After taking a screenshot of the person’s profile, Evelyn Clayton sent it to Sharon, asking for help in checking the IP address.

There was no reply from Sharon, but Evelyn didn’t mind much.

At this hour, the other person was probably asleep.

Evelyn was about to turn off her phone and go to sleep when the anti-tracking software installed by Sharon sent a notification.

She opened it and felt a chill run through her body.

The software indicated that a device with an IP was within one kilometer of her.

Instinctively, Evelyn stood up and walked to the balcony window to look outside.

It was pitch dark outside, with only the faint light by the swing set in the backyard flickering, illuminating a corner.

Evelyn checked her phone again, but the notification on the anti-tracking software had disappeared, showing no nearby devices.

She refreshed the screen a few times, but nothing unusual appeared.

Could it be that the person had left?

Evelyn slightly bit her lip and turned off her phone.

She went to Sharon’s room, sat by the bed, and gazed at Sharon’s adorable face under the dim night light. Her anxious heart began to calm down bit by bit.

Evelyn’s mood gradually steadied and cooled.

She would never let anyone harm her Sharon.

The next morning, Evelyn went to the main building for breakfast, and at the dining table, Silas Sinclair brought up the car accident on the Aethelburg highway.

Since Sharon was present, Silas didn’t speak too discreetly.

After the meal, the servant took Sharon to practice the piano, leaving only the adults at the table, at which point Silas openly discussed the matter.

"It is basically confirmed now that the person who died is Jack Shaw." Silas spoke with indifference, as if discussing the weather.

After a night of mental adjustment, Evelyn was equally calm.

Though Pauline Warren was afraid, she didn’t show it much, merely tightening her grip on Evelyn’s hand.

"For this matter, Shane, you need to come up with a strategy. No matter what, you can’t let Sharon be exposed to the public, understand?"

Shane nodded, "Dad, don’t worry. I’ve already had people start preparing public relations. No harm will come to Sharon."

Silas seemed somewhat satisfied, his expression relaxing slightly.

He looked at Evelyn, his tone much softer, "Evelyn, don’t be afraid. Your brother will handle this. As for Apex, you joined the new department, didn’t you? Just focus on that, you don’t need to worry about anything else."

Silas’s attitude towards Evelyn had always been like this. He didn’t seem very close usually, but when something happened, he was the first to reassure Evelyn.

Then he would hand the matters over to Shane to resolve.

In Silas’s traditional view, a man’s duty was to take care of the women in his family, ensuring his wife and daughter had no worries.

His traditional concept was so stubborn that if it weren’t for Evelyn’s insistence back then, he might have had her stay at home for leisure and wouldn’t even let her work at the company.

Typically, Pauline would argue a bit with Silas for Evelyn’s sake, but today was different. Pauline looked at Evelyn with a solemn expression.

"Evelyn, I know you’re capable, but no matter what, you should leave this matter to your brother, okay?"

Evelyn knew what they were afraid of.

They were afraid she would end up like Aaron Sinclair back then.
