Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 534 - 533: I won’t invite everyone to my wedding
Nia Mitchell was taken aback; she hadn’t expected Julia Adams to still be fixated on this matter.
"Did I ever refuse to pay? Can’t I even speak up?"
She had never seen someone so impatient, to utter such pressing words.
"I’m just afraid that you might go back on your word; after all, you’re capable of anything."
When Nia Mitchell heard Julia Adams’s words, her hands tightened into fists. Why was she so upset?
This feeling of paying yet being mocked by others—it really irritated her.
Charles Northwood wanted to continue helping Nia Mitchell, but she had already rejected him earlier, so it wasn’t appropriate for him to speak on her behalf.
Nia Mitchell smirked and shook her head helplessly at Julia Adams’s behavior.
If a person is utterly shameless, there’s really nothing you can do about them.
Besides, it was rather enlightening to see the true colors of everyone in the class now.
She was a little afraid that once her identity was revealed, people would come knocking on Maxwell Peary’s door asking for help.
These weren’t matters she could decide.
If she couldn’t refuse, she would probably be the one in a bind then.
The current situation was actually quite good.
"Alright, I’ll go settle the bill now. Everyone, enjoy yourselves."
Smiling, Nia Mitchell was about to head out when Julia Adams suddenly stopped her.
"Wait, we haven’t finished ordering yet! Someone wanted red wine earlier, haven’t we ordered that? Everyone, hurry up, someone’s treating us!"
As soon as Julia Adams spoke, the classmates picked up their menus again.
Initially, they had all decided to pay together, so the food they had ordered barely covered the minimum charge for the Private Room. But now that someone was treating, it was a different story; they could order whatever they pleased.
However, a classmate piped up, "Nia Mitchell, did you bring enough money?"
It would be such a loss if they had to pay because she couldn’t afford it.
Nia Mitchell paused, then a smirk—strikingly similar to Maxwell Peary’s—touched her lips. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
"I had no idea how much this would cost. Since everyone said we’d pay together initially, how much do you think I would have brought?"
The implication was clear, though unstated. Let them guess for themselves.
Sure enough, the moment she said this, the classmates who were ordering stopped in their tracks.
Was she serious? Coming out to have fun and not bringing money? Unbelievable!
"Then use a card," a classmate suddenly suggested. "If you don’t have cash, you must have a card, right?"
"If it’s not enough, you can go back and get more. Anyway, the banquet hasn’t officially started yet. We’ll all wait for you. But if you’re too slow, we might start eating without you," Julia Adams said, her expression feigning difficulty, though her eyes were full of mockery.
Watching her, Nia Mitchell took a deep breath.
"I..."
Before she could finish, Charles Northwood interrupted her.
"It’s alright. If you don’t have enough, I’ll cover the rest."
He smiled warmly, standing there like a small sun, instantly warming people’s hearts.
Hearing his words, Nia Mitchell smiled and shook her head.
Even though Charles Northwood was a bit more well-off, this expense would be an unexpected burden for him. How could she possibly let him pay?
Fiona Sutton sat to one side, having said nothing all this time. But when she heard Charles Northwood’s words, she glanced at them.
"Today is no longer a class reunion; it’s my treat. Just consider this my wedding feast. When I actually get married, I won’t be inviting any of you."
That seemed reasonable enough, didn’t it? Nia Mitchell chuckled and glanced at everyone.
