Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 594 - 593: What Does This Mean, Young Master Lewis?
This is utterly unethical.
However, it was indeed something Maxwell Peary was capable of orchestrating.
After some thought, Owen Lewis found he was actually willing to be the instigator. So, he casually dialed Alan Morgan’s number.
"Mr. Morgan, you’ve become rich and forgotten about me now, haven’t you?"
As soon as the call connected, Owen Lewis took the initiative to speak first.
"Young Master Lewis, what are you talking about?"
It was the voice of Alan’s father on the other end.
Owen Lewis immediately furrowed his brow. He pulled the phone away from his ear to check the number; it was, indeed, Alan Morgan’s.
"The Morgan Group is thriving now, and everyone says it’s due to your shrewd management. However, many others don’t seem to think so. What’s your opinion?"
Owen Lewis sat down, a broad smile spreading across his face.
"What are you implying, Young Master Lewis?"
Mr. Morgan (Alan’s father) instantly furrowed his brows, looking quite displeased.
Although many people had been saying such things privately, he had never paid them much mind. But now that someone dared to say it to his face, he found it particularly grating.
"My meaning is simple."
Mr. Morgan, his face gloomy, turned to look at Alan Morgan, who lay pale on the hospital bed.
"He’s comatose."
The response seemed somewhat random, but it was indeed what Owen Lewis wanted to know.
Owen’s earlier words were simply to inform him that the Morgan Family’s current success was largely thanks to Maxwell Peary.
Everyone knew that Alan Morgan, Maxwell Peary’s highly capable subordinate, was the sole heir to the Morgan Group, despite having publicly announced long ago that he had left the Morgan family.
However, the blood ties were still there; how could such a bond be so easily severed? What if he were to return?
And sure enough, Alan Morgan had now indeed returned.
"He went to the mountains to find someone and fractured his leg during a downpour," Mr. Morgan glanced at Alan Morgan and offered this explanation.
In reality, it was far from that simple; Alan Morgan was very severely injured.
Two hours after hanging up, Owen Lewis appeared at a private hospital in Capital Town.
Inside the Intensive Care Unit, Alan Morgan was covered in tubes. Cold, impersonal monitors displayed his precise vital signs.
He looked through the transparent glass, his brows tightly furrowed. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Alan’s father had already left; Mrs. Morgan, Alan’s mother, sat outside.
"He’s been unconscious for three days."
His condition had been fluctuating over the past few days—sometimes better, sometimes worse—keeping everyone on edge. He still hadn’t regained consciousness, and seeing Alan like this made his mother so anxious she could neither eat nor sleep.
"Don’t worry, Mrs. Morgan."
Owen Lewis knew Alan cherished his mother deeply. Unlike Alan’s father, Mrs. Morgan had always supported Alan.
He would never harm those his good brother cherished.
"He will be fine."
Owen Lewis’s brows were tightly furrowed as he placed his hand on the glass. Through it, he could see many parts of Alan’s body wrapped in bandages.
Faint, brick-red stains of blood were visible on the bandages.
"Please rest assured, Mrs. Morgan."
Anyone who dared to harm Alan Morgan would not get away with it. Not a single one.
With that, he turned to leave but paused just as he was about to take a step.
"Does Shirley Grant know about this?"
Alan had gone into the mountains to look for Shirley Grant.
"I’m not sure."
Mrs. Morgan’s response was as expected. But Owen Lewis was certain she knew nothing. After all, even Alan couldn’t find her.
"Get someone to place an announcement in the papers: Morgan Group’s CEO, Alan Morgan, is severely wounded and in critical condition."
Searching for someone in the mountains shouldn’t have been difficult for Alan, yet he’d actually been ambushed!
