Food Stall: Customers Chase Me across the Country-Chapter 253 - 254: Pan-Fried Buns in High Demand
"Quickly head to the second floor of the Science Cafeteria for top-notch pan-fried buns, cheap and delicious."
"Hurry to the second floor of the Science Cafeteria to eat something delicious. Why waste words? Just come. Take it back? Not a chance. The owner said, once steamed buns get cold, they don’t taste good. Come quickly."
"There are soup-filled buns on the second floor of the Science Cafeteria that will soak you all over. Don’t believe it? Come quickly to taste them, or you’ll miss out!"
"Rush to the Science Cafeteria, floor two—amazing pan-fried buns await. What? You want a burger? You’re like a wild boar that can’t appreciate fine food!"
Whenever there’s something good, it must be shared with roommates. Once a student takes a bite of the pan-fried buns, they immediately pull out their phone to call their friends.
Some even call friends while still standing in line, unable to resist just from hearing about it.
After all, people from Huaxia don’t trick each other. If you sound the call too late and they miss out, what kind of godfather would you be?
"Hurry up, don’t dawdle. If you acknowledge me as your godfather, don’t blame me for not reminding you. The line is stretching from the second floor to the first. If you don’t come now, don’t expect to eat."
"Whether or not it’s delicious aside, these buns can squirt—spraying really far—and it’s quite fun to see others get splashed."
The line in front of Wang Fan’s window kept getting longer, just like that student said, extending from the second-floor stairs to the first floor.
The newcomer to the cafeteria had no idea what was happening, simply joining the end of the line.
"Hey, what are we in line for?"
"Not sure, I just saw a long line and thought I’d join in on the fun, hehehe."
"I haven’t heard of anything extraordinary at the second cafeteria, is it really worth such a long line?"
"I know, my roommate told me there’s a new soup-filling pan-fried bun on the second floor, capable of giving people a bath with its ’pee’."
"??? Are you sure you’re talking about pan-fried buns? Not some weird carbon-based creature?!"
...
Wang Fan was really fast, and these students weren’t slow either.
Although the owner’s buns required payment piece by piece, students at the back could pay in advance.
Anyone reaching the front just had to show proof of payment to Wang Fan and could take their buns immediately.
A pot of over 200 pan-fried buns, gone in less than 10 minutes and devoured by just a dozen or so students.
Except for a few true big eaters, those buying dozens were mostly buying in advance for their roommates, really embracing that godfather role.
Li Jing looked at the empty plate in front of her, licked her lips, and turned to Zhuo Qianqian: "Qianqian, could you get some more buns from your ’brother-in-law’?"
Zhuo Qianqian was drinking water, and almost spat on her face calling Li Jing "brother-in-law."
Jiang Chenchen looked at Li Jing with a mock-serious expression: "What are you talking about? He’s not ’brother-in-law’ yet. Before that happens, he better provide another plate of buns. At best, he’s a prospective brother-in-law for now."
"Prospective brother-in-law +1, he has to bring another 60 buns. I think I could eat 30 of them myself."
Zhuo Qianqian said helplessly: "You three are terrible, selling me out for a few buns?"
Jiang Chenchen snorted: "Don’t kid yourself. Without these buns, your heart wouldn’t even be with us. We’re just cutting our losses."
"Exactly, I noticed you were sneaking glances at the window while eating that bun. No one could block your fiery gaze."
"Just like those guys who watch you in the classroom, a total lovestruck fool."
Zhuo Qianqian’s face turned red as they teased her. Was she that obvious?
But maybe she was, especially since the owner suddenly appeared before her, leaving her still in disbelief, fearing he’d vanish the next second, waking her from a dream.
"Alright, get going. If you don’t hurry, we might not even get a few dozen buns."
Seeing Zhuo Qianqian’s love-struck face again, Jiang Chenchen and the others were speechless.
But thinking about it, it made sense. This foodie had met someone who could capture her stomach, so being captivated was expected.
Zhuo Qianqian shook her head: "No more buns, there are so many students in line, it’s not polite to cut."
"Hey, for the first time I feel that curiosity isn’t a good thing. It cost me a whole bun’s worth of meat juices, which were so savory."
Jiang Chenchen looked at the oil stains on Li Jing’s clothes with regret.
Li Jing got annoyed: "What, do you want to lick my shirt clean now?"
Jiang Chenchen chuckled: "Not a problem."
Zhang Ya glanced at her phone and said: "Alright, that’s enough jokes. Let’s hurry back to change clothes and wash up, then head to class. Qianqian, you’ve been away for more than ten days, and the teacher is pretty upset. I think you should bring some pan-fried buns to appease the advisor and a few teachers."
Zhuo Qianqian agreed it made sense. Still, with so many people in line, going straight over wasn’t quite right, and the teachers might already have had breakfast.
"Let’s not bring anything this morning, maybe tomorrow."
She planned to let the teachers know in advance or invite them to the second cafeteria for a meal.
"Then shall we? Do you want to say hi to your ’brother-in-law’?"
Zhuo Qianqian shook her head: "He’s so busy. I’ll just message him."
With that, she picked up her phone to send Wang Fan a message, heading off with Li Jing and the others, glancing back with every few steps.
Wang Fan saw the message and replied: "Bring your friends for lunch. I’ll make something delicious for you. Let me know in advance what you want."
Zhuo Qianqian didn’t expect Wang Fan to reply so quickly, and although she was pleased, she worried he was too busy. So she replied: "More pan-fried buns for lunch would be alright; the others clearly didn’t get enough, haha. We’re free after 4 p.m., and I’ll help you cook then."
"Oh, God, you’re being so sappy! How long has it been since you last saw each other, and you’re already messaging again?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Li Jing couldn’t help but tease upon seeing Zhuo Qianqian.
Zhuo Qianqian huffed: "The owner invited you all to dinner. What do you want to eat, so I can tell him?"
Before she could finish, Zhang Ya covered her mouth: "Of course we’re going! We’re not picky, just let ’brother-in-law’ cook his best dish!"
Jiang Chenchen added quickly: "I want braised pork! What the cafeteria sold before was so awful: salty, dry, and tough."
Li Jing put on a fawning face: "Qianjie, you’re incredible! I want crispy rice with sauce; can ’brother-in-law’ cook that?"
Zhuo Qianqian opened her photo album and showed them one delicious food picture after another: "Only things you can’t imagine, there’s nothing the owner can’t cook."
"Wow, amazing, just looking at it makes my mouth water."
"Incredible, today we’ll enjoy more buns for lunch, and anticipate a grand feast for dinner. Just thinking about it makes me drool."
