Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!-Chapter 89: I’ve Never Taken a Photo with Her
The scorching and fervent kisses trailed from Clara Sterling’s collarbone all the way down, instinctively making her shiver, her hands wrinkling the sheets.
Ever since the first time, Silas Sheffield couldn’t get enough, and now almost every night was a repeat.
Clara quickly surrendered to the waves of desire.
Afterwards, Silas carried her to take a bath, Clara Sterling already too exhausted to move.
Silas gently placed her in the bathtub, softly wiping Clara Sterling’s body with a towel.
Clara leaned against the edge of the bathtub, tilting her head back and closing her eyes, enjoying Silas’s gentle care.
Suddenly, the man clasped the back of her head and kissed her.
Clara let out a soft hum.
She opened her eyes and reached out to push the man on her away, but he wouldn’t budge.
Clara, feeling weak and feeble, her voice soft and carrying a hint of playful reproach, "Stop it, we have work tomorrow."
"We can take the morning off."
"We’re going on a business trip on Friday, it’s busy these days, hard to take off."
"A business trip?" Silas kissed Clara’s collarbone, "Where to?"
"Ardendale."
Silas paused, "What are you going to Ardendale for?"
Clara: "Going with President Hawthorne to attend a technology exhibition."
Silas’s eyes turned dark, his tone changing: "Julian Hawthorne?"
"Yeah."
Silas was silent for a moment, then said: "Have him take another assistant."
Clara was puzzled, "Why?"
Silas didn’t want Clara going on a trip with Julian Hawthorne.
Recalling last time when Clara said Julian Hawthorne was handsome, it made him feel uneasy.
Out of selfish desire, he didn’t want Clara to go on a trip with Julian Hawthorne.
Moreover, Ardendale was too special for Clara.
Clara and Yvonne Sterling looked a lot alike.
Although Adrian Spencer wouldn’t attend this technology exhibition, if other members of the Spencer Family went, seeing Clara would inevitably remind them of Yvonne Sterling.
Silas had promised Yvonne not to tell Clara about her background, so he had to find an excuse and said: "Ardendale is too far, I’m worried you’ll be too tired."
Clara laughed softly, "I came to the Sheffield for work, not to enjoy myself. Isn’t work always tiring?"
Silas’s expression flickered, "I’ll miss you when you’re gone."
Clara took the initiative to wrap her arms around his neck and kissed him as if to comfort him, "It’s just for a day, leaving Friday, attending the exhibition on Saturday, and coming back to Veridian that night."
Silas: "Then I’m coming along."
With him there, there was no fear of the Spencer Family causing trouble.
Clara looked at him, amused, "Don’t you have other things to attend to?"
Silas’s voice was calm: "That technology exhibition in Ardendale is quite important."
"Alright then."
Just as the words left her mouth, Silas held her by the nape and kissed her, forceful and refusing rejection.
Clara was exasperated.
She had told him there was work tomorrow, yet he insisted.
This damn man, wasn’t twice enough?
Kissing, Silas sat in the bathtub, leaning against the edge, pulled Clara up to face him.
In the bathtub, the water rippled in waves that lasted long.
By the time they finished bathing and returned to the bedroom, it was already 1 a.m.
Clara Sterling was so tired that she felt weak all over and drifted off to a heavy sleep.
...
The next day, Clara Sterling was awoken by the alarm.
The space next to her was already empty; Silas had gotten up long ago.
Clara got up to wash up.
While changing clothes, Clara glanced at herself in the mirror.
Thankfully, Silas still had some decency, the marks were below the collarbone, hidden once she wore clothing.
Clara changed into a cream-colored suit, paired with a light blue blouse, her long hair clipped back with a shark clip, applied a light makeup and went downstairs for breakfast.
Downstairs, Silas Sheffield was dressed neatly, standing by the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room, on the phone.
"Grandma, I’ve told you not to meddle in my affairs."
Not sure what was said on the other end, Silas massaged his temples, his back showing the helplessness of a man.
Clara Sterling didn’t interrupt Silas, heading straight to the dining room.
Passing the living room, Clara heard Silas with a very helpless tone say: "Grandma, if you insist on having Thea Tate stay at The Veridian Branch, that’s fine, but I won’t give her special treatment just because you brought her in."
Clara paused.
So, Thea Tate was arranged into Sheffield by Silas’s grandmother.
Come to think of it, she hadn’t even met Silas’s grandmother.
It seemed the old lady really liked Thea Tate.
Clara didn’t say anything, pursing her lips as she lowered her head and walked into the dining room.
Silas finished his call and came into the dining room, seeing Clara Sterling quietly eating breakfast at the table, he paused, "Clara, when did you come down?"
"Just now."
Clara finished speaking, her expression unchanged as she sipped her milk.
Silas sat across from Clara, rubbing his temples, "Thea Tate was brought in by Grandma."
"Hmm."
Clara sipped her porridge slowly.
"Grandma is fond of Thea, but Thea and I are just ordinary neighbors." Silas explained, "I told them when I returned to Crestwood last time that I am married, to a woman named Clara Sterling."
Hearing this, Clara raised her head, a hint of surprise flashing in her eyes.
She hadn’t expected Silas to tell Thea directly that he was married.
And he also had mentioned her name to Thea. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Meaning, Thea now knew Silas was married.
Clara felt a bit better in her heart.
But thinking about the photo she saw yesterday, her gaze dimmed again.
Silas perceptively caught the change in Clara’s expression.
"What’s wrong, babe? Not happy?"
Clara bit her lip, honestly saying: "Yesterday, I saw a photo of you and Thea Tate together."
"A photo together?" Silas frowned slightly, "I haven’t taken a photo with her."
In fact, Silas hadn’t taken a photo with any woman.
"It’s a picture from your university days."
Saying that, Clara opened her phone and found the post on X.
The photo had climbed to number one in the top comments.
With 30,000 likes and over 7,000 comments.
"It’s this photo." Clara pouted, handing over her phone.
Silas took the phone, and upon seeing it, his eyes turned cold.
"It was taken without our knowledge." he blurted out, "I’ve never taken a photo with her."
Clara’s tone was tinged with jealousy: "The person who took the photo was your college classmate, and the picture was snapped randomly because the scene was beautiful, and they kept it until now."
"I’ll have it handled right away." Silas passed the phone back to Clara.
He immediately pulled out his phone and called his assistant Zachary Lynch.
"Remove all X posts related to me and Thea Tate immediately."
"Sure, President Sheffield."
Clara finished her porridge and stood up to leave.
"Wait a moment." Silas called after her.
Clara glanced back, "What is it?"
"A kiss before you go."
Silas walked over, pulling her into his arms.
He kissed Clara’s lips, not giving her time to refuse.
Just a light peck, a quick kiss before pulling away.
Clara pretended to glare at him, "You’ve smudged my lipstick."
Silas chuckled, "No, it’s perfect."
