Forced to Marry the Sickly Billionaire-Chapter 370: Mrs. Shaw, You Look Beautiful When You Blush
Chapter 370: Chapter 370: Mrs. Shaw, You Look Beautiful When You Blush
About ten minutes later, Serena Summers could barely catch her breath and reached out to push Adrian Holt’s chest.
Adrian Holt reluctantly let go of Serena Summers, his deep eyes filled with desire.
"Get away from me, I don’t want to deal with you anymore."
Kissing like nibbling like a dog.
Ouch... it hurts!
Serena Summers pouted her lips, which were slightly swollen and looked even more enticing.
Her eyes shimmered with a foggy allure, adding a seductive charm to her appearance.
Adrian Holt buried his face into her shoulder, his laughter muffled, his chest vibrating with the sound of his chuckles.
His voice was deep and magnetic.
Serena Summers felt a tingling sensation in her ears, uneasily reaching up to rub them, her face full of embarrassment, "What’s so funny? Is it really that funny?"
"Hmm, I’ll stop laughing."
Adrian Holt stopped laughing, his rough fingertips gently caressing her tender cheeks.
"Mrs. Shaw, have I ever told you that you look beautiful when you blush?"
His tone was serious, and although there was a smile on his lips, there was no hint of joking.
Even his sweet nothings sounded so sincere, causing Serena’s cheeks, already flushed, to redden even more.
The man’s gaze was intensely warm, as if it could melt her.
Serena Summers felt uneasy meeting his gaze, she looked away with her head tilted back, but couldn’t suppress the curve of her lips.
Only when she calmed down a bit did she playfully say, "Aren’t I always beautiful?"
"Yes, my mistake. Our Serena is always the most beautiful.", Adrian Holt chuckled lightly, continuing her thought.
Confronting his earnest praise, Serena Summers felt her heart beating wildly.
Her almond eyes twinkling, she responded brightly, "Of course!"
She was quite confident about her appearance.
Downstairs, Master Shaw saw Professor Harvey to the door before voicing the concerns in his heart.
"Professor Harvey, tell me the truth, how long will Adrian probably take to recover?"
Professor Harvey paused, then spoke slowly, "Master Shaw, I really can’t guarantee this. The Young Master’s illness is quite unique; whether he gets better depends on him."
Master Shaw’s expression turned solemn, his grip tightening on his cane, "Is there really no other way?"
Professor Harvey reassured, "As I mentioned earlier, there has been progress today, these things can’t be rushed."
He understood Master Shaw’s concern for his younger generations’ health, but he was not a deity, and medicine is not omnipotent.
Master Shaw’s back hunched slightly as he sighed deeply.
He understood all these reasons, but sometimes he just needed a bit more hope.
After sending off Professor Harvey, Master Shaw silently returned to his room with the aid of his cane.
The next day, Serena Summers awoke to find the housekeepers busy around the house.
Several of them were bustling about in the kitchen, the butler supervised from the side; some were cleaning, some were mopping the floor, and others were arranging the furniture.
As Serena Summers massaged her sore lower back while descending the staircase, she asked, "Uncle White, what are you all up to?"
"Young Madam, you’re up? Isn’t today the family feast? Master Shaw said the Second Young Master is back and his illness is improving, it’s time to hold the family feast again."
Since the incident with the Second Young Master, the Shaw Family had canceled the feast.
Now that he had returned, it was time to resume the festivities.
When the Second Young Master and Young Madam move out, they could at least visit Master Shaw once every month.
Although Master Shaw doesn’t say it, deep down he can’t bear to part with them.
After Mrs. Shaw passed away, Master Shaw never remarried and always toiled for the family. Now that he is old, he should enjoy the blessings of his children and grandchildren.
He can no longer count on his two sons, so now his hopes are pinned on his grandchildren and their spouses.
Serena Summers nodded knowingly; she remembered that the Shaw Family indeed had this rule.
But after getting married, she and her husband have always lived in the old mansion, eating meals with Master Shaw whenever they wished, so it wasn’t so strict.
However, two years ago, the second branch was driven out of the Shaw Mansion and they could only return during the family feasts each month.
It is already noon, and she guessed that the people from the second branch would soon arrive.
Thinking this, a series of footsteps came from outside.
Serena Summers subconsciously looked up toward the direction of the door and saw Uncle Nathaniel Shaw with Aunt Evelyn Hart and Clara Shaw walking in.
Nathaniel Shaw came over with a smile that felt like a breath of spring, "Butler, Serena, it’s been a while."
"Uncle, long time no see," Serena responded with a smile.
The gazes of Evelyn Hart and Clara Shaw scanned around the villa, and then they visibly relaxed, seemingly looking for Adrian Holt.
A month ago, someone they thought was dead suddenly came back, scaring the mother and daughter severely.
That night they even had a nightmare and left dejectedly.
This time they originally planned to pretend to be sick and not come, but Nathaniel Shaw disagreed and insisted on bringing them along.
Unexpectedly, as soon as they entered, they saw Serena Summers, and Clara Shaw arrogantly lifted her chin and snorted coldly without speaking.
Serena just looked at her calmly, with a soft curve at the corners of her lips.
In contrast, Serena appeared gentle and refined, demure and elegant, making Clara’s reaction seem overly petty.
The color drained from Evelyn Hart’s face, and she tugged on Clara Shaw’s sleeve, signaling her to mind her image.
But Clara Shaw was already fuming, how could she care about maintaining her image?
Seeing the smile on Serena’s lips, she felt as if she had been greatly provoked.
A surge of anger instantly rose within her.
Clara Shaw gritted her teeth, wishing she could tear Serena’s face apart.
At that moment, Nathaniel Shaw who stood by suddenly spoke, "Clara, can’t you even greet people? Have I spoiled you too much before? Who are you showing that face to?"
Clara’s expression changed, and her face fell instantly, feeling extremely aggrieved, "Dad, I am your biological daughter, why are you siding with that b..."
"Shut up!"
Before she could finish, she was sternly interrupted by Nathaniel Shaw.
"Clara, have you forgotten what I told you before? Apologize to your sister-in-law."
Serena Summers crossed her arms, looking leisurely at Clara Shaw, waiting for her apology.
The apology didn’t matter much; what was important was... seeing Clara Shaw embarrassed.
This girl is the only daughter of the Shaw Family, dignified in status, but her mind doesn’t quite seem right.
Before, she had been used by Sylvia Lane to maliciously target her, which was bad enough, but now even with Sylvia gone, there’s been no change.
She didn’t know what she had done to make Clara Shaw despise her so much.
Being ordered by her own father to apologize to the person she despised most, Clara Shaw felt humiliated.
She hadn’t done anything wrong, why should she apologize?
Was she wrong? Serena was indeed not worthy of the title of the Shaw Family’s young madam.
But facing her father’s threatening gaze, Clara Shaw’s shoulders shrank fiercely, and she apologized reluctantly.
"I’m sorry, sister-in-law."
