Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!-Chapter 121: Adrian Spencer Speaks with Clara Sterling
Clara Sterling looked over.
The first thing she saw was a pair of shiny black leather shoes, then the long legs encased in formal trousers, and finally that mature and handsome face.
The visitor stood about 1.8 meters tall, dressed in a dark gray suit, with a slim and elegant physique and excellent demeanor.
If Anabelle hadn’t called out "Dad" to him, Clara Sterling would never have imagined this man was actually from their parents’ generation.
He looked no older than his thirties, completely youthful.
Adrian Spencer walked over and immediately noticed Clara Sterling beside Anabelle.
He paused slightly, his gaze trembling.
Anabelle stood up to greet him, "Dad, you’re here."
Adrian Spencer responded with a "hmm," and as he studied Clara Sterling’s face, he was briefly lost in thought.
"Dad, these two are new friends I’ve just made," Anabelle began to introduce, "Her name is Clara Sterling, and her name is Lisa Holloway."
"Sterling?" Adrian Spencer was slightly taken aback, his gaze seemed to look through Clara Sterling at a familiar figure from the past.
"Hello, Uncle Spencer," Clara Sterling greeted with a slight smile.
That smile made Adrian Spencer momentarily disoriented.
So alike, truly so alike.
Anabelle leaned in and whispered, "Dad, isn’t it remarkable? When I first saw her, I was stunned too, but I found out after asking, Clara shouldn’t be the sister."
After Anabelle got close with Clara Sterling, she had asked about Clara Sterling’s father.
Clara Sterling told her that her father passed away when she was very young.
Anabelle had specifically asked for her father’s name at that time.
Anabelle whispered to Adrian Spencer, "Clara’s father’s surname was Yu, and he passed away when she was very young."
So that’s it?
Adrian Spencer calmed himself and warmly said, "Hello to both of you. Welcome to Anabelle’s birthday party."
After greeting Anabelle’s dad, Clara Sterling and Lisa Holloway wandered off elsewhere.
Anabelle’s villa was huge, and she let them explore freely.
Lisa Holloway’s family conditions were quite good, but they only had two apartments in a residential area in the city.
She had never been inside such a grand villa before.
Excitedly, she took Clara Sterling on a tour everywhere.
"Wow, such a big swimming pool! Rich people truly know how to enjoy themselves!"
"Wow, this garden is bigger than the size of my house!"
"Wow, look at the fish in this pond. I saw online once; a blogger said each of these fish costs tens of thousands!"
Clara Sterling looked at Lisa Holloway and felt like she was seeing herself for the first time visiting the Sheffield Family’s villa.
Back then, seeing the luxury villa, she was just as surprised and envious as Lisa Holloway now.
Clara Sterling pressed her lips into a smile, "I see them, I see them."
This scene was coincidentally witnessed by Mandy Lynn, who was sitting on the terrace upstairs chatting with friends over tea.
Mandy Lynn rolled her eyes at Lisa Holloway and Clara Sterling, "Ugh, such country bumpkins who’ve never seen the world."
A friend next to her asked, "Mandy, do you know them?"
Mandy Lynn snorted disdainfully, "There’s no way I would know such poor folks."
The friend covered her mouth and giggled, "Indeed."
Downstairs.
Lisa Holloway pulled Clara Sterling around for a tour before sitting down for a break on the garden’s wooden bench.
The two chatted for a while, and then Lisa Holloway suddenly spoke excitedly.
"Hey? Am I seeing things? Clara, look, isn’t that Jason Giles over there?"
Lisa Holloway rubbed her eyes and nudged Clara Sterling with her elbow.
Clara Sterling followed her gaze.
Sure enough, the young man wearing a white shirt chatting with others not far away was Jason Giles.
Actually, rather than a man, it was more appropriate to say he was a youth.
Jason Giles, a second-tier male celebrity in the entertainment industry, was a kid recently turning seventeen, adored by many female and maternal fans.
Once Lisa Holloway confirmed he was Jason Giles, she stared with wide eyes.
"Oh my, I knew Anabelle’s family was wealthy, but I didn’t know they were so rich—able to invite a celebrity from the entertainment world!"
She excitedly shook Clara Sterling’s arm, her eyes brimming with stars.
"Ah, ah, ah, it’s Jason Giles! My favorite entertainment world’s little brother! Why didn’t Anabelle mention she knows Jason Giles earlier?"
Clara Sterling chuckled, "You never told her you liked Jason Giles either. If you had, maybe you could’ve succeeded as a fan already."
Lisa Holloway looked thrilled, rubbing her hands together excitedly, "I must try to take a photo with him and ask for his autograph!"
Clara Sterling curved her lips into a smile, "Go on, good luck."
"Clara, quickly help check if my hairstyle is messy, or if my makeup is smudged?"
"Don’t worry, your hairstyle is perfect, and your makeup is flawless. You look great."
"Really?" Lisa Holloway hesitantly questioned, a bit insecure after her excitement, "Do you think he will agree to a photo with me and an autograph?"
Clara Sterling thought for a moment, then said, "Considering Anabelle’s influence, he probably will."
"Alright, I’m going."
"Go on."
Clara Sterling’s gaze followed Lisa Holloway as she approached her favorite celebrity step by step.
Lisa Holloway stopped halfway, turned around nervously to glance at Clara Sterling.
Clara Sterling gestured to her with a "good luck" sign.
Lisa Holloway took several deep breaths to muster the courage to move forward again.
Clara Sterling, fully absorbed in watching Lisa Holloway’s progress, didn’t notice someone approaching her.
"Excuse me." A gentle, rich voice echoed behind her.
The voice seemed somewhat familiar. Clara Sterling turned around.
Adrian Spencer was standing behind her.
Clara Sterling’s gaze slightly trembled, somewhat surprised.
Didn’t Anabelle say her dad would just deliver a gift and chat briefly before leaving?
She mentioned elders staying would dampen the fun for everyone at a youth party.
After she and Lisa Holloway toured the villa and chatted for more than ten minutes, she thought Anabelle’s dad had left.
Unexpectedly, not only had he not left, he even approached her to greet.
Actually, earlier, Clara Sterling had noticed Adrian Spencer’s momentary distraction when he saw her.
She was quite puzzled, but it wasn’t proper to ask.
Now, Adrian Spencer sought her out, Clara Sterling knew he must have something to say.
She greeted with a polite smile, "Hello, Uncle Spencer."
"Hello." Adrian Spencer’s expression was gentle, "May I have a word with you?"
"Of course."
Clara Sterling agreed, yet Adrian Spencer didn’t immediately speak.
He seemed to be contemplating how to begin.
