Forced to Marry a Female Billionaire CEO-Chapter 576: Hit Me
Light invaded as soon as he opened his eyes.
A man's face suddenly filled Xu Ke's vision.
I never imagined the first face I'd see upon waking would be Duan Zhuo'e's, Xu Ke thought. If Bai Qian'er giving me artificial respiration was shocking, then Duan Zhuo'e doing it is downright terrifying...
"Stop!"
Just as Duan Zhuo'e was about to begin, Xu Ke endured the agony in his body and raised a hand to block the other man's mouth.
Duan Zhuo'e froze for a second, then his face lit up with ecstasy. "You're awake?"
"I'm awake. Just back off for now," Xu Ke said through clenched teeth, his face drenched in sweat.
"See? I told you I learned artificial respiration! It came in handy!" Duan Zhuo'e was thrilled, a look of satisfaction on his face.
Nearby, Bai Qian'er shot him a strange glance.
Xu Ke looked around and realized he was still in the car. Besides Bai Qian'er and Duan Chongfeng, no one else was inside. Looking out the window, he saw they were no longer on the Haisui Expressway but in a desolate wasteland.
"Where are the others?"
As Xu Ke regained consciousness, pain assaulted him like a tidal wave. His breathing grew rapid, his body trembled uncontrollably, and a coppery sweetness filled his mouth.
"Elder Tang is outside guarding Han Wang and the others. Ghost Elder and the rest went to find a doctor for you," Bai Qian'er explained, hurriedly pulling out a tissue and offering it to Xu Ke.
"Thanks."
Xu Ke took the tissue and pressed it to his nose and mouth, trying to stem the bleeding. As he spoke, he could feel a sticky wetness on his chest. Looking down, he saw a patch of blood that had yet to coagulate. It was clearly his own, freshly shed.
"How long was I out?" Xu Ke asked.
"Less than ten minutes."
"Did you get off the expressway right after I passed out?"
"Yes! There happened to be an exit, so we took it," Bai Qian'er answered, then added anxiously, "Never mind that for now. What's wrong with you?"
"It's hard to explain. Just help me up."
Xu Ke tried to sit up. Seeing this, Duan Zhuo'e, still proud of his attempt at artificial respiration, quickly moved to support him. "What are you getting up for?"
"Zhuo'e, take… take me to Elder Tang. He can solve my problem," Xu Ke gasped, the tissue in his mouth now completely soaked in blood.
The name 'Jade Mountain Lotus' might sound like a gentle medicinal herb, but I know it's even more potent than Kirin Ginseng or the Blood Jade Monarch. It's definitely one of the most volatile herbs a Postnatal Martial Artist could ever use. And as violent as the Jade Mountain Lotus is, the Dragon Essence is even more ferocious! The only reason I'm just bleeding and not dead is thanks to that year on the mountain, when the Medical Saint ravaged my body with potent herbs time and again. I know that even if these two rampaging forces don't kill me outright, if I keep bleeding like this, I'll die from blood loss sooner or later.
"Huh?" Duan Zhuo'e was baffled, asking instinctively, "Is Elder Tang a doctor? How can he solve your problem?"
Bai Qian'er also looked perplexed.
"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and take me to him!" Xu Ke shouted as a wave of dizziness washed over him, his anxiety mounting.
"S-sorry… I'll take you out now!"
Duan Zhuo'e finally snapped out of it and hurriedly helped Xu Ke out of the car. Bai Qian'er quickly followed to provide support.
After exiting the car, the scene that greeted Xu Ke was somewhat surprising.
In the distance, the Ghost and Poison Elders, along with Tang Yingchang, were trying to make phone calls, but the signal was clearly poor. They kept trying, only to stop and check their phones. Meanwhile, the Yin-Yang Elders and Shi Hongda stood by with a grimacing Fang Caizhe. In the center of the clearing lay Han Wang and the Military Spike Assassin, crudely covered with clumps of turf ripped from the ground. Beside them was Cultivator Qi's still-warm body.
Both of their faces were grim.
The moment Xu Ke appeared, all eyes turned to him.
"Mister Xu, how are you?" Tang Yingchang rushed over, his face showing his delight. With Xu Ke awake, at least half of his worries had vanished.
"S-still alive…" Xu Ke squeezed the words out from between his teeth, but before he could finish, another trickle of blood ran down his chin.
"Hah! Bleeding like that and you call yourself alive? Are you dreaming?" a sneer echoed from nearby. It was Han Wang.
"Shut your mouth! If Mister Xu dies, you won't live either," Tang Yingchang roared, whipping his head around.
Han Wang fell silent.
"They didn't cause any trouble?" Xu Ke's gaze was grim as he looked at the two men sitting obediently on the ground. He was a little surprised. Why are they sitting there so docilely?
"Right after you fainted, I fed them the Hundred-Day Bone Erosion Poison we prepared before leaving Sui City," Tang Yingchang explained. "That's why they haven't been a problem."
Soon after being captured, the Military Spike Assassin and Han Wang had been forced to drink the poison. This was something Xu Ke had arranged with him beforehand.
Just as he thought. Xu Ke glanced at the two men. They glared back at him with pure hatred but said nothing. Anyone would be furious after failing an assassination and ending up in such a miserable state, but they were powerless to do anything about it.
"I see."
Xu Ke breathed a sigh of relief. Now that the two were under control, he could relax and let Tang Yingchang help him disperse the medicinal potency. He had been worried they might cause trouble while Tang Yingchang was occupied with helping him, which would have been extremely dangerous.
"Let's ignore them for now." Tang Yingchang gestured for Duan Zhuo'e to step aside and took his place supporting Xu Ke. "Mister Xu, do you have a solution for your condition? The signal here is terrible; we haven't been able to contact a single doctor."
When they had first pulled off the expressway, their situation had been a mess: one person bleeding from all seven orifices, two nearly naked and scorched black from an explosion, and a corpse that was still warm. Fearing they would attract attention, Tang Yingchang hadn't dared go to a public hospital, instead having Duan Zhuo'e drive them to this remote wasteland. Indeed, as Tang Yingchang had hoped, the wasteland was deserted and wouldn't attract any attention. The lack of people, however, also meant a lack of signal.
Facing this helpless situation, Tang Yingchang could only hope that Xu Ke, the Medical Saint's Pupil, would have a way to save himself now that he was awake.
As Tang Yingchang asked his question, everyone else gathered around, their faces etched with the same anxiety as they looked at Xu Ke.
It was a darkly amusing fact that more than half of the people here had once come to kill Xu Ke, yet now their lives were in his hands. Those who had once wished for his death could only pray he wouldn't kick the bucket.
To everyone's immense relief, Xu Ke gave a slow, trembling nod. "I have a method."
"What is it?" everyone asked at once, overjoyed.
"Elder Tang, listen to my instructions…" Xu Ke gritted his teeth so hard his gums were exposed, the writhing pain forcing him to speak in halting gasps. The fiery medicinal potency and Dragon Essence felt like a thousand needles pricking every pore in his body.
"Alright, what do I do?" Tang Yingchang nodded eagerly.
"Hit me."
At his words, the wasteland fell into a dead silence. The looks of joy on everyone's faces froze.
