Chapter 60: Chapter 60: I Want to Bath with You

Alan Morgan shut his mouth. Had he been talking a lot these past few days? No, that wasn’t right. He was always talkative. Why hadn’t he heard Maxwell Peary complain about him being too talkative before? Tsk, tsk, when something is out of the ordinary, there’s always a reason. Nine times out of ten, it was because of the sister-in-law who had just gone upstairs.

"But Boss, you got married so quietly, didn’t you?" This was Maxwell Peary they were talking about! He should have had a lavish, century-defining wedding, be showered with praise, and announce it to the whole world. Keeping things so hushed wasn’t Maxwell’s style at all.

"We’re not planning to hold a wedding ceremony at the moment." This was Nia Mitchell’s wish as well. They had discussed it before; they would hold the wedding later, once things had stabilized. Many people knew what had happened at her engagement ceremony. If she married again so quickly, she was afraid it would create a bad impression. Moreover, Maxwell Peary didn’t want her to be suddenly drawn into the scheming and power struggles of the upper echelons. He planned to resolve his family matters as quickly as possible to provide her with the best protection.

"I don’t want anyone else to know about my marriage," Maxwell Peary instructed, looking at Alan Morgan.

Alan Morgan nodded in agreement. Since it was an order from his boss, he would certainly do his utmost to comply. Besides, it was just a matter of concealing something, not too difficult.

"Your sister-in-law is going back to the Company tomorrow. Make the arrangements."

Alan Morgan nodded. In the Boss’s Company, what the Boss says, goes. Even if his sister-in-law wanted to go on a rampage, no one would stop her.

"She doesn’t want anyone to know her identity," Maxwell Peary added.

Alan Morgan nodded again. Let her have her fun.

...

Upstairs, Nia Mitchell had no idea what the two men below were discussing. She was happily humming a little tune as she filled the bathtub. She wasn’t really thinking about all sorts of miscellaneous things; her happiness was simply because she had met her idol.

Yes, Nia Mitchell’s idol wasn’t some big Star, but the founder of the MC Group. Who could have imagined that a twenty-nine-year-old man had established the MC Group five years ago, and that it would develop so rapidly? Today, MC Group had become a legend in the Commercial World, a classic success story studied in the management departments of major universities. Take her school, University A, for example. Even though she was in the Chinese Department, the professors often mentioned this group in class.

Nia Mitchell smiled as she lay in the enormous bathtub, letting out a comfortable sigh. The hot water soothed many of the aches in her body. She had no idea that a certain someone downstairs, after quickly finishing his instructions to Alan Morgan, had dismissed his Special Assistant and grandly made his way upstairs.

CLICK!

The Bedroom door opened, the slight sound drowned out by the singing from the bathroom.

"Nia?" Maxwell Peary leaned against the bathroom door, a smirk playing on his lips as he called out. He could just imagine how that little Rabina Mitchell in the bathroom would jump at the sound of his voice. It had to be said, Maxwell Peary really knew that woman damn well.

Nia Mitchell’s singing stopped abruptly. She strained her ears, listening carefully to the sounds outside the door. Did she just hear Maxwell Peary call her?

"Nia? Are you in there?"

"Yes!" Nia Mitchell replied anxiously, as if afraid someone would barge in at any moment.

"Uncle Peary, do you need to use the bathroom? You can use the one in the Guest Room." Nia Mitchell reminded him kindly. Someone’s using this one, so you’ll have to make do, Mr. CEO. Worst case, you can have the Master Bedroom next time, and I’ll use the Guest Room.

Maxwell Peary’s lips curved into a smile, but his voice was serious when he spoke. "You’re asking me to use the Guest Room?"

Nia Mitchell pouted. Alright, sending him to the Guest Room did seem a bit inappropriate. "Well, I’ll be done soon. Just wait a little longer."

As she spoke, Nia Mitchell quickened her pace, stepping out of the bathtub and turning on the shower to rinse off.

"But... what if I want to bathe with you?"
