Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild-Chapter 356 - 205: Mutual Dependence
Dorothy’s implication is that the final hidden location of Karios Keckrus, the prodigy referred to by the engineer Cormac, who pioneered the engineer industry and the Mechanical Engineer profession as an Alchemist, is Olin Island.
The Makena Island Country side has always known about its founder’s relationship with the Holy Sporrel Empire, perhaps out of respect for the founder’s wishes eight hundred years ago. Even though the empire declined today, they have never mentioned their connection to the empire to the outside world.
Or rather, if the empire hadn’t suddenly made a move a month ago, how many people in Nebis now would even know about the Holy Sporrel Empire? More people are familiar with the Makena Island Country in any case.
However, although the Makena leadership knows that after Karios left, his descendants were unable to innovate, they do not know where this genius ultimately went.
Yet Dorothy grasped a certain piece of information from imperial rumors found in her noble social network and documents in Spark Port, and speculated on what she believed to be the historical truth.
She spoke as if very certain, "Olin Kingdom, I think it’s in Olin Kingdom. We can truly venture there. A figure of such a nation-building caliber, still an Alchemy Master and the progenitor of Mechanical Engineers, must have left many good things."
"Why are you so sure?"
Li Ang pondered, "Even if some unknown ancient tower invaded and stole by the Yijie Association belongs to Karios, but if it could be entered by people of that level from the Yijie Association, the tower’s defense ability should be quite low. Could it truly be a place he went in his later years?"
"The brothers went their separate ways before conquering the Olin Kingdom," Dorothy said, "at least that’s what I’ve heard."
"So you think, he separated from his brother in his youth, established the Magical Technology Country, and returned to Olin Island within the empire after leaving this place?"
"Exactly."
"One could also speculate that they settled on Olin Island before preparing for conquest? That tower was built during that time, and since he was young then, the tower’s defenses were weak."
"It’s been eight hundred years, perhaps the tower’s defenses failed? The brothers might have reconciled in their later years..."
Although Dorothy had her own views, the more she spoke, the less confident she became.
Li Ang said, "I’m just discussing other possibilities."
"Since we’ve received this unexpected news, we should find a chance to visit Olin Island. Thus, there’s no need to come up with an explanation to convince everybody, as it’s all just blind guesses due to a lack of information."
Since the Yijie Association visited that ancient tower, any valuable content within would surely be gone, but if they knew it belonged to the founder of Makena, then any information inside would be valuable, potentially yielding important information the Yijie Association members paid no attention to.
"Mainly it’s still about getting your little wolf a profession upgrade for Mechanical Engineer, right?" Dorothy pouted.
"If there’s anything useful for Andasu, that would certainly be good."
He turned back to glance at the beast-eared maiden flipping through Cormac’s manuscript and said, "For now, there’s enough in Cormac’s manuscript to keep her occupied for a while, but I’m more concerned about our Flying Airship’s power source."
"Isn’t the giant’s heart in the basement sufficient?"
"It might be enough, but how to use it, how to maintain it, and whether better results can be achieved are all within the scope of consideration. If it’s not handled well, it might even get destroyed. It’s best to learn some relevant knowledge ourselves."
With another destination added to the itinerary, Li Ang inquired about Dorothy’s understanding of Olin Island.
"Hmm... I’m not really sure about its current state now."
The half-elf said, the splendor of the Giant Garden has affected many surrounding islands, and Olin Island was a place that declined even earlier; she believes exploring there won’t be obstructed.
"Lords usually take good care of their places of origin, protect them as holy grounds, or use them as a second capital, sometimes even building a capital on them."
Regarding these matters, Dorothy was quite knowledgeable.
"But even the Chalk Fortress, seen as the absolute core, appears sparsely populated and dilapidated, and even this birthplace might be neglected.
"As for that underground organization, I guess it’s the empire’s machinations that induced their association, wanting to see if there’s anything to gain in the empire’s cradle, which led them to find that ancient tower."
Chatting about the history of the empire’s first emperor with Dorothy, and explaining in simple terms to Zoe and Aluru, Li Ang and his group were halfway back on their return journey.
He let the young girls return on their own, while he went to meet up with Elaphia nearby, preparing to head to the Dome Furnace Association’s venue.
"Going to whisper sweet nothings with the young lady again?" Dorothy said sourly. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Your task is to return and let the Demon-Born Flower absorb the Divine Energy, to see if a new variant emerges."
"Got it, got it."
When Li Ang found Elaphia, she intended to suggest having lunch together, but she was surprised when Li Ang asked her to help move the items they’d just obtained using the Dimensional Rift Space.
"You managed to do so much in just one morning?"
The blondie Douding hesitated to speak.
Li Ang sensed she was on the verge of calling him "riff-raff," but ultimately held back.
She hovered on her Flying Sword, whispering in Li Ang’s ear, "Even though you possess unique abilities, you’re still at Level 9. You should figure out how to tear open and construct a Domain through dimensions sooner rather than later. Otherwise, there are times when you’re not much different from the riff-raff."
