Chapter 372: Chapter 247: Gifts from the Beastmen and How Mi Yin and the Others Got Their Names

"Just put them in the kitchen for now. They look fresh enough, so I guess we’ll just eat them like regular fruit," she said with a resigned laugh.

"Alright! Whatever Ah Jin says!" Xi beamed as he hugged the two large melons. He then dashed into the kitchen, bustled about for a moment, and ran back out.

"There’s one last thing. It’s an ointment... I think it’s for easing the loose skin after pregnancy..."

An Jin rubbed her stomach, her eyes lighting up. "Let me see." This was exactly what she needed right now.

Her pregnancy with the wolf cubs had only been two months long, so the stretching had been within her skin’s limits. She hadn’t even developed any dreaded stretch marks after giving birth. But as An Jin touched her soft belly, she still felt dejected. Her skin just wasn’t as firm and elastic as it used to be.

An Jin had always been a perfectionist, and that extended to herself. She couldn’t stand the thought of her body being in a state of decline.

Mi Yin wrapped his arms around her, leaning down slightly to rest his chin in the crook of her neck. "It’s very soft. Feels nice to the touch." His fingers found a soft spot on her waist.

An Jin lightly slapped his restless hand and sighed, her dejection plain to see. "Don’t try to comfort me. I can feel how soft my skin has gotten, and my waist isn’t as slender as it used to be."

"I think you’re perfect now. You were too skinny before," Mi Yin said with conviction.

Ling Hong and Xi nodded in earnest agreement.

But An Jin wasn’t buying any of it. After all, in the Beast World, where there was little competition for mates, the males’ tolerance for females was absurdly high. Even if she ballooned to 250 pounds, they would just console her with things like, ’You’re even cuter when you’re chubby.’

Thanks to the meticulous care from Mi Yin and the other two, An Jin’s body recovered fairly well after giving birth. Half a month later, she was already able to resume her normal, pre-pregnancy life.

The one problem she couldn’t solve was how painful the milk engorgement was. Some well-meaning Beastman had even brought her two papayas to help with her supply, but given her current production, she absolutely didn’t need them.

She often had milk left over even after the cubs had their fill.

One day, after her usual feeding session, Ling Hong went to put the sleepy cubs to bed. An Jin hadn’t even finished getting dressed when Mi Yin slithered in.

He wrapped his arms around her from behind, his heart aching as he looked at the teeth marks on her body and the irritated red patches. He frowned. "Let them eat meat from now on."

"It’s only been half a month. They can’t, can they?"

"If they were snake cubs, they wouldn’t even need a single day," Mi Yin retorted, a hint of grievance in his voice.

He reached out, his cool fingertips gently tracing the swollen, red skin to ease the pain. His voice was laced with concern. "Those three cubs are starting to teethe. They don’t know how to be gentle when they feed. If this keeps up, you’re going to get hurt."

"..." An Jin grew quiet. He had a point. After a moment, she nodded. "Let’s wait a little longer and see. My milk is still coming in strong, so it’s painful for me if I don’t let them drink. We can wean them in a few more days."

Only then did Mi Yin’s gloomy expression lighten. "Is it really that uncomfortable?" he asked, lowering his head to nuzzle her cheek. The arm around her waist shifted upward, brushing against her warm softness.

"Stop it," An Jin chided, slapping his hand away as a faint blush crept onto her cheeks.

"I have another way to make you feel better."

...

At first, the three little ones were all squeezed into the same den, constantly lashing out with their claws to fight for territory.

So, Ling Hong made each of the little cubs their own den—three in total, so they could each have their own space.

But the three of them still wouldn’t settle down. Late every night, they would secretly crawl into An Jin’s bed, craving their mother’s warmth and scent. They couldn’t sleep soundly otherwise.

To Mi Yin, these little eyesores were just getting in the way of his intimate time with his mate. His solution was to mercilessly toss all three of them out, throw them into the next room, and lock the door.

At first, Ling Hong and Xi had a bit more tolerance for the trio. But as time went on, the constant disturbances wore them down. Eventually, having had one too many pleasant evenings ruined, the two of them adopted the same measures as Mi Yin.

...

「One month later.」

The little cubs had grown quite a bit. They were now chubby little things covered in fluffy white fur, always bouncing with energy. They loved going outside to roughhouse and play with the other cubs in the tribe.

"AWOOO—"

Dinner’s ready! Time to come home and eat!

Hearing the howl from home, the three little cubs yipped excitedly and scampered back on their short little legs.

Ling Hong stuck to his usual routine: waking up early to lead the hunt, returning home to manage the household chores, and preparing three meals a day. And now, he had one more duty—raising the cubs.
