otherwise, I’d be dining alone."
Xu Chunliang asked, "Are you staying at the Marriott?"
Mo Han nodded and said, "I just saw you chatting with Tang Jinglun."
Xu Chunliang said, "See, I knew you were following me."
Mo Han said, "You’re not doing anything shady, why are you afraid of being followed?" She dipped a slice of lamb into the hot pot, found the texture quite nice, and suggested Xu Chunliang try it too.
The waiter brought another dish to the table. "Please enjoy, sir."
"What’s this?"
"Sheep tail!"
Xu Chunliang’s chopsticks paused and retracted. He smiled at Mo Han and said, "Not very auspicious."
The waiter chuckled, but Mo Han shot a cold glance at him, scaring him into quickly turning away.
Xu Chunliang said, "Such a low threshold for humor." He added some sheep tail to the hot pot, saying, "I just don’t believe in such superstitions."
Mo Han remarked, "Some people out there think being crude is being charming."
Xu Chunliang smacked his lips. "Not bad, it tastes great! Do you want to try it?"
Mo Han replied, "I wasn’t talking about you, don’t be startled."
Xu Chunliang said, "What am I startled about? I know my own body’s condition."
Mo Han sneered, downing her beer in one go. This guy is really something, thinking she couldn’t tell he was intentionally asking the waiter.
Xu Chunliang raised his glass. "Welcome! If you have time, you’re welcome to visit Weishan Island."
He was just being polite, but Mo Han actually nodded and said, "Sure, I’ll go tomorrow."
"Ah... I can’t go back tomorrow."
"You really are hypocritical. When I have time, you back out. Xu Chunliang, can you be a little more sincere?"
Xu Chunliang said, "How am I not sincere? We’ve known each other for a while now. Have I ever been indirect with you? Do you prefer beating around the bush?"
Mo Han said, "When you need my help, you’re very straightforward."
Xu Chunliang shamelessly laughed, "That’s because I think of you as one of my own."
"Shameless! Who’s your ’own’?"
Xu Chunliang poured Mo Han a drink and used a serving chopstick to give her some slices of sheep tail, suggesting it tastes especially good with lamb.
Xu Chunliang said, "After such a long separation, why insult someone right when you meet them? Mo Han, take a brother’s advice, girls should be gentler."
"I’m older than you!"
Xu Chunliang glanced at her chest, "Not necessarily!"
Mo Han could tell exactly what he was thinking from his gaze, almost wanting to pour the pot of soup over his head. But between the soup and the wine, Mo Han chose the latter, raised her glass to clink it with Xu Chunliang’s, and asked, "Is Mei Ru Xue still in Hu Shan Town?"
Xu Chunliang replied, "She’s on leave due to some family matters and will be back at work next month."
"Coming back?" Mo Han’s lips curled into a meaningful smile.
Xu Chunliang realized Mo Han was being vindictive, deliberately bringing up Mei Ru Xue to disrupt his state of mind, openly stabbing him in the back. This girl has quite a grudge.
Mo Han took a small sip of her drink, softly saying, "She won’t be coming back."
Xu Chunliang said, "You seem to know something?"
Mo Han nodded, "I do, but I’m not telling you."
Xu Chunliang sighed, "Why can’t you be a little kind?"
"The world kisses me with pain, I repay with song?" She shook her head, "I’m finding more and more that kindness shouldn’t be wasted, especially on a bad egg like you."
Xu Chunliang put on a bitter face, "Am I just an egg to you?" 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Mo Han couldn’t help finally laughing. This guy really is slippery.
"Xu Chunliang, you’re something else. You got me scolded by President Luan. Always saying we’re friends, but is this how you treat a friend?"
Xu Chunliang said, "Speak with some conscience. Which promise have I not fulfilled? Didn’t I arrange for you to get rubbings of the dragon bones?"
Mo Han said, "You dare mention that? Why did you poke a hole in the dragon bone?"
"Heaven knows, the hole was already there."
Mo Han said, "Yeah right, like I’d believe that. From now on, we’re not friends."
"Or do you have some other thoughts about me?"
Mo Han looked at Xu Chunliang and said, "Now that you mention it, maybe I do."
"In what way?"
