Fated To Four Alphas Even Though I Am Mute-Chapter 27: Dead
Desmond’s POV
My brothers and I were in our chambers. I
was with Sofia. The door suddenly opened and she ran in. She bowed deeply and her eyes darted everywhere like she had lost something.
"How dare you, how can you enter the Alpha
chamber without knocking!!" Sofia yelled at
her and she moved back a bit.
I clouded the book I was reading and looked over my shoulder and saw a young girl breathing heavily.
"Who’s she?" I asked.
"She’s Heaven’s handmaiden," Sofia replied
looking at her from her head to her toe like was dirt.
Now that I think of it I remember looking
at her files with Sofia’s father to pick out a potential handmaiden for Heaven.
"I’m sorry that I didn’t knock, Alphas, my name is Becca and I... "
"Nobody cares about your name, just tell us
what the issue is" Sofia snapped.
"It’s Luna Heaven!!" she said panicking
"Something is wrong. Mrs Higgins sent me to
tell you that Luna Heaven locked herself in the bathroom hour ago and she’s not
answering!!"
I dropped the book and stood up immediately. Damian, Damon and Dylan stood up in shocked, they looked utterly scared.
Sofia rolled her eyes. "Oh please," she said
"she’s probably pretending."
I did not ever look at her. "How long has she been there?"
"For more than an hour," Becca said.
My heart started beating fast. My brother and I walked towards the door in an hurry.
"Where are you going? Dont tell me you’re Seriously going to her?" Sofia said.
"Stay here!" Damian said to her and we rushed towards Heaven’s room.
We ran towards heaven’s room. Mrs Higgins stood outside the bathroom door worried.
I rushed to her side when she saw us.
"Thank the moon goddess, you’re here",
she said, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"I have been knocking for thirty minutes but
she’s not responding and I didn’t know what
to do."
I moved towards the door and knocked again for an answer.
"Heaven, it’s Desmond. Open the door!" I said hoping for reply.
I thought that maybe she would open the door if she heard that it was me but I know that she wouldn’t because of what we did to her.
"Step back, I’m breaking the door" I yelled incase she was close to the door so that I wouldn’t hurt her.
I lifted my leg and kicked the door opened in one kick and what I saw made my heart stop beating.
"Oh my Goddess" Becca gasped, it was a terrible sight.
Heaven was naked and unconscious in the
tub. The water around her was pink, meaning
she’s bleeding somewhere and her lips were
turning blue
"Get me a towel," I said.
Mrs Higgins was already with one, she handed it to me. I picked up Heaven in my arms and wrapped the towel around
her.
It felt like she was freezing because of how cold her body felt.
I carried her to the bed and laid her down. Damian pulled the blanket as I laid her down.
I saw her body clearly, I saw the scars, and the bruises all over her body, there was even fresh wound on her legs and arm. what the hell did she do to her body.
"Is she alive?" Dylan asked. He looked as
scared as I was.
Mrs. Higgins did not answer, she was concentrated on Heaven’s neck, checking for a pulse.
"Mrs. Higgins?" Damian asked.
"Yes," she said, and I let out a deep sigh.
"But she is very cold. Rub her hands and feet, let’s warm her up."
I realized that she had ordered us, but I didn’t care. Heaven was on the verge of death and she needed saving. Nothing else mattered.
Dylan and Damon grabbed her feet and began rubbing, while Damian and I rubbed her palms.
"Please tell me she’ll survive," I said.
She didn’t hear us this time. she was busy checking Heaven’s body as she mumbled to herself.
I looked up and saw Sofia by the door with her arms folded. She hadn’t listened when Damian told her not to come.
"Becca, get a bowl of hot water and a cloth," Mrs. Higgins said.
Becca ran to the bathroom and in a few seconds, she came out with it. Mrs. Higgins took the cloth and placed it on Heaven’s head.
After a while, Mrs. Higgins sighed. "This won’t do, I’ll have to get my healing kit. Just keep rubbing," she said.
She walked towards the door, then paused and shot Sofia a look. Sofia shifted uneasily as Mrs. Higgins left.
I looked up at Sofia. "Go and rest."
She refused then came to stand beside Damian.
"I’m not leaving unless we go together," she said, pouting.
"We’re not leaving!" Dylan said.
"Please, I’m sure she’ll be okay. Her handmaiden is here, she can watch over her," Sofia said, but we didn’t move.
I turned around and looked at Becca. She was in a corner crying. She must have bonded with Heaven to cry over someone she just met a while ago.
"Just go, we’ll be here for a while," Damon said.
"No, I don’t wa.."
"Leave now!" Damon yelled, cutting Sofia off.
Sofia flinched. He took a deep breath to calm down, came closer to her, and stroked her hair.
"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to yell. I just need you to go and rest. Remember, we have the ball tomorrow and you need your beauty sleep to look the prettiest."
He smiled softly to Sofia and she nodded.
"Okay," she said, smiling.
She looked at each of us, then at the unconscious Heaven, and her smile disappeared.
Then she left and the room was quiet.
"How did this happen?" Damian asked quietly, looking at Heaven.
"Today was probably too much for her," Damon said, and we all shot him a look.
"This is because of what you did in the bathroom," I said, angry.
Damon pressed his lips together and cleared his throat.
"Tell us what you did to her, Damon," said Damian.
Damon looked away, then he looked back at us. "I kissed her."
"What?" we all said at the same time.
"Don’t look at me like I killed someone. I kissed her, that is it, and I couldn’t help it," he said. "She’s too beautiful to resist. Don’t tell me you don’t feel like touching her too?"
We did not respond. We were probably all guilty of it. I know I was.
"She can’t die on us," Damian said, cutting the awkward atmosphere.
We nodded. None of us wanted her dead, but we hadn’t thought twice before hurting her.
"We need to attend the ball with her tomorrow. Otherwise, what are people going to think?" Damian said.
I couldn’t believe him. Damian was thinking about reputation while Heaven was still unconscious.
"Is that all you could think about?" Dylan asked Damian, as if he knew what I was thinking.
The door opened. Mrs. Higgins hurried in. She carried a wooden box. The room felt awkward when she entered.
"Did she wake?" she asked.
"No," Becca said as she hurried to her side.
Mrs. Higgins opened the box. She took out a blue pill, it look familiar.
She opened the pill. She poured the powder in Heaven’s mouth, tilting Heaven’s head back.
"She will be fine now," Mrs. Higgins said. But she still looked worried. "It is better if she does not see you when she wakes. She will be scared."
Mrs Higgins said trying to send us away.
"I’ll stay with her then, till she regains consciousness I said.
I didn’t want to leave her side even for a one second.
"It might take a while for her to regain consciousness, are you sure you can wait," Mrs Higgins said.
I nodded, it didn’t matter if it took days, I would still be with her.
Mrs. Higgins looked at me for a long time. She nodded. She handed me another blue pill.
"Give this to her when she wakes. It helps the pain."
She and Becca bowed and left.
My brothers stayed for a moment. They looked at Heaven one last time. Then they left too.
I climbed on the bed and I watched her for hours.
