Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict-Chapter 638 - : 637 must be treated abroad
Chapter 638: 637 must be treated abroad
A glimmer of emotion flashed in Shen Yuting’s eyes, a struggle and sadness.
Licking her lips, she clutched Wen Ran’s hand, speaking earnestly, “Ranran, listen to me, don’t live separately from Mo Xiuchen.”
A dash of confusion sprang up in Wen Ran’s brows, her clear, luminous eyes stared at Shen Yuting, she replied off-topic, ” Sister Ting, you seem to be preoccupied. Is it about Mo Xiuchen?”
“No, I just got emotional.”
Shen Yuting denied without hesitation.
Wen Ran simply smiled and did not plan to probe further.
Shen Yuting dared not encourage her to follow Mo Xiuchen to City C anymore. They chatted about other topics, and when they started talking about Jiang Liu, Wen Ran chuckled, “Sister Ting, when are you planning to introduce us to Jiang Liu?”
Shen Yuting laughed and promised, “Sure, but he has been working overtime every day lately, so how about we wait till he is free!”
“No problem.”
Wen Ran readily agreed.

“Mo Xiuchen, you must go to D Country for treatment.”
In the office, Gu Kai looked at the inspection report with a stern expression and tone, a seriousness he had never shown before.
Mo Xiuchen had a handsome face with a calm expression. At first glance, there was no change in his emotions. Only his eyes grew deeper, their color like ink.
Hearing Gu Kai’s words, he did not respond immediately, but looked towards the door, his ears perked to the sounds outside. Seeing Gu Kai about to speak, his voice rang out calmly and softly, “Ah Kai, keep your voice down; I don’t want Ranran to know.”
Gu Kai choked at his words, swallowing the words that had reached his lips.
His mouth slightly agape, he stared at him, his eyes filled with a mix of annoyance and resentment.
Ignoring his emotional fluctuations, Mo Xiuchen leaned back on the sofa, his long legs casually propped up, and spoke leisurely.
“I can’t right now. I need at least half a month more. After that, I will go to D Country.”
“Mo Xiuchen, are you joking around with your own life?”
Gu Kai abruptly raised his voice, glaring fiercely at Mo Xiuchen. This man really knew how to drive people insane.
Mo Xiuchen curled up the corners of his mouth, unconcerned about Gu Kai’s anger. He made a calming gesture at Gu Kai, “Ah Kai, I’m not joking with my life. If I remember correctly, I once promised you to wait until the day when my father develops a medicine.”
“Then why don’t you go to D Country immediately?”
Gu Kai confronted him coldly, his face remained stern.
The same virus behaved differently inside him and Wen Ran.
“There are still important things I haven’t finished. I won’t stop taking my medication during this time, and moreover, going to D Country now won’t make any difference.”
Gu Kai didn’t know what to say to him. What could be more important than his own life. He clenched his lips tightly and said, “If your reluctance to leave immediately is because you’re worried about Ranran, I can promise you that I’ll protect Ranran and won’t let her get hurt while you are abroad.”
“Of course, if you’re willing to tell Ranran the truth now and let her accompany you to D Country, that would be even better.”
“Do not tell Ranran.”
Mo Xiuchen’s tone abruptly sank, despite little change on his face, the determination between his brows was evident.
“Mo Xiuchen, I really don’t agree with you keeping the truth from Ranran. When she wanted to leave you before, didn’t you refuse? So why don’t you want to tell her now? Are you afraid she’ll feel guilty?”
If she knew, Wen Ran would temporarily feel sad; but finding out later would also be devastating for her.
This turmoil not only touched Ranran deeply, but also everyone around them. The only person who might not feel bad, might be that pervert, Fu Jingyi.
Considering this, Gu Kai’s expression sharpened abruptly, “Mo Xiuchen, did Fu Jingyi call you and tell you how to save Ranran?”
Mo Xiuchen nodded calmly, now there was no need to conceal anything: “Before he called you, he had already called me. He told me that only one of Ranran and I could survive. At first, I hesitated.”
Gu Kai’s face changed several times, Fu Jingyi, that pervert, was indeed tormenting them by hiding behind the scenes.
Mo Xiuchen sighed softly and whispered, “I did not hesitate because I was afraid of death, but because I feared for Ranran’s loneliness after my death. But he told me that as long as the virus was eradicated from Ranran, she could become a mother in the future. Although I had my doubts, I had no choice but to try.”
“Where would she become a mother if you’re dead?”
Gu Kai growled under his breath.
“Ah Kai, don’t let Ranran know about my situation. I don’t want her to feel sorry for me. I can keep my secret from her till the end. If I am lucky, I will naturally have a brood of lovely children with her. If I die, let her start a new life.”
“Mo Xiuchen, it’s not fair to Ranran.”
A dull pain struck Gu Kai’s chest, as if something was blocking it, making it hard to breathe.
Mo Xiuchen gave a bitter smile and said faintly, “Yes, when Ranran was in that situation, I did everything I could to force her back to my side. Now it’s my turn, but I don’t want her to know. I’m not great, in fact, I’m selfish. I cannot bear the pain of losing Ranran worse than death, yet I believe you can let Ranran start a new life.”
If love sinks into marrow, how could one forget by merely erasing memory.
His figure had appeared in her dreams since she was a child, even when her memory was locked away. Let alone now, when she loves him as her life, how could she forget easily.
He knew very well that she might endure the kind of pain that he himself couldn’t bear, but he still did it. Concealing the truth now would only cause deeper pain when she found out the truth.
Gu Kai’s face paled slightly, each word squeezed out from between his teeth:
“Alright, I promise you. If you die, I will make Ranran forget about you, marry another man, have children and grow old together.”
Upon hearing these words, Mo Xiuchen’s calm facade cracked inch by inch. His eyes, black as ink, were filled with an indescribable pain.
The sound of footsteps and low voices came from the hallway outside the office door.
“Ranran and Yuting are here.”
Gu Kai suppressed his emotions and stood up to open the door.
“I guessed it was you two from the sound of the footsteps.” Gu Kai opened the door and Shen Yuting and Wen Ran happened to be at the entrance.
His brows lifted in a smile and his voice rang out cheerfully.
Wen Ran gave him a smile, her eyes moved past his shoulder to Mo Xiuchen sitting on the sofa. His gaze seemed to have been waiting there, and the moment their eyes met, an inexplicable sweetness welled up in her heart.
