Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 511 - 510: Alan Morgan is a Bastard
Ethan Martinez stroked Gerry Peary’s head, his expression full of doting affection. Such a young child, afflicted with such an illness; he must be heartbroken.
Looking at Shirley Grant’s appearance, he sighed.
"Sister?" Ethan Martinez called out to Shirley Grant, but she didn’t respond.
She was holding her mobile phone, her eyes blank.
Shirley Grant felt a deep sorrow in her heart. Why was this happening? Did Alan Morgan not like Gerry at all? Or was it because Gerry was her child that he disliked him? She knew all too well the hatred he harbored for her from the past. Such a heart-wrenching betrayal... he must despise her to death. That’s why, even now, even when she pleaded for help, he ignored her. Perhaps Alan Morgan hadn’t even bothered to look for her. Perhaps Alan Morgan wished she would just disappear. Whenever she thought of this, her whole body trembled, fear coursing through her. She didn’t know how to face any of it.
"Mum?" Noticing his mother wasn’t responding to his uncle, Gerry called out too.
Perhaps it was because they had spent so much time together, or maybe Gerry’s condition was particularly unique. Even though Shirley Grant was lost in a daze, she still heard Gerry’s voice.
"Gerry?" Shirley Grant suddenly stood up, as if she hadn’t noticed Ethan Martinez, her eyes fixed solely on Gerry.
"Gerry, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Shirley Grant looked terrified, tears welling in her eyes.
Gerry shook his head immediately. "No, Uncle is here."
Gerry pointed to Ethan Martinez beside him. Only then did Shirley Grant seem to react. She nodded and brushed aside a strand of hair that had fallen across her face.
"You’re here." Realizing she had been lost in her thoughts, she felt a little embarrassed.
"Please sit down. You were such a great help last night; without you, I..."
It was late and raining heavily. If Ethan Martinez had returned just a few minutes later, she dared not imagine what might have happened.
She was suddenly grateful she had come here. Yet, in this place so filled with reminders of Alan Morgan, she couldn’t find the support that should have been hers.
"You’re my sister. Why are you saying such things?"
Ethan Martinez poured her a glass of water, his expression particularly worried as he observed her dazed state.
"Don’t worry. We have the money, and I have connections. We’ll definitely get Gerry the best treatment possible."
Ethan Martinez was a big star; he was wealthy and knew many influential people.
Turning to him had been Shirley Grant’s best choice.
However, she didn’t want to owe anyone anything or rely on others like this, even if that person was her own brother.
"I just don’t know the right people, that’s all. I have money; I really do."
Shirley Grant nodded. She had bought the Royal Bay Villa. It had taken her a whole day to make that decision. That place was supposed to be her and Alan Morgan’s world, their marital home. If they had gotten married, they would have lived there, seeing each other every day. But now... not only could she not move in, but she also had to sell it. Still, she had no regrets; all of this was for Gerry.
"Where did you get the money?"
Ethan Martinez frowned at her. He knew a little about his sister’s financial situation; she couldn’t possibly afford Gerry’s expensive surgery.
"It’s...it’s his."
After some hesitation, she chose the easiest explanation.
After all, the villa had belonged to Alan Morgan.
"If he gave you the money, why didn’t he show up?" Ethan Martinez’s voice suddenly rose, laced with unconcealed fury.
