Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 285: He is my father?!
Theo’s POV:
Even though the man before me was being mean and cold to me, I didn’t have the heart to walk away from him when Ivory told me to do so. I felt like I knew this man before, even though this was the first time I saw him.
Little Ivory was now literally trying to drag me away from the warrior man. But she wasn’t able to do it as I am so much stronger than her. "Ivory, stop dragging me! I need to talk to this man—"
Ivory’s jaw dropped at the words I said. "Why do you even want to talk to this man? He seems dangerous!"
He did seem dangerous to me! Strangely, I felt like he had the answers that I was looking for. This man could really help me! I ignored the little snooty Ivory entirely and looked up at the warrior man.
"Warrior man, will you please help me?" I asked him as politely as I could. This man is a warrior! Even that Angel lady had spoken to him with respect. The little me hoped that I had addressed the man politely. When the warrior man gave me a smirk, I understood that I didn’t address him in the right way. What mistake did I make?
"I am sorry, but I am not from this realm, and I don’t know the norms of this land," I said as calmly as I could and lowered my gaze down to his brown leather shoes.
"If you want to see your mother, then I can show you where she is," the man said while I was looking at his shoes. My ears couldn’t believe what he had just said. Does he know where my mother is?! But just now, I saw in my vision that she was dead. Perhaps whatever I saw before is not true. And this Ivory must have blurted out nonsense about my false vision.
"Please take me to my mother," my voice cracked up slightly as I was consumed by excitement.
The man gave out a wicked smile. "Then follow me, kids!"
I felt that this man was being savage; still, I had no other choice than to follow him. What else could I have done at that moment?! I was far away from my land, and I had found out that Cynthia was not my birth mother. I was completely vulnerable! And vulnerability always tends to attract dangers.
The warrior man took Ivory and me deep into the woods while the night sky had darkened the land entirely. Now I wasn’t able to see the beautiful forest around me even though the moon goddess was shining in the sky. Why aren’t her silver rays not reaching the land? Moonlight in my land Selene is very bright! Perhaps the moon goddess didn’t bless this land enough for some reason.
Ivory was calmly walking beside me without uttering a word. She seemed to be mad at me for following this man. Yet, I didn’t do anything to console my female pal. I did nothing wrong! I am just doing this to find out about my parents. She doesn’t understand me cause she knows who her parents are, unlike me! I lived the life of lie for five years, and it is fair that I know the truth, at least now!
The warrior man halted when we all reached a spot under a giant tree that was almost invisible under the dark night sky. The man lifted up his one hand, and suddenly a ball of blue flames emerged from his palms. Oh my! This must be the power of a Fae! How cool would it be to blast off flames like this from my hands!
The surrounding around me got illuminated from the blue flames of the warrior man. Then everything around me became visible to my eyes. My heart stiffened when I saw a stone on the ground next to the tree. The stone seemed to be placed on that spot by someone on purpose. Why would someone place a large stone here? I didn’t know what it meant!
Ivory, who was quiet for that long, moved near me and whispered in my ear, "I think that this is a grave! Someone must be buried here—"
I immediately looked up at the warrior man, hoping that he would say something. Why did he take us here?! The warrior man again gave me a vicious glare and said, "Why are you still looking at me, boy? You asked me to take me to your mother, and I did!"
"But....but... this is a grave of someone.."
The warrior man pointed his hand at the tombstone and said, "Exactly! This is your mother’s grave!"
I shuddered internally! So my mother is really no more. I had my hopes up for no reason. But this man is the reason for that. He told me as if she were still alive! When I was going through a rollercoaster of emotions, Ivory moved near the man who frowned at him.
"Why didn’t you say this before you took him here? Now he is worried because of you," brave Ivory yelled at him.
The man chuckled viciously and said, "If that boy can’t sink in the news about his mother, then what can I do?!" Then he glared at me and said, "And you pathetic little kid needs to leave this land soon! I don’t want you filthy Sirens to stay in this land—"
"But... I still don’t know who my father is! At least is he alive?" the innocent little me asked him.
The man’s face got dark because of my question. "Isn’t it enough that you have seen that whore of your mother’s grave?"
"Shut up!" Ivory snapped immediately. Then she turned to me and said, "Theo, this man is really speaking badly about your mother. Let us get out of here now!
The little me didn’t know what whore meant. So I didn’t actually get angry at the warrior man. But I was more intrigued to know why exactly he was disrespecting my mother. I had known nothing about the woman who gave birth to me. So I was curious about something about her! And by that, I ended up making the biggest mistake that had severe repercussions in my later life.
My personality got altered, and I had to join hands with the dark side because of that incident! Or maybe this is not entirely my fault! The fates are the reason for this. They made the innocent little me ask that forbidden question to the vicious warrior man.
"Warrior man, can you please tell me more about my mother? I know nothing about her, and anything you say will be beneficial to me...."
The man smirked and replied, "So you want to know more about that whore?"
The poor little me blinked and said, "But what is meant by whore? Why are you calling my mother that?"
I could hear Ivory slamming her palm on her forehead. But I could care less about her. My focus was entirely on the warrior man before me.
"You kid don’t know what it means?" he smirked. "It means that your mother is always so hungry that one man couldn’t satisfy her. She always wanted more and more! And sometimes she couldn’t keep it together that she begged for it—"
The little innocent me thought that my mother was hungry for food. How could I have known what he really meant?! If I had, then I would have taken his sheath and beheaded him right at that spot.
"So my mother didn’t get proper food?" I asked him innocently.
The warrior man shook his head and said, "Your mother wasn’t starving for food. She starved for men. All kinds of men! She wanted them all to satisfy her so badly! She was the biggest man-eater in all three realms—"
I was frozen while I heard little Ivory sob beside me. "Theo, at least now we can leave!"
Instead, I moved near to the man and said,"I didn’t completely understand what you said. But I think that you are speaking badly of my mother. Why are you insulting her?"
"Because I was one of the men your mother ate from," he sighed. "I begged her so much to leave me alone! I told her not to touch me. But she didn’t! She was so determined to steal my manhood and my seed. And she even succeeded in that, and she got pregnant with you—"
I was stunned to no extent by the words he spoke. The five-year-old me lived in a land full of pretty girls who had never uttered a swear word in their life. I was never exposed to the toxicity of abusive language until that day. It was very bizarre to hear abuse. And the worst part was that I didn’t understand what he said. But Ivory seemed to comprehend what the man said.
Little Ivory wiped her eyes and said, "Theo, judging by what he said, I think that he is your father—"
What?! This toxic man is my father?! It couldn’t be possible! I don’t want this man to be my father. The sad thing is that you don’t get to decide who your parents are going to be! The fates make that decision for us!
