Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild-Chapter 344 - 200: Spider Breeder
"What’s the matter?" Li Ang smiled at Xiaoniu.
Alulu said, "Brother, can you deal less with these people in the future?"
What she said was within Li Ang’s expectation.
The young girl carefully said, "I know my brother is not a bad person; he only came to this kind of shop because of a friend’s introduction. But my teacher taught me a lesson, which is that people who conspire with evil ones are easily turned against and harmed."
She was quite dissatisfied with the Yijie Association: "Those people aren’t good; if they get the chance, they might turn around and harm you, brother."
The scenario she described is entirely possible. Just the fact that it sells information means that if Li Ang reveals too much about himself, wouldn’t he become information that Yijie Association sells? Given their style, it’s very likely.
He had some understanding of the negative aspects of groups, whether on Earth or Nebis.
Organizations like the Yijie Association, after recruiting people, prevent betrayal by ensuring everyone is on the same sinking ship, all doomed if it fails together. If one gets too deeply involved with them, it’s easy to get tied up in a situation where they use each other and simultaneously guard against betrayal. Over time, one’s spirit becomes twisted.
"Thank you for your advice."
Alulu didn’t let her opinion of the Yijie Association affect her mood; she just adhered to what she knew was right.
Feeling her genuine concern for him, Li Ang gently said, "Right now, we are limited in resources. To quickly enhance our strength, we’re just making temporary deals. We won’t get too entangled with them in the future."
He pointed towards the direction of the Central District in the city and smiled: "If anything happens, I can always ask the Order Knights for help."
Alulu lowered her head slightly: "I’m still too weak. If I were strong enough, we wouldn’t need to rely on such organizations."
Li Ang patted her shoulder, and the two caught up with the group ahead.
According to the system map, they arrived at a high-risk location, a seemingly ordinary little house.
Approaching the island’s edge, the buildings here became increasingly dilapidated.
Unlike Nebis’s Sky Island, which essentially differs from sea islands, the edges here aren’t beautiful seas but desolate and frightening Bloody Red Land. Hence, the island’s central area is more popular, allowing one to see the distant vast blue sky.
The atmosphere on the road became odd as they walked.
The meticulous planning of the Holy City vanished; the rich greenery and layered street constructions of the Huadu District didn’t exist here. It felt like the street of a backward island, filled with a sense of decay.
Only a few houses at the entrance seemed occupied, but there wasn’t much sign of life, leaving a lifeless atmosphere.
Many fallen bricks weren’t fixed but merely patched with replacements. As a starting point, the house began to deteriorate further.
The targeted house had clearly been standing for years and might be one of the first batch of buildings in the Huadu District, initially built in a secluded suburb considering the area’s development at the time.
However, it lacked maintenance and was now on the verge of collapse after many years.
But for a Sky Knight, even if the house collapsed while being inside, it wouldn’t be a problem.
Why is an unmanned little house a high-risk area?
Li Ang led the young girls to the door.
The house’s nameplate was gone, but upon closer inspection, they found words etched in the original place: Murderer.
The young girls exchanged glances, Murderer? By their adventurous standards, there were plenty with such titles.
This was far from the treasure excuse Li Ang had given them.
Dorothy complained: "Is this really the place from the treasure map?"
"How could a treasure honestly pinpoint a vault as clearly as a bank?"
Honestly, Li Ang hadn’t expected the system map to show additional special locations beyond hidden ones, but passing by without checking would be uncomfortable.
Dorothy looked at the original nameplate’s position: "Because the owner committed murder, people didn’t want to stay here, so they all moved out, causing the street to decay?"
"It’s possible. Let’s observe the surroundings first and not rush in recklessly."
Before Li Ang could finish his sentence, Zoe had already pushed the door open.
A loud crash forced everyone to step back a few paces in shock.
"I only wanted to peek through the crack."
Zoe stuck out her tongue.
Li Ang sighed and looked around; the residents around this small house had moved away, so the commotion didn’t attract attention.
Alulu took a couple of steps forward to fulfill her duty as the vanguard.
"There must be something here as it’s labeled a murderer’s residence."
"Wait." Andasu perked up her beast ears, pointy and standing tall, looking quite alert.
"There’s a sound."
The white fluffy ears twitched slightly, and once everyone had backed away, they heard rustling sounds.
"Wha-what is it, could it be that?"
Dorothy’s face changed dramatically; she wasn’t so much fearing the enemy ahead as she was thinking of something she particularly abhorred.
As if responding to her thoughts, a dark brown wave surged toward them from the ground.
The dense, spindly legs of arthropods appeared, bristling with a fuzzy texture, like a broad carpet flowing along. But seeing the floor’s true face made one’s entire body shiver in response.
