Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 553 - 552: This Rejection, Too Harsh
"Professor Northwood, could you please stop defending Nia Mitchell?" Julia Adams sat there in agony, tears streaming down her face. "Don’t let her fool you. What’s so good about her? I really like you, how could you..." How could he do this to her?
She spoke as if everything were Nia Mitchell’s fault. Nia Mitchell has gone too far!
The classroom was immediately filled with indignation. How could Nia Mitchell do such a thing? It’s really true, you can’t judge a book by its cover.
"Nia Mitchell, how could you speak ill of Julia?"
"Exactly! Julia is so good; many people like her."
"It’s because so many people like her that someone got jealous."
"Honestly, I’ve always thought Julia was nice. She and Professor Northwood are a perfect match."
"Yeah, yeah! Professor, if you supposedly liked Julia before, why are you acting this way now?"
"Nia Mitchell is too much!"
...
Instantly, Nia Mitchell became the embodiment of evil in their eyes. Everyone started criticizing her. So, just because Julia was crying, that automatically made Nia the one at fault?
Nia Mitchell’s face darkened with frustration, and she seethed with anger.
Charles Northwood couldn’t remain calm either and shot to his feet. "Will you people ever stop? You’re condemning Nia Mitchell based on one person’s words? And when did I ever like you?"
Charles Northwood found the accusation utterly baffling. He barely interacted with the students in this class; he had skipped grades and studied abroad, leaving him little time to get to know anyone. To put it frankly, even if it sounded harsh, he didn’t even recognize everyone in the class. He supposedly liked her? How could he not know it himself?
"Julia Adams, you’d better not spread any rumors about me, or you will regret it." Charles Northwood’s usual gentle demeanor vanished, replaced by an intimidating intensity that made it hard for anyone to meet his gaze.
Julia Adams was stunned. The usually gentle Charles Northwood... how could he have such a side to him? Instantly, the idealized image she held of him, all those wonderful mental pictures, began to crack, threatening to shatter completely.
"Professor Northwood?" Julia Adams called out, her voice laced with grievance as she sat there, overcome with sadness.
"I... I haven’t spread any rumors! I’ve always liked you so much; why would I ever slander you?" She was genuinely heartbroken.
After all, this was the man she loved. Yet, he was always protecting Nia Mitchell, always shielding Fiona Sutton. He wouldn’t even spare a glance for anyone else. And yet... a Charles Northwood like this was still so captivating.
"Professor Northwood, Nia Mitchell has never liked me. Please, don’t let her bewitch you, alright? I’m begging you." Julia Adams pleaded, her tone utterly humble. Her feelings for him were clearly genuine, without a trace of artifice. It showed she was truly, deeply in love with Charles Northwood.
Seeing her in such a state, it wasn’t just the other students in the classroom; even Nia Mitchell, against her better judgment, felt a reluctant pang of sympathy for Julia Adams.
"I don’t like you. If this is your confession to me today, then I am clearly rejecting you right now." Utterly devoid of emotion—that was Charles Northwood in this moment.
His rejection was absolute, leaving no room for negotiation and sparing Julia Adams no dignity whatsoever. Fiona Sutton wasn’t there. If she had seen this, she would have definitely thought that Charles Northwood had been far too lenient with her in the past.
"Julia Adams, listen carefully. I do not like you, I will not like you, and it’s impossible for me to ever like you. Nothing and no one will change that, not even in the slightest." Charles Northwood declared once more. His voice wasn’t particularly loud, yet it cut through the surrounding commotion, impossible to ignore.
