Evelyn Clayton’s lengthy discourse successfully quieted the two men.

Keith Donovan was bewildered and completely didn’t understand what Evelyn was saying; whereas James Grant’s gaze was deep, as if he was pondering.

After a long while, Keith Donovan looked at James Grant with confusion, seeing that he was also silent, he felt that James was as clueless as himself.

Keith Donovan slightly hardened his expression, "Evelyn, what are you trying to express with all this? According to you, whether James compensates you or not, it’s wrong? Moreover, what does this have to do with you using the child?"

Evelyn Clayton chuckled lightly, "Young Master Donovan, that’s why it’s important for people to read more books. Keith Donovan’s face showed a glimmer of realization amid his confusion.

"Suppose the current situation was reversed, Sharon always lived with James Grant, and James wanted to use her to soften my heart, to reconcile with me, then tell me, does this count as using Sharon?"

The room fell silent.

James Grant remained as quiet as a statue throughout, silently observing Evelyn Clayton.

He understood Evelyn’s meaning from the very start.
