Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk-Chapter 1004: I Once Had Several Fling Affairs
"Besides old friends, try not to discuss anything else. Don’t give others the opportunity to exploit gaps. Understand?"
"I understand what you mean."
Then, Jasper Sinclair instructed Louis Hayes to arrange Professor Bishop and Damien’s first private meeting.
After everyone in the lab left, only Jasper Sinclair was left, standing tall and silent.
According to the current progress, the poison remaining in Nora Northwood’s body might not be resolved until after the new year.
Louis Hayes returned unexpectedly, the noise interrupting Jasper Sinclair’s thoughts: "Boss, over at Professor Bishop’s side, do we need to send someone else to monitor?"
"No need, he will manage the situation well."
After their recent conversation, Jasper Sinclair did not believe Professor Bishop would dare risk offending him.
Detention Room.
Damien met Professor Bishop, without the agitation of that day, instead appearing calm and composed.
"Young lady, you know me, don’t you?"
Professor Bishop slightly bent over, carefully studying the contours of Damien’s face under the transparent lenses, feeling an indescribable familiarity.
This time, Damien responded with infinite indifference.
"I don’t know you."
"The first time you appeared in front of me, you called me dad."
"Perhaps I mistook you for someone else. There are so many people in the world who look alike. Mistaking someone shouldn’t be surprising." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"My intuition tells me you didn’t mistake me."
"An old man halfway to the grave, talking to me about intuition!"
Damien’s attitude was truly unfriendly, precisely this unfriendly attitude made Professor Bishop certain there must be some sort of connection between them.
"I heard you’re from Paris."
"Heard about it? It’s false!"
Professor Bishop paused silently for a moment, contemplating thoroughly before speaking of a story from the past.
"When I was still young, I went to Paris too. I spent three... four years... perhaps five years there. It’s been too long, so long that I don’t remember the specific days. Anyway, I had a few connections in Paris."
A few seconds later, he heard Damien’s sneer, followed by contemptuous and disdainful words: "Fleeting romance?"
"Back then, I was very young, at least dozens of years younger than now. You know, young people tend to make impulsive decisions."
Damien held a compromising attitude towards this view.
Thus, she remained silent.
From a certain angle, leaving the homeland where she had lived for over twenty years to come to a completely unfamiliar place was impulsive as well.
Even though, psychologcially now, she deeply regretted it.
Professor Bishop noticed her expression, which could be described with the words "complicated and indescribable."
"Could you tell me your mother’s name?"
Professor Bishop asked, adjusting his glasses frame with his fingers, with a sophisticated smile on his lips.
Damien’s empathy from the previous second vanished immediately upon hearing this question.
"Put your reading glasses on properly, take a good look, think carefully about your few fleeting romances!"
"I am very sorry, maybe we should adopt a more direct approach."
Damien only felt that she was about to suffocate. The family she always longed for turned out to be like this?
Her whole heart started becoming numb.
Professor Bishop noticed her change, frowned, "Damien, I plead with you to tell me."
