Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!-Chapter 131: Focus
After work, Clara Sterling first went to see Yvonne Sterling.
Ms. Cheney knew Clara Sterling was coming today, so she cooked her meal.
Clara Sterling accompanied her mother for dinner and chatted with her for a while, and returned to Prospect Hill after eight in the evening.
Walking into the living room, Silas Sheffield was sitting on the sofa.
"I’m back," Clara Sterling said.
Silas Sheffield stood up, walked over, wrapped his arm around her waist, and kissed her lips.
The kiss was brief and teasing.
Silas Sheffield took Clara Sterling’s hand, "Go try on the dresses, they’re all upstairs in the dressing room."
"Okay."
Clara Sterling walked into the dressing room.
The dresses filled three whole racks, at least thirty sets.
"So many?" Clara Sterling turned back to look at Silas Sheffield, eyes full of surprise.
"Yes, try them all and pick your favorite."
"There’s no need for so many..."
Clara Sterling looked at the tags on the dresses. These were all high-end designer pieces, each costing hundreds of thousands up to a million.
She tried on about ten sets, each looking very beautiful and fitting, as if they were tailored just for her.
Silas Sheffield sat on the sofa outside, and Clara Sterling would come out to show him every set, seeking his opinion.
Every time Clara Sterling pushed the door open and came out, a look of amazement flashed in Silas Sheffield’s eyes.
By the sixteenth set, Clara Sterling was too tired to continue.
She had only tried half and was already exhausted.
Clara Sterling walked out wearing a backless halter white fitted dress.
The dress was well-tailored, perfectly showcasing her graceful figure.
From the front, it seemed completely covered, but her fair, smooth back was exposed to the air, revealing beautiful shoulder blades.
Clara Sterling twirled in front of Silas Sheffield, then turned her head to look at her back in the mirror.
"This dress is too revealing at the back..."
A look of amazement once again flashed through Silas Sheffield’s cold eyes.
This time, there was something else in the man’s deep, dark eyes.
"You look beautiful in this dress." Silas Sheffield wrapped his arms around Clara Sterling from behind, his voice husky.
Clara Sterling’s exposed back pressed against the man’s chest.
Their bodies fitted perfectly, sparking electric currents.
Silas Sheffield lowered his head, gently kissing the white back of Clara Sterling’s neck.
Then slowly moved down, his warm lips kissing over her shoulder blades.
The gentle kisses brought tingling and numb sensations.
Clara Sterling’s face was tinged with a blush.
"This set is only for me to see." The man’s deep, magnetic voice sounded at her ear.
"Okay."
Silas Sheffield hugged Clara Sterling from behind, one hand pinching her chin to turn her head to kiss him.
The temperature in the room gradually rose.
"Wear this set and be with me, huh?" Silas Sheffield’s voice was husky, his eyes blazing.
Clara Sterling’s face was flushed hot, and she replied softly, "Okay."
At the final moment, Clara Sterling’s phone suddenly rang.
The caller ID showed it was Lisa Holloway.
Clara Sterling remembered Lisa Holloway pestering her at noon to talk about her romance with Silas Sheffield.
She said she would call after work in the evening.
Lisa Holloway remembered it.
But right now...
"Focus," the man’s husky voice said, completing the final step as he spoke.
Clara Sterling let out a soft hum, ignoring the phone, and focused intently.
...
Afterward.
The white high-end gown lay scattered by the bed.
Clara Sterling lay on the bed, too tired to move.
Silas Sheffield carried her like a princess to the bathroom for a bath.
Now, the large villa only had the two of them left.
Whatever they did, no one would disturb them.
It truly fulfilled what Silas Sheffield had said before.
—Do whatever you want.
...
The next day, as soon as Clara Sterling arrived at the office, she sensed a wistful gaze.
Lisa Holloway pouted, "Why didn’t you pick up my call last night? You promised to tell me the details of your romance. I was counting on hearing a real-life ’CEO Falls in Love with Me’ story."
Clara Sterling smiled, "Tonight, definitely."
"Hmph." Lisa Holloway pretended to be angry and glared at her, "Honestly, what were you doing when I called last night? Were you doing unspeakable things with your husband?"
She really hit the nail on the head.
Clara Sterling pressed her lips and didn’t speak.
Who knew just after Lisa Holloway spoke, Julian Hawthorne would walk past their workstations.
Clara Sterling felt very awkward.
She didn’t know whether Julian Hawthorne heard what Lisa Holloway just said.
Julian Hawthorne showed no expression on his face, not even glancing their way, and walked straight past them to his office.
Seeing Julian Hawthorne walk by, Lisa Holloway was startled and instinctively covered her mouth with her hand.
After Julian Hawthorne entered his office, Lisa Holloway looked guilty, pouting her lips and bringing her hands together pleadingly to Clara Sterling.
"Oh my God! I’m sorry, Clara, I’ll never be so reckless with my words again. Oops, President Hawthorne must have heard, ahhh, I’m a sinner!"
Clara Sterling sighed helplessly, "You, you should put a zipper on your mouth."
Anabelle Spencer arrived at her workstation and casually hung her bag on the chair.
"What are you two muttering about again?"
Lisa Holloway: "Don’t ask, it’s so embarrassing, I just misspoke, sob sob..."
Anabelle Spencer looked at her amusedly, "What did you say?"
Lisa Holloway made a pitiful face, "Spare me, if you keep asking, my friendship with Clara will come to an end."
"Then privately message me and tell me secretly." Anabelle Spencer winked at her.
"Alright, alright, work time now, let’s hand over the work." Clara Sterling spoke up to change the topic.
Today, there should be enough time to hand over all the work.
Clara Sterling organized files on the computer.
Suddenly, she received a WhatsApp message from Julian Hawthorne.
[Are you really married?]
Clara Sterling’s fingers paused.
So Julian Hawthorne didn’t believe she was already married before?
Clara Sterling replied with a "Yes."
Julian Hawthorne’s status showed "typing" for several minutes.
But ultimately, the "typing" status stopped, and Clara Sterling didn’t receive any message from Julian Hawthorne.
She didn’t know what he wanted to say.
Since he didn’t say anything, Clara Sterling didn’t intend to ask.
She continued to organize the documents and sent them to Anabelle Spencer and Lisa Holloway.
...
Isaac Sutton found out Quinn Hughes was the mastermind behind the rumors about Clara Sterling and, in exchange for a partnership with the Tate Group, forced Mr. Sutton to agree to break off the engagement.
After the divorce statement was released, Quinn Hughes, following her father’s imprisonment and the Hughes Family’s bankruptcy, once again became the laughingstock in the social circle.
Those who didn’t get along with her before, taunted her every few days.
Quinn Hughes was mentally and physically exhausted, unable to eat or sleep well every day.
This afternoon.
Quinn Hughes took advantage of everyone downstairs for lunch and went alone to the chairman’s office.
She knew Graham Sutton was at the company today.
Quinn Hughes knocked on the door and went inside.
Graham Sutton was sitting behind the desk, looking at the reports.
Seeing Quinn Hughes arrive, Graham Sutton gave her a gentle smile, "Young Miss Hughes, what can I do for you?"
Quinn Hughes quietly locked the office door behind her, walked over, and cried like falling petals in front of Graham Sutton.
