FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 247: The Awards
"Stomach cramp!" Kelvin chuckled at her reply, seeing that she was lying. "Are you sure it has nothing to do with it..." He leaned closer and whispered. "... your ex."
"What!" Don't be ridiculous!" Tina sneered gritting her teeth, while stealing furtive glances at the couple in front. "I told you before, I am way over him. He's already married and I don't date married men. Please let's drop this topic and focus on the show. You're ruining my moment."
Kelvin sighed and shrugged. "Okay, if you say so. But make sure you don't create any more dramatic scenes. I won't hang around for such."
"Whatever!"
Tina rolled her eyes, shifting her attention to the stage where a musical artist was already performing.
She could barely focus or vibe to the pop music which had most guest shaking and nodding their head. She wasn't even interested in anything Joanna or her other friends had to say.
Her mind was a wreck filled with poison and Malice. Her heart felt like a desert wasteland tormented by Amelia's scorching laughter and smiles.
If only looks could kill, Amelia would be dead by now.
Turning to her phone for comfort, Tina opened her Instagram account, hoping to see her pictures and interview still trending.
But to her greatest dismay, instead of her pictures and videos, Amelia's repulsive face was everywhere.
Like a wildfire spreading through a forest, pictures of Amelia's intimate posture with her husband and his best friend dominated the internet space.
No one seemed to remember that some few hours ago, the same Amelia was tagged the insecure and disgruntled housewife who assaulted a top actress.
Rather they saw her as a beauty goddess capable of swaying the coldest of hearts.
Within the twinkle of an eye, she became the number one trending topic after appearing in a matching outfit with her husband and the movie legend Superstar who introduced her as his best friend and on a lighter note his first crush.
This post was followed by millions of likes and comments, all idolizing Amelia as a keeper.
When Tina searched for her previously trending interview, it was nowhere to be found. Someone had taken it down on all platforms, alongside other videos that painted Amelia in a bad light.
Tina didn't have to ask who, knowing how powerful and persuasive Blaze could be. She gritted her teeth, the fleeting thought of smashing her phone on the floor crossing her mind. But seeing that she was in public, she calmly inhaled and put her phone aside, focusing her full attention on the victory ahead.
Following different musical artists' performances and comedy skits, it was finally time for the first award presentation.
The names of the nominees for this category were displayed on the huge backdrop projected screen, with dramatic music playing in the background that kept the audience in suspense.
"For the best animated short film, we would like to call on Mr Williams to come up on stage and present the award..." The event host announced.
The atmosphere in the hall was shrouded with anticipation and euphoria as the invited dignitary climbed up the stage and received the envelope from the auditing firm.
He slowly opened the envelope while making funny comments to ease the tension in the room. As he brought out the slip containing the name of the winner, a smile spread across his face
"And the winner is..." The light in the hall was dimmed.
All the nominees for that particular category had their fingers crossed, with eyes raised and staring at the massive backdrop, for the winning film to be projected.
"Pinito, the waltzing cow!" Mr Williams announced in a thrilled voice. "Congratulation"
A shrill of euphoria rose in the air as the winning producer of the animated movie, hurried out of his seat towards the stage while the crowd cheered him on. He was closely accompanied by his wife,
the cast and crew of that movie, to receive the award.
Tina instantly forgot about Blaze and Amelia as her heart started racing with every award category called out one by one.
However, when Blaze and Amelia were called out to present the award for the best costume design, Tina felt as though her heart was about to stop.
She listened in agony as Blaze praised his wife before the entire audience, earning her more popularity than the awardee.
Afterwards,
Henry was called next on stage to present the award to the overall best male actor in a movie series.
When Henry climbed on stage, the crowd went while with excitement thanks to his comical nature. He didn't fail to crack the audience up when the event host made a funny remark of his bruised face.
"As an actor, the key to success is learning to improvise when the director tells you to make it look real. Take, for example, getting punched in the face for crushing on your best friend's wife. What do you think would happen next?" Henry's gaze flickered through the crowd as if he was waiting for a response.
But before the event host could come up with a reply, Henry said.
"You get heavily paid and receive a peck on the cheek from your best friend's wife. Your fairy tale comes to pass and everyone wins."

Another ripple of laughter erupted in the hall before Henry finally announced the winner of that category.
"And finally for the category we have all been waiting for...." The event host drawled, his gaze sweeping through the crowd until it singled out Tina and Martina. "For the overall best female actor in a movie series. The nominees are; Martina Lorenzi in the Sci-Fi movie, Apocalyptic Reign; Worlds Apart and Tina Stevens in the Blockbuster action movie thriller, Irrevocable."
The loud cheering in the hall was amplified as different factions of both nominees chanted their favourite actor's name.
"To present this award, we call on our VIP guest all the way from Frost Fall, Mrs Celestine Bell."
"Ah!" Celestine, who was busy chatting away with her husband, minding her own business, gasped in shock when she heard her name. She never dreamt that she would one day be honored with such a rare privilege.
"Mrs Celestine Bell, please come up to the stage to present the award." The event host repeated as Celestine's gaze darted from her husband to the stage, her eyes beaming with excitement.
"Go ahead, honey. I'm so proud of you." Ferdinand applauded his wife even though his heart was skipping at the thought of his wife and side chick on the same stage.
