Chapter 72: When Grandpa Lan’s Cane Delivers Justice... and a Near Castration?
Grandfather Lan had arrived just a minute ago, and while he was still downstairs, he climbed the stairs directly, planning to go to his grandson’s room, call out to that rascal, and surprise him. However, halfway up, he suddenly heard what seemed to be a scream.
At first, he didn’t react, but then he heard another cry, followed by some indistinct words.
After confirming that he wasn’t hallucinating and that there was indeed someone screaming for help, Grandfather Lan quickened his steps until he reached the door of his grandson’s room. Just as he was about to knock, he heard a voice, filled with panic, crying out:
"Lan Qisheng, you beast... you bastard! Get away from me! Let go of me! I said, let go!"
The voice sounded breathless, but the person kept screaming hysterically. From just listening, one could tell they were being bullied in one way or another.
At that moment, Sian, the one being "bullied," was completely pinned under the ravenous wolf above him, who refused to let go even after devouring him twice already. Sian could no longer bear it—he started struggling, trying to push the larger body off him. But he was weak at this moment, exhausted from the "physical exertion" of earlier. Maybe, deep inside, he no longer considered Lan Qisheng an enemy, which was why he couldn’t muster any real killing intent or enough strength to land a decisive blow and end things with a single strike.
"Baby, just one more time, alright? Then I’ll go get you something to eat. I already made breakfast for you earlier. Shouldn’t you reward your good husband, hmm?"
"Reward my ass! Get off me now! I’m starving!"
Sian was still cursing at the man who refused to budge and remained sitting on top of him.
Suddenly, he exploded: "Lan Qisheng, you bastard! This is a crime! This is r*pe! Get off me, or I’ll press charges against you!"
"That’s fine. Baby, for you, I’d be more than happy to go to prison."
Just as Colonel Lan was squeezing his brain for all the romantic words he could think of...
BANG!
The door to his room was kicked open with such force that the hinges snapped, and the door collapsed sideways in a miserable state.
Sian: "..."
Lan Qisheng: "..."
The two froze on the spot, neither moving nor adjusting themselves.
And so, the first thing Grandfather Lan saw upon entering was his bastard grandson pressing down on a beautiful young man beneath him. The boy’s upper body was bare, covered in all kinds of red and blue marks.
Grandfather Lan froze and then recalled what he had heard before kicking the door open.
His grandson. His very own grandson, who had never had a single girlfriend—or boyfriend—in his entire life, had assaulted a child?!
Grandfather Lan’s blue eyes, identical to his grandson’s, turned red with fury.
But who was Grandfather Lan?
Would he faint like a typical old man?
Would he have a heart attack?
Of course not.
As soon as Lan Qisheng regained his senses, he quickly grabbed a blanket and covered Sian, who was staring at the old man with a question mark practically floating above his head.
But to Grandfather Lan, all he saw was a "helpless child being bullied."
The boy’s amber eyes were red-rimmed as if he had been crying, and "fear" was clear in his beautiful golden irises.
Grandfather Lan was so furious that he didn’t even register who the other person was. He simply glared at his grandson and took slow, deliberate steps forward, his cane tapping against the floor with every move.
A bad premonition rose in Lan Qisheng’s heart. He immediately looked at his grandfather and tried to calm him down.
"Grandpa, it’s not what it looks like! Really! Please calm down and listen to me first! Put that thing down!"
But Grandfather Lan ignored him. He continued stepping forward in silence, his movements steady and ominous.
Sian sat on the bed, watching the play unfold with interest. He thought Grandfather Lan would simply scold or curse at his grandson.
Who could have guessed...?
In the next second, Grandfather Lan moved.
Despite being nearly eighty years old, he moved with lightning speed and lunged at Lan Qisheng, raising his "cane" high before swinging it down.
If Lan Qisheng hadn’t dodged in time, his face would have been the one shattered instead of the poor vase that exploded under the weight of the heavy blow.
Having missed his strike, Grandfather Lan attacked again—sometimes swinging the cane, sometimes using his fists, and sometimes even kicking.
And because Lan Qisheng "respected his elders," he couldn’t bring himself to fight back. He could only dodge and defend himself.
Unfortunately, despite his efforts, he still took a few hits here and there.
If he took his clothes off, his body would probably be covered in the same red, blue, and purple marks as Sian’s.
"Grandpa, stop! This hurts like hell! Stop! I said it’s not what you think!"
Lan Qisheng barely managed to dodge another swing of the cane and tried to reason with his grandfather, but it was useless.
At that moment, his eyes landed on Sian, who was watching the scene unfold with amusement.
The other’s eyes were curved in delight, shimmering like clear glass.
No. Not clear—those were the eyes of a demon.
Pure mockery and unrestrained schadenfreude.
Lan Qisheng let out a tired sigh at his lover’s mischief before pleading:
"Darling, if this keeps up, Grandpa’s going to kill me. You’ll be a widow. Can you live without me? Tell him we’re together! Tell him to stop!"
At that moment, Grandfather Lan seemed to snap out of his rage and looked at Sian with suspicion.
But Sian immediately adopted a shy and delicate demeanour.
The wicked glint in his eyes vanished in an instant, replaced by a vulnerable and fragile expression.
A thin layer of moisture coated his golden amber eyes, making them glisten like fragile glass.
His hands wrapped protectively around his chest as if he had suffered the greatest injustice in the world.
Lan Qisheng: "..."
Seeing the boy’s pitiful expression, Grandfather Lan lost his mind all over again.
But this time, it was different.
He raised his cane, and with a flick of his wrist, the wooden sheath slid off—revealing a gleaming, cold blue blade.
Sian’s eyes lit up in surprise, just as Grandfather Lan roared:
"Is this what I raised you to become? A monster who rapes minors? HAH?! You bastard! If I don’t castrate you today, I’ll change my surname! COME HERE!"
He advanced toward Lan Qisheng, brandishing his sword.
"Grandpa, STOP! We’re dating! And he’s not a minor! He’s in his twenties! Grandpa!"
Lan Qisheng was on the verge of tears.
He knew all too well how serious his grandfather was about "castrating" him.
His grandfather had always upheld strong principles in life.
If he truly believed Lan Qisheng had forced someone, there was no way he would let him off without punishment.
Lan Qisheng turned to Sian again, about to beg for help— ƒгeewebnovёl.com
And then, a loud, ringing laugh echoed in the room.
Sian tried to hold it in, but he couldn’t.
Grandfather Lan was truly impressive—he deserves his title as a "General", after all.
Even his cane could transform into a sword.
And the look on Lan Qisheng’s terrified face was priceless.
The two men froze at the sound of Sian’s laughter.
Still confused, Grandfather Lan turned to his grandson.
Lan Qisheng sighed.
"Grandpa, this is Sian. Don’t you recognize him? Do you think I’d be bold enough to force someone like him? I still value my life, you know."
Only then did Grandfather Lan finally recall Sian’s appearance and compare him to the cheerful boy sitting on the bed.
One couldn’t blame him for failing to recognize Sian at first. The teenager had once possessed jet-black hair, which cast an entirely different light on him compared to his current stark white hair.
Realizing his mistake in judgment, Grandfather Lan left the room after instructing his grandson to follow him downstairs.
"Was that fun? The old man nearly castrated me just now."
"Oh, it was very entertaining. It’s a shame he stopped halfway. Otherwise, my life would have been much more peaceful." Sian replied, wiping away the tears he had shed from laughing.
Lan Qisheng stepped forward as if entranced, then leaned down and pressed a light kiss on Sian. It wasn’t sexual, but for some reason, it felt far more intimate, leaving Sian frozen in place.
After a chuckle, Lan Qisheng ruffled Sian’s hair and told him to get dressed and head downstairs. He was certain his grandfather would want to have a conversation with Sian as well.
Lan Qisheng wasn’t worried about his grandfather opposing their relationship. He knew all too well how open-minded the old man was. As long as both parties were willing, he wouldn’t object—even if they got married. His grandfather was not the type obsessed with continuing the family bloodline. As long as his family was happy, he would accept anything, so long as it didn’t go against his principles or the law.
