Desmond’s POV

I cut out a bit of the shadow deer stark and put it on Heaven’s plate.

She looked at me and gave me a small smile.

"Desmond, you know servants don’t special delicacy, especially a shadow deer. They’ll never know the worth." Maddie said smiling as if she was advising me on the basic way of life.

I just ignored her and but woke more meat on w plate

"You know her father is a trai...," Sofia said but she was interrupted.

Heaven dropped her spoon onto the plate and it made a loud noise that cut Sofia off.

She sighed, pushed my hand away from her waist, and stood up.

She looked an Maddie and Elle, then at Sofia, then she looked at my brothers , but me lastly.

Heaven reached out and pushed her chair intentionally.

Bang!

It made a loud bang sound that startled Sofia, making her jump and scream a little as she moved closer to Damian for protection

"Ah!"

"She’s so scary, Damian," said Sofia, clutching onto Damian.

I looked at Heaven and saw pure anger.

Heaven slowly walked towards where Damian, Damon, and Sofia were. We were all looking at her. We didn’t know what she was going to do.

She stopped and stood in front of Sofia who saw on the Luna’s chair when her hand on Damian’s chest.

I knew something was going to happen. I had the urge to go and drag Heaven out of there so that she wouldn’t get hurt, but I didn’t want to do that while people were watching.

Touching and holding her was one thing but defending her in front of every one in the room was another thing.

"Damian, I think she’s going to tear my dress just like before again," Sofia said, clutching to Damian more.

But Damian didn’t say anything. He was quiet.

Maddie stood up from her chair. "She’s not going to do anything," she said as she placed her hand on her waist.

"Yes, she won’t do anything, I dare her," Elle said as she stood from the chair and folded her arms.

I sighed and looked at Dylan who was close to me, but he was still eating his meat. He didn’t even look up to see what was going on.

"Dylan, are you seeing what’s going on?" I asked him, confused that he was unbothered.

"I don’t care if they tear themselves apart," he said, chewing his food.

"What? What about Heaven?" I asked because my wolf was growling. He wants me to help Heaven to stop her from getting herself in trouble but Dylan was enjoying his food unfazed.

Why wasn’t this wolf scratching inside of him? Why was I the only one going through it? 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Dylan looked up at Sofia then down at me.

"Well, I’m bothered about her or at least my wolf is, so I’m trying my best here, Desmond. I’m focused on the food so that I won’t watch her get hurt."

He said and went straight back to eating. I looked at my brothers and frowned. When did we become Cowards. When did we become so afraid of showing our love in public?

I looked back at Heaven, she looked strong but I saw the hurt in her eyes.

Sofia stopped shaking. She let go of holding Damian’s arm and stood up. She probably got the courage because my sisters were boosting her morale, and now she stood up straight in front of Heaven to challenge her.

Her big boobs bulged on her cloth when she stood upright and that was all I could look at before she spoke.

"Do you think I’m afraid of you?" Sofia said. Her voice was a little shaky but I don’t think anyone would have heard it if they didn’t really listen.

Then Sofia came close to her a little, she had her arm across her chest.

"What are you going to do? You worthless piece of shit," Sofia said trying to provoke Heaven.

I looked at Beta Hayden expecting that he would stop his daughter from insulting the Luna but instead he had a bold smile on his face.

Beta Hayden was smiling at the fact that his daughter was putting down the Luna of the full moon pack under his watch. As a Beta he wasn’t supposed to let this happen no matter what. His loyalty lies in the Alphas and the Luna.

But it wasn’t like I was any better. I was her mate and her Alpha I should be the one protecting her but I wasn’t.

"Heaven, get back to your seat," Damian said.

"Didn’t you hear him, Shoo," Sofia said to Heaven as if she was a dog.

Heaven looked at Sofia for the last time before turning towards me.

A guard at the door quickly picked up the chair Heaven had pushed to the floor.

I gave her a small smile. Thank the Goddess that no one got hurt. I looked down at the plate in front of me.

"Filthy daughter of a traitor," I heard Sofia say.

When I lifted my head to look at Heaven she wasn’t coming close to me anymore. She was now in front of Sofia.

I didn’t know how it happened but the next second Heaven lifted her hand and it landed on Sofia’s cheek. It was a resounding slap.

Sofia’s head turned to the right and she screamed in pain and began to cry.

I stood up from my seat immediately, Dylan, Damon and Damian followed to their feet. They were shocked beyond belief.

I was surprised and shocked. Who would have thought that Heaven would have the courage to do something like this.

Without warning, Damian launched a heavy slap on Heaven face. I didn’t even have the chance to stop him.

Heaven landed on the floor, a slap of an Alpha was stronger than any other one.

"How dare you slap Sofia," he said with anger.

I never expected Damian to do such a thing. To slap a she-wolf who was our mate?

I watched as Maddie and Elle rushed to Sofia’s side to check on her. But they ignored Heaven.

My wolf was growling anger. I looked at Dylan and It was the same for him. It was the same for Damon too, I’m sure he was trying hard not to show it but I could see and feel it through our brotherly bond.

I looked at Heaven, she was there alone. I rushed to her side and Dylan followed. We pulled her up to her feet.

Dylan let go and I held her waist and brought her closer to me.

"Let me see," I said holding her chin to the side to examine her face. Her face was all red and swollen. All five of Damian’s fingers was imprinted on her face.

"It’s all swollen, come let’s put ointment on it," I said about to take her out

Heaven pushed me away. She had tears in her eyes.

"Heaven..." I said coming closer to her but she took a step back. I felt hurt, my wolf felt angry.

She looked at everyone, then turned around and walked towards the door.

"Heaven! Don’t you dare turn your back on me. Get back here now!" Damian roared.

But Heaven didn’t stop, she increased her walking pace. She walked out and closed the door behind her.

I looked at Damian angrily before walking out to go stop her.

My heart was hurt seeing her unhappy so I had to go to her.

"Desmond, don’t go," I heard Sofia’s voice but I didn’t stop.

My wolf was angry and so was I. Damian had hurt our wolf in the most painful way ever. He had put his hands on her by slapping her. I would never forgive him.
