Favorite of the Beast-world: I Got Rich Through Farming-Chapter 356 - 237: Furious and The Rainy Season Is Mine
In the dead of the silent night, Ling Hong could no longer suppress the longing in his heart. His eyes radiated a dazed, scorching heat.
He was like a wildfire igniting spontaneously in a forest, setting vast swaths of soft, dry grass ablaze like a carpet; he was like a plundering, roaring gale, sweeping mercilessly across a lush plain rich with rivers.
The man’s tall, powerful figure, his firm abs and pecs—every single muscle line was charged with raw, carnal desire. Beneath his scorching skin flowed a strength as potent as volcanic magma, making it impossible for one to resist the urge to sink into depravity alongside him.
The female beneath him had her long, dark hair splayed across the grass. A thin sheen of sweat, cooled by the air, trickled down the lines of her muscles and into the blades of grass, dampening the deeper layer of turf and soil.
The commotion didn’t cease until just before dawn. By the faint moonlight, his gaze fell upon the flushed-faced female in his arms. His eyes filled with affection as he planted a deep kiss on her.
"Jin’er, I love you..."
’She was actually willing to go this far for me. The weather is so cold, nearly freezing; it’s practically torture. And she did it all just to try and soothe me.’
He didn’t know how to express the turbulent excitement in his heart with the clumsy, inadequate words in his mind. All he could do was murmur over and over again, ’I love you, I love you so much...’
The next morning, the two of them had just returned when they ran right into a grim-faced Mi Yin.
"HISS~" Catching the scent that still lingered on the two of them, he knew what had happened last night.
He let out a cold laugh, turned, and left without a word, slamming the door shut with a BANG.
His fingers gripped the doorknob tightly. Mi Yin’s handsome face was utterly grim, and his breathing grew ragged with anger.
As a fellow male, he knew all too well what that wolf’s first priority would be upon returning. That was why he had kept watch all night. Unexpectedly, nothing happened for a long time, and he’d accidentally fallen asleep.
But when he woke up, he discovered that An Jin and that wolf were gone. In disbelief, he had turned the entire castle inside out two or three times, but there was no sign of them. He was about to explode with rage.
Xi saw the situation was bad and slipped away in a flash.
With no one to vent his anger on, Mi Yin became even more furious.
...
An Jin rubbed her temples, extremely vexed. She had chosen to come home right at daybreak precisely because she was counting on Mi Yin’s habit of sleeping in.
She never expected that he’d be too angry to sleep all night and would be waiting at the door for her early in the morning, ready to demand an explanation.
"I’ll go coax him," An Jin said, turning to Ling Hong. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Mm..." He nodded silently and voluntarily let go of her hand.
As a result, that very evening, Mi Yin demanded he receive the same treatment. Whatever that wolf got, he wanted it too.
"I want to go mate with you outside, too." ’Imagining that scene... it must be incredible.’
The reproductive instinct latent in a Snake Beast favored mating in the wild. It allowed them to fully unleash their beast form and entwine with their partner in all sorts of ways.
’Mmm, and it would be even better if there was a clear little river next to the grassy field.’
Before, Mi Yin had always worried she would get cold or freeze in the wild. His concern for her forced him to restrain his desires. But since she didn’t seem to mind, he, with his head clouded by anger, minded even less.
Recalling yesterday’s scene, although it had been thrilling, An Jin did not want a repeat experience.
And why not? She had caught a cold from the freezing temperature and had been sick all day. She was already starting to regret it.
Glimpsing her slightly pale face and the thin sheen of cold sweat on her forehead, Mi Yin couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache again. But that feeling was quickly suppressed by anger and jealousy.
"ACHOO~" She sneezed, sniffling pitifully. Her pale face began to flush, and the tip of her nose turned red.
She lifted her small face and just stared at him.
"..." Mi Yin looked at her in silence for a long moment. In the end, he couldn’t bring himself to torment her further. Suppressing his anger, he said, "The rainy season is mine. Mine alone."
He used the cool pads of his fingers to wipe away the few tears that had escaped because of her discomfort from the cold.
"My mating season has started." He lowered his head and gave her a few kisses, his voice tinged with restraint. "I want you, Jin’er..."
"Since when?" An Jin’s eyes widened as she looked at him in surprise.
After all these years, she knew how difficult their mating seasons were. As a reproductive period etched into their species’ genes, it wasn’t just the physical discomfort of unfulfilled urges; their tempers would also worsen and flare up exponentially.
Because she didn’t want to get pregnant and have cubs, their mating seasons only grew more severe year after year.
Once their desires went unfulfilled, a Beastman’s violent instincts would snap the thread of reason, leading them to do some uncontrollably wild things.
"It already started a few days ago." He started acting moody again, lowering his head to nuzzle her chest. "The day that wolf came back... I was going to look for you, but you took the initiative to go be with him instead..."
’Alright, no wonder he was so angry,’ An Jin thought. She said softly, "Then I’ll stay with you now. Don’t be angry anymore, okay?"
Only then did Mi Yin relent.
The room fell into darkness. Moonlight streamed through the window, illuminating the lovers entwined in a passionate embrace.
...
Last year’s rainy season was early, while this year’s was delayed by half a month.
The ships took advantage of this time to successfully complete two round-trip voyages. They sailed to over twenty city-tribes, transported several hundred tons of goods in total, and traded over a thousand Beast Crystals.
All 237 Beastmen who set sail also returned safely. They successfully weathered a dangerous typhoon midway through, with no casualties and only minor wear on the ships’ hulls.
This string of unprecedented numbers was tantamount to a miracle in the current Beast World.
More and more city-tribes and Beastmen joined in this maritime trade.
An Jin named the first ship "Voyager 1."
With the limits of geographical difficulty removed, the volume of commercial trade took another huge leap in just one month, with no signs of peaking yet.
"Voyager 1" could no longer meet the massive demand for trade. An Jin planned to mass-produce "Voyager 2" and "Voyager 3" next year, as well as build several more ports.
But that was all for later. This year’s difficult rainy season had already arrived with a vengeance, forcing all activities to a halt.
All the Beastmen were holed up in their homes, waiting for the first downpour to end.
Black clouds roiled across a sky as dark as splashed ink. The roar of thunder was deafening as a typhoon and a torrential downpour descended upon the precarious continent in unison. The sheeting rain slammed hard against the tempered glass, washed away by the next violent torrent before it could even leave a mark.
Within the black clouds, where countless small, purple dragons of electricity seemed to dart about, a ferocious, dragon-like bolt of lightning would occasionally rip through, instantly illuminating the pitch-black world.
An Jin shut the windows tightly to prevent any rain from leaking in. She also drew the curtains without leaving the slightest gap, completely shutting out the terrifying, apocalyptic world outside.
