Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 550 - 549: We Have Already Broken Up
Nia Mitchell was refusing because Young Master Peary was genuinely very busy with work.
"He can’t make it. I don’t care what you’re implying or what schemes you have in mind; in short, he can’t come, and that’s the literal meaning. If you understand, then keep it to yourselves. If you don’t, don’t bother asking."
Nia was genuinely feeling a bit irritated. She really shouldn’t have come today... It was such an unlucky day.
She’d thought they would pin things on Hendry Hampton, but it turned out not to be the case.
To her dismay, they relentlessly targeted Uncle Peary, which she found detestable.
Nia Mitchell didn’t want anything more to do with them. After stating her piece, she sat down and started drinking her beverage.
As everyone watched, the atmosphere grew a bit tense. They felt both embarrassed and awkward.
"Let’s request some songs and keep the party going! Don’t just stand there dazed; every minute here costs money!"
The karaoke at the Royal Dynasty was quite expensive, even though the bill hadn’t been paid yet.
Many began to wonder if Nia Mitchell would end up footing the bill later, since she didn’t seem to be short on cash.
As a result, several classmates started ordering expensive drinks—the very pricey kind.
Unbeknownst to them, they were destined to pay for these drinks out of their own pockets. Of course, that was a matter for later that night.
Nia Mitchell sat there sulking, her expression visibly unpleasant. None of her classmates attempted to approach or console her.
Everyone else resumed having fun. Charles Northwood was finally able to break away from the group and hesitantly came over to her side.
"Don’t be upset; it’s not worth it." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
His voice was as gentle as February sunlight, warming her heart.
Nia Mitchell nodded and smiled at him.
"I’m not upset. After all, this is just how they are, and today is the last time anyway."
After Nia Mitchell finished speaking, her smile became rather forced.
The last time. Because she had decided she was no longer going to be friends with them.
With some people, if you’re not compatible, it’s best to part ways sooner rather than later to avoid trouble.
Since these classmates weren’t true friends, why should she offer up her heart only to have it trampled on?
Charles Northwood was taken aback. He hadn’t expected the usually gentle Nia Mitchell to say such things.
It wasn’t that her approach was bad, just that it wasn’t in her usual character.
It seemed Maxwell Peary had already changed Nia Mitchell in such a short time.
At the thought of Maxwell, Charles Northwood’s expression dimmed.
"By the way, why didn’t you bring your girlfriend today?"
Nia Mitchell hadn’t gotten a good look at Tara Jameson last time. She seemed nice; probably a good girl.
She had expected to see Tara again today, but Charles Northwood hadn’t brought her along.
"We broke up."
Charles Northwood spoke nonchalantly, then watched Nia Mitchell attentively, not missing a single change in her expression.
Sure enough, Nia Mitchell looked completely astonished, finding it hard to believe.
"You broke up?"
Nia Mitchell was indeed startled. Didn’t that just happen a few days ago?
How could they break up so suddenly?
Could Charles Northwood be joking with her? But he wasn’t the type to make such jokes.
"Why did you break up?"
"Because we weren’t compatible, so we broke up. Isn’t that the most common and simplest reason?"
Charles Northwood said this as he picked up his glass of wine for a small sip, then leaned back on the sofa.
Nia Mitchell observed his expression, certain that Charles Northwood wasn’t as nonchalant as he appeared.
He... must be upset.
