Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 480 - 479: Vigorous Men Always Take Charge
Upon hearing Yancy Hastings’ question, Fiona Sutton was taken aback. She didn’t expect him to ask such a question. After all, he was a man, and such matters weren’t to his disadvantage.
Recalling last night, Fiona’s thoughts couldn’t help drifting.
「Last night.」
After parting with Charles Northwood, Fiona still couldn’t accept that Nia Mitchell was already married. Whenever she felt confused, she would want a drink. But unexpectedly, even drinking couldn’t alleviate her frustration this time. She spent less than twenty minutes in the bar before she came out again.
Outside, it was raining cats and dogs. Fiona, realizing she had no umbrella, ran out to hail a taxi. But— "Damn it!" she cursed aloud. Just my luck, she fumed internally. It’s always impossible to get a taxi in this weather! I finally spot one, and of course, it’s already taken. Unbelievable!
"I hailed this taxi first!"
She finally managed to flag down a taxi, only to be intercepted by Cecilia Johnson!
Fiona used her bag to shield her head from the rain, while the woman trying to snatch her taxi casually held an umbrella. With that flashy dress and caked-on makeup, she’s probably a prostitute, Fiona thought disdainfully.
"I hailed it first!" the woman shrieked, her voice as loud as her garishly painted red lips. She then tried to push Fiona away.
"Damn it!" Would I let myself be pushed aside? Impossible.
So she raised her arm to block the push and kicked out. The woman immediately fell on her backside into a puddle. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Let this be a lesson to you! Dare to snatch a taxi from me? You’ve got some serious nerve! Fuck off!" Fiona roared savagely, then moved to get into the taxi.
Just then, several burly security guards came over. Seeing the woman on the ground, they immediately rushed over to help her up.
"Miss Chen, are you alright?"
Miss Chen’s backside was wet and cold from the fall, and her umbrella lay discarded nearby. Soaked to the bone, she was a complete, disgraceful mess.
"Do I look alright to you? Get her! She dared to push me!"
The security guards exchanged glances, weighed their options, and then advanced towards Fiona.
"Let me tell you, I know big shots! If you lay a finger on me, you’re finished!"
Despite her bravado, Fiona kept retreating. Damn it, just my luck! she seethed. All I did was kick one prostitute, and now I’ve attracted this whole mob. Sure, I’m usually bold and can throw my weight around, but these are several burly guys I’m up against. If we really fight, I might not lose, but I’ll definitely get hurt.
As these thoughts raced through her mind, Fiona, who had retreated to the edge of the road, saw a military vehicle approaching from a distance.
Yancy Hastings!
That’s right! I recognize that license plate. It belongs to that classless oaf!
Damn it! So what if it’s a little humiliating? A true hero knows when to yield and when to stand firm!
And so, Fiona bolted into the fast lane, flinging out her arm to flag down the vehicle!
Yancy Hastings was driving smoothly; the army had an urgent matter to attend to. Tonight’s heavy rain was perfect weather for their special forces training.
He hadn’t expected to see some unidentified figure suddenly dart into his lane, trying to stop his vehicle. Given the heavy rain, Fiona was an especially disheveled sight, and he didn’t recognize her at first.
Yancy Hastings had intended to swerve and go around her, but then he saw several men with sticks chasing after her.
Even an ordinary man with a sense of justice would want to intervene in such a situation.
And he, a special forces soldier? In Capital Town, of all places, this was happening right under his nose! How could I possibly not get involved?
