Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 172: Back to the Cliff
Celestia’s POV:
I spent the next few days locked up in my room as I didn’t feel like facing anyone else. I avoided having conversations with my father, and I ignored my friends entirely.
My friends, too, didn’t disturb me much as they were busy with something that I didn’t bother to know about. Edwin was the only one who came to visit me.
Every time he came to my room, he bought me the blood of the innocent animals that he had hunted from the forest of light. Even though I told him not to hunt just for my sake, he doesn’t listen to me. He is a good friend!
Still, I can’t open up to him. I did wish to speak with one person, and that was the Perspicacious Fae Lord Samuel. He was the only one who gave me a negative vote, and I wanted to know the reason for that. But strangely, I didn’t see him in the castle after the court adjourned.
I feel that Samuel knew how I felt about this whole thing. I so wanted to talk to someone who understands what I am going through. Usually, Darius is the one who studies my emotions and advises me.
Strangely, he has not yet come to visit me. And he doesn’t seem to be around the castle much, just like Samuel.
Darius must be hurt by Father Oberon’s decision. He has been waiting to be officially crowned as a prince for more than a thousand years. Still, my father refuses to crown him. What could be the reason for this?
I am a Half-Demon now, and I am going to be crowned before Darius! This seems unfair even to me. I can’t imagine how hurt Darius must be now!
Just when I was pacing around my room and having these thoughts in my head, Edwin got in my room with a large golden goblet that was enclosed on the top with a plate.
His shiny golden armor and robe had stains of scarlet on them. Did he just go for a hunt again and bring me blood?
"Edwin! You don’t have to do this for me. I can catch my own prey."
"Your Grace," he said and placed the goblet on the wooden table that was close to the wall of my room. "I think that it is an honor to serve you, Princess!"
I know that his intentions are to help me, but it is getting overwhelming now. Still, I put a smile on my face and said," Thank you so much for helping me out. And would you please mind calling me by my name?"
"I am sorry, Celestia! From now on I will call you by your name. And please don’t worry that I will start to treat you like a princess. You will always be my friend."
"Thank you so much! It’s a relief to know that at least you wouldn’t be treating me like a Princess," I responded to him and lowered my gaze down on the floor.
I expected him to leave the room now, but he stood still in front of me and eyed me skeptically. "Celestia, I think you are worried about something. You can talk to me about it if you want."
How did he find that out? Is it that obvious that I am bleak? Perhaps I should just confess to him. He might help me out with this.
"It’s just that... lately Darius has been ignoring me. And I have a feeling that he disapproves of me getting crowned."
I regretted my words as soon as they came out of my mouth. Why didn’t I think before I said that out loud?
This is about Darius! It is not right to gossip about him with a Fae Warrior who is loyal to the throne. From now on, I should watch my words!
"Celestia, I am sorry. I can’t get involved in the affairs of the Royal family. It is against my principles."
He responded just like I thought he would. Edwin might be my friend and help me so much. But he is a straightforward man, and he would never betray King Oberon even if his life depended on it.
"Edwin," I hesitated. "I would appreciate it if you don’t say this to anyone."
"It’s fine, Celestia," he gave me a dimpled smile that my mind immediately thought about Silver Shadow. God! I was going to create a record by not thinking about him at least for a day. And it got ruined when Edwin smiled at me.
"But you should talk to him about it! It is possible that you could have misunderstood Darius."
I nodded and acknowledged the advice he gave me. Perhaps I should just talk to him!
"Okay, Edwin! I command you to take me to Darius wherever he is!"
I commanded him as a princess would just to mess with him. But Edwin played along with it and bowed down to me. "It is always a pleasure to serve you, my lady."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Edwin created a portal door directly to the cliff. I was obligated to ask for his help as I didn’t know how to create one myself. I used to do this stuff in my previous life.
Now, I am unable to feel my even golden sparks. But a few days ago, I was able to stun a manticore. After that, my sparks died again. With so much going around me, I almost forgot to focus on bringing out my powers.
As soon I got out of the portal, my eyes got teary as the feeling of nostalgia took me over entirely. The air still had the same aroma of the fresh sea breeze!
This is where I used to train! This is where Darius had taught me how to use my Fae powers. Now he was training the young Fae warriors.
I was surprised to see that there were a lot of young warriors. Usually, there were only five to ten of them. I should probably join them and learn to use my Fae powers!
