Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!-Chapter 166: Be Sure to Thank Me Properly Tonight When We Get Home
Thea’s face turned pale, biting her lower lip with grievance, "Silas, you wronged me. I really didn’t do that thing..."
Upon hearing this, Clara snorted coldly, a look of disgust flashing in her eyes.
Victoria and Hannah hadn’t left yet, standing aside watching the drama.
Victoria exchanged glances with her daughter, communicating silently.
Victoria: What’s going on?
Hannah: I don’t know either. It seems like Uncle and Aunt and Brother and Sister-in-law don’t like Thea.
Victoria: Thea must have done something bad to make them dislike her.
Hannah nodded: Definitely.
Victoria tilted her head, signaling to go and ask Joanne Quincy.
Hannah nodded: Let’s go, ask Aunt.
"Silas, Clara, you chat. Hannah and I will go find your uncle." Victoria spoke.
"Okay."
After Victoria and Hannah left, Thea felt more at ease.
Her eyes clouded with a layer of mist, making her look somewhat pitiful, "Silas, I..."
Silas had no patience to listen to her excuses, interrupting her words coldly, "Tomorrow is the deadline."
Thea’s face stiffened, "Silas, I..."
"Apologize publicly online, or I will make the entire Tate Family pay for your actions." The man’s tone was irresistibly commanding, his gaze cold as the winter frost.
After saying this, Silas didn’t wait for her reply and left with Clara.
Thea stood there, stunned, clenching her fist tightly.
She came here today to plead for herself.
She didn’t believe Silas would be so ruthless to her.
She held a sliver of hope in her heart, betting Silas was just trying to scare her, wouldn’t actually take on the entire Tate Family for Clara.
It seems she miscalculated.
Thea’s nails deeply dug into her palm, her eyes flashed with coldness.
Silas, you forced me...
Victoria, with her daughter, chased after Joanne Quincy and Zeke Sheffield who had just left.
"Sister-in-law, why did you have that attitude toward Thea just now? Didn’t you quite like her before?" Victoria asked.
Joanne Quincy stopped in her tracks, snorted coldly, "She’s a typical deceiver. I couldn’t see her true colors before."
Victoria and her daughter exchanged glances, realizing they stumbled upon big news.
"What did she do to make you so disgusted with her?"
"Do you know about the recent scandal involving Clara and the fourth Hawthorne son from Ardendale?" Joanne Quincy asked.
"Yes, I know. It even hit the trending searches then." Hannah replied on behalf of her mom.
"Yes, I heard about it too." Victoria nodded.
Joanne Quincy sneered, "That was Thea’s doing behind the scenes. Clara is a well-mannered and sensible child with good character. She would never do anything to betray Silas. Don’t be fooled by Thea being a daughter of the Tate Family. Even after Silas’s marriage, she’s still not giving up, constantly stirring trouble behind their backs, trying to break Clara and Silas apart."
"Ah?" Victoria’s face showed surprise, "Truly a case of knowing the face and not the heart. Who would’ve thought she was like this? Is this how the Tate Family teaches their daughters?"
"Exactly, I get nauseous just seeing her now." Joanne Quincy didn’t hide her disgust.
Victoria frowned lightly, "I didn’t know Clara’s incident was orchestrated by Thea behind the scenes. I just greeted her earlier..."
Joanne Quincy said, "No worries, now you know. Next time you see her, don’t show any kindness."
"How does Silas plan to handle it?" Victoria asked.
"Wasn’t she originally the deputy general manager at The Veridian Branch? Silas fired her and wants her to apologize publicly online."
"Is Silas planning to tear ties with the Tate Family?"
Joanne Quincy nodded, "Yes, since the Tate Family doesn’t discipline their daughter, we Sheffield Family will do it for them."
Meanwhile, Clara asked Silas after they left, "What if she doesn’t apologize tomorrow?"
"Afterwards, none of Tate Family’s projects will succeed." When Silas said this, the oppressive aura he exuded made Clara pause.
He was too gentle and considerate toward her on normal days. She almost forgot Silas is the "Grim Reaper".
Clara smiled sweetly, suddenly wanting to act coquettishly towards him. She deliberately said in a soft, sweet tone, "Well then, thank you, hubby, for standing up for me."
Silas loved this side of her.
Especially with her calling him "hubby," it melted his heart.
The man’s eyes darkened, his Adam’s apple rolled, lowering his head to whisper in her ear in a husky voice, "Thank me properly when we get home tonight."
"..." Clara’s cheeks turned a shade of red.
The images from last night on the balcony flooded in, presenting in her mind like a movie.
And it was one of those indescribable action films.
The feelings were too thrilling, just thinking about it heated her entire body.
Stop.
What was she thinking, now wasn’t the time for such memories.
"Cough, cough..." Clara strategically coughed, "Um... I’m a bit tired, let’s skip tonight?"
Silas whispered in her ear, using a voice only they could hear, "No need for you to move."
"..." Clara’s face reddened as if about to bleed.
How come she never realized Silas had such a mischievous side?
"What are you two whispering about?" Kevin Kensington approached, "Be careful, lots of people are watching."
Ethan Fuller followed beside him, a teasing smile on his lips, gazing with curiosity and playfulness, "Wow, you guys are dishing out sweet lovey-dovey acts anytime, anywhere now?"
Kevin Kensington laughed, "For you, it’s lovey-dovey acts, but not for me, since I’m not single anymore."
"..." Ethan Fuller was speechless.
After chatting with them for a bit, Silas took Clara to greet other members of the Sheffield Family.
His second uncle Carter Sheffield and second aunt Michelle Morgan had two sons, the eldest named Miles and the youngest Simon.
Miles wore a deep blue custom-made western suit, his hair slicked back, handsome in appearance, speaking with warmth and a smile, very approachable.
"Silas, you finally got married, after being single for so many years, I was worried you’d become a non-marriage enthusiast." Miles said with a smile, "I’m only a year older than you, and my child is almost a year old."
Miles’s wife didn’t come back with him this time; the child was still young, and she wasn’t comfortable leaving him abroad to be cared for by a nanny, preferring to look after him herself, so he returned alone this time.
Second aunt Michelle Morgan agreed, "Yes, your parents were quite worried about your lifelong matters. Your mom asked me to introduce suitable girls now and then, but then one day she suddenly said no need to introduce anymore because you already had a daughter-in-law. After asking, I found out you were already married."
Beside them, Aunt Rose disapprovingly shook her head, "You young ones like playing with secret marriages, which is wrong. It’s unfair to the girl; a marriage should have a ceremony and reception, you still owe Clara a wedding, when do you plan to have it?"
Silas spoke the words intended for Rose but kept his gaze on Clara beside him, his expression tender and full of affection, "Aunt, rest assured, I will definitely give Clara a grand wedding."
"You’re good at instructing the younger generation, but your own lifelong matters aren’t settled." Carter Sheffield glanced at his sister Rose, "When are you planning to get married?"
Sibling dynamics between Carter and Rose was solid, such teasing criticisms were always treated carelessly by Rose, letting them in one ear and out the other, "I’m an advocate of non-marriage, and won’t marry in this lifetime."
