Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 596 - 595: Go Buy a Newspaper and Read It
Shirley Grant walked out of the ward with her phone in hand. Because of the last incident, she purposely walked a considerable distance this time.
Ethan Martinez was on the film set. These few days, because of the situation with Gerry Peary, a lot of work had been delayed. He hadn’t even had any time to visit the hospital these past couple of days.
When he saw that it was Shirley Grant calling, he answered.
"What’s wrong?"
Ethan Martinez put on his sunglasses and walked towards a small grove of trees.
"’Do you know where Alan Morgan is?’ Shirley Grant finally asked. It was reasonable to assume that Ethan Martinez would know the whereabouts of such a significant figure as Alan Morgan.
Hearing her question, Ethan Martinez paused.
After hesitating for a moment, he realized that he couldn’t hide this from her, as everyone on Main Street knew about it.
"Just go buy a newspaper from the newsstand, and you’ll know."
After saying that, Ethan Martinez paused again.
"Sis, I won’t say anything else. I’ll support whatever you do now. I can also protect you now."
After hanging up, Shirley Grant walked out of the hospital.
The newspaper depicted Alan Morgan, tubes inserted all over him. Unsteady, she dropped the paper. Injured! Why? She froze, then picked it up, tears filling her eyes, her vision blurring.
He actually went looking for her and got hurt in the process.
At this thought, every bit of strength seemed to drain from her body in an instant.
Slowly, she squatted down. Regardless of the onlookers, she finally burst into tears.
The newspaper painted Alan Morgan’s condition in a desperate light.
Tears streamed down her face, and she began to shudder in fear.
Gerry Peary is already sick; nothing more can happen to Alan Morgan.
At this thought, she suddenly stood up and hurried back to Gerry Peary’s ward.
At that moment, she longed to see Gerry Peary, to see him healthy.
Gerry Peary was in his ward, holding a toy and looking delighted.
"Mommy!"
Upon seeing Shirley Grant, he immediately put down his toy and looked at her joyfully.
"Mommy, have you been crying?"
Seeing her red eyes, even little Gerry Peary could tell.
Upon seeing this, she quickly approached him.
"Mommy hasn’t been crying; it’s just that some sand got into my eyes."
She often said this, but Gerry Peary didn’t believe her.
"Mommy, is my illness getting worse?"
He often saw his mother crying, and it was usually because of these things that Shirley Grant would cry.
"No, why would Gerry Peary think that?"
Shirley Grant was visibly anxious, not wanting him to worry unnecessarily.
"Gerry Peary isn’t getting any worse. As long as Gerry Peary behaves, he’ll be better soon. Mommy needs to go see Daddy in a little while. Can Gerry Peary stay alone in the hospital, okay?"
She reached out and touched Gerry Peary’s face.
"Mommy, can Gerry Peary come along?"
Gerry Peary’s face lit up with a smile, looking incredibly happy. If he could go with Mommy, he would definitely be very happy.
"But..."
Shirley Grant wanted to refuse. After all, Gerry Peary wasn’t in good health, and Alan Morgan was seriously injured. That sight... even she had been startled by it, let alone Gerry Peary.
Such a scene was terrifying.
She didn’t dare let Gerry Peary see it.
"Can’t I?"
Gerry Peary looked at Shirley Grant with innocent eyes, his heart aching as he saw the redness in hers.
If Mommy doesn’t agree, does that mean I won’t get to see Daddy? Or will I have to wait a very long time?
"I really want to go, Mommy. Please take me with you, okay? Gerry Peary promises to be good."
Gerry Peary blinked, his face full of longing.
