Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild-Chapter 454 - 243: Healing the Wounds of the Star Soul (Part 3)
"I heard crying."
Crying?
Li Ang didn’t seem to notice such a clear emotional change in Ivynis.
"In the endless darkness, wailing in pain, whether it was the Star Soul or Ivynis..."
Zoe bowed her head, her voice growing weaker.
Li Ang was silent for a moment.
Ivynis knew things that they had yet to learn, and it was not just on a superficial level; it was as if she had seen fate itself.
Is this the power of the Star Soul Greenhouse? Or does it come from elsewhere? Or is it just Li Ang’s paranoia? He couldn’t say.
This time, the girl indeed showed some vulnerability, not as confident as before, perhaps due to the appearance of the Annihilator.
However, she still seemed more composed and mature than Zoe, and whether the so-called rescue was truly what Zoe thought remained uncertain.
"She said she would come to see us again," Li Ang said, "so we can talk more with her then. Once we have a ship ready to move, we can involve ourselves in the Empire’s affairs."
Zoe nodded, seeming thoughtful, but said no more.
"It seems the matter here is settled." Otto observed the now calm scene, approaching Li Ang.
"I’ve heard about the Ignis Sky Realm, your good relations with the Flame Leader must be related."
"It’s a long story."
Li Ang sighed but briefly explained the Empire’s sudden rise, the blockade of airways, and how he had thwarted their initial plot.
Otto, being a fellow councilor, was well aware of Elaphia’s responsibility, so Li Ang only briefly mentioned that Zoe’s parents might have a grudge against the Empire, omitting details about the Star Soul.
With Otto’s age, despite once being a battle-craving warrior, he had gained an understanding of human affairs over time. He didn’t probe further after hearing Li Ang’s explanation.
The Elder Sword Hero was quite chivalrous, saying, "The Empire acts recklessly, directly destroying waterscapes and harming the Flower God. If you need help against them in the future, you can find me."
With the crisis resolved, Otto wished to return to the village to take the three captives to the Hall of Order, but the young girls informed him that the Annihilator’s spatial technique had also transported them away.
This left the Elder Sword Hero looking somewhat angry, and Li Ang thought about how long the Empire’s soldiers could last against him in the future.
Li Ang wasn’t in a hurry.
Based on the panel data, those people were all peripheral personnel, even appearing as if they had only just received training. He could confirm it was Elaphia applying pressure in the Ignis Sky Realm, forcing the Empire to recruit people on short notice.
Even if they were captured, they wouldn’t reveal much.
Zoe tugged on Li Ang’s sleeve, "Li Ang, did you see what happened to Little Diana just now?"
Why are you calling her Little Diana? Li Ang thought to himself, amused at Zoe’s sincerity. She immediately switched from addressing her as "big sister" to the child-like "Little Diana" upon discovering the Star Soul’s childish intellect.
After Ivynis left, the young girl’s attention shifted to the flower tree in the Underground Cave. She quickly sensed it was the Star Soul’s main body and saw the large scars left on it.
Since she hadn’t seen the Moon Concealing Rabbit operating the Ancient Mechanic Soldier, she was confused, especially seeing a Mechanical Armor kneeling before the flower tree.
Li Ang was contemplating how to explain the strange rabbit’s actions when the Moon Concealing Rabbit sitting on the Mechanical Armor’s head caught the attention of the girls.
The first to see the pink rabbit was Andasu. After entering the cave, her gaze often glanced toward the Mechanical Armor, and after Ivynis left, she moved closer to it, observing intently.
Once she entered a focused state, she would wag her fluffy big tail, so Li Ang immediately noticed her state.
However, she didn’t directly touch it due to not knowing the details of the Ancient Mechanic Soldier, and she wasn’t concerned about why there was a little animal on it.
"Huh, what’s Meimei’s bunny doing here?" Dorothy was the first to ask.
The half-elf curiously approached the pink rabbit, and before Li Ang could speak, Zoe followed her due to her words.
Compared to Andasu, the other three girls were more interested in the pink rabbit.
They moved closer to the mysterious rabbit, and at that moment, it sat solemnly atop the Mechanical Armor’s head, its eyes slightly closed, as if asleep.
The Mechanical Armor was kneeling on the ground, and given its immense size and the edges of its armor, climbing onto its shoulder was as easy as ascending stairs.
When the three faces approached simultaneously, the rabbit opened its eyes, glanced at them, and then raised its paw to tap each of their faces.
"Ah!"
The girls who were hit stepped back, and Zoe immediately got angry, wanting to rush up and grab the rabbit.
"Darn it! You rabbit!"
However, the Moon Concealing Rabbit was unexpectedly agile and hit her several times in succession.
The young girl exchanged a few moves with the rabbit and decided to climb up to the Mechanical Armor’s head to catch it.
Just then, the Mechanical Armor raised its hand and threw her away.
This time, it was indeed a forceful throw, but for Zoe, it felt like a grievous insult, with the main impact on her pride.
She howled, wanting to charge again, but Li Ang held her back.
"Alright, stop for a moment."
He could now confirm that the strange rabbit was not so simple.
Li Ang glanced at Otto, and the Elder Sword Hero also witnessed the playfulness between the girls and the Moon Concealing Rabbit. Knowing Li Ang wanted to ask if he was aware of this, Otto shook his head in response.
