Fated: The Alpha's Unwanted Luna-Chapter 152: Contacting the future supreme Luna_Part 1
"You can’t meet the supreme Alpha," came Matt’s hardened voice directed at Evan and his Beta, Eliot, who had stopped him in the hallway while he was hurrying to answer Sebastian’s furious summons through their mind link.
Matt hadn’t been present when the encounter between Evan and his friend had taken place in the lobby, but he had heard everything he needed to hear to know exactly what had happened. And if Evan wasn’t the Alpha of another pack, Matt genuinely would have punched the man right then and there on his idiotic face.
After beating a member of their pack, a future Luna at that, one whom Matt had noticed had been the quiet cause of Sebastian’s recent happiness, his newfound excitement to eat his meals and the hours he spent on calls with her late into the night, he wanted nothing more than to strangle this Evan where he stood. Not only had he damaged Seb’s mood, he had disrespected their Luna in her own territory!
And after all of that, he expected Matt to help him arrange a private meeting with Sebastian? Was the man drunk on the wrong wine? Or was it that his brain was filled with nothing but mush?
"But you are his Beta, you can make a meeting happen between us. I really need to speak with him and apologize for the circumstances in which we met. I won’t take much of his time, I just want a word." Evan said with a composed smile and a look of complete innocence on his face as he addressed Matt, but the more Matt remained firm and insisted that the Alpha couldn’t see him as he was busy, the more Evan felt his patience begin to fray.
Who did this fool think he was? A mere Beta speaking to him as though he were some lowly servant requesting an audience with a lord, when he himself was an Alpha who deserved far more respect from the likes of him!
If it hadn’t been for the supreme Alpha’s vindictiveness in blacklisting them, Moonwillow would have been just as advanced and ahead of the other packs as Silver was. They would have ranked up, and someone like this Beta wouldn’t have the audacity to stand here and refuse his request to meet the supreme Alpha.
"Just as I said, Alpha Evan, the supreme Alpha is far too busy to spare any moment of his time speaking with you. If you are that desperate for a meeting, you will have to wait until his schedule clears and he decides to grant you one himself. If that is all you stopped me for, I will be on my way."
Matt said with a strained politeness and began to turn away, but Beta Eliot shot his hand forward and gripped his arm, causing Matt to go still. A deep scowl settled on his face as he dropped his hazel eyes to the hand wrapped around his arm before slowly looking back up to be met with Beta Eliot’s smile.
"I am sorry to hold you up. But you might want to treat us with a little more respect and grant us this small wish of meeting the supreme Alpha." Beta Eliot remarked, still smiling, and Matt arched a questioning brow.
"And why is that?"
What was wrong with this Beta and Alpha duo?
"I understand you may not have known, or perhaps my little girl simply forgot to mention it, but I am the girl’s father. Your future supreme Luna, she is my daughter. Surely attending to the in-laws of the supreme Alpha should be considered a priority. You are welcome to call her and ask her yourself, she will not deny that I am her father." Beta Eliot said with all the entitlement of a man who believed he still held full rights over his daughter simply because he had raised her with his own sweat and blood.
Though that girl had disappointed him in more ways than one, it appeared she was making it up to him now by attaching herself to the supreme Alpha. He had no idea how she had managed it or how she had ended up becoming the future supreme Luna, but Beta Eliot didn’t particularly care about the details. What he cared about right now was getting reacquainted with her and using her newfound position to secure the favors their pack so desperately needed.
After everything they had done for her and the life they had given her, the very least she could do was repay them by asking the supreme Alpha to grant them a meeting so they could discuss everything that had been withheld from Moonwillow and begin to repair the damage of past mistakes.
Matt stared at Beta Eliot for a long moment before the corner of his lip curled slightly. "I can’t believe you have the nerve to stand here and say those words, Beta Eliot. The last time I checked, our future supreme Luna came from the North Pack, not Moonwillow. How shameless of you to stand here and claim another person’s daughter as your own." He said with a quiet, humorless chuckle.
Matt was well aware that Viola was their adoptive daughter, but he didn’t believe for a single second that they deserved to still lay claim to her, not after what had played out in the lobby today. And if Beta Eliot believed that simply having once been her father would earn him a free pass with Sebastian, then he was gravely mistaken. The supreme Alpha was in a raging mood and wanted their blood on his hands after what they had done to Viola.
They didn’t know it yet, but by laying hands on his woman, they had just compounded the offences they had already accumulated against Sebastian over the years, and Matt had absolutely no intention of making things easier for them by bringing them anywhere near the supreme Alpha.
And so, to rid himself of them, he said, "If she is truly your daughter, then you can ask her to introduce you to the Alpha as her family herself. But I am afraid there is nothing I can do on my end. Have a nice day." Saying that, Matt didn’t give them the chance to grab at him again and walked away without looking back.
"The nerve of that fucker!" Evan gritted out, watching Matt’s retreating back with his hands gripping his head, knowing full well that he couldn’t have come all the way to the Silver Pack for nothing without mending the feud.
"What are we going to do now?" Beta Eliot questioned, looking just as stressed as Evan himself, but then as though an idea had struck him, he answered his own question.
"We can call that good-for-nothing daughter of mine to help us. No matter what has happened, she still owes Moonwillow for her luck in getting the supreme Alpha. If you hadn’t given her to Ember in the first place, there is absolutely no way she would have been this lucky!"
Evan’s gold eyes relaxed at those words and he smiled. "You are right, she still owes us. How are we going to contact her? The bitch doesn’t have a mind link or anything to reach out to. She still a useless wolfless."
"Leave that to me. I will find her contact before tonight." Beta Eliot said with quiet confidence.
