Chapter 949 -949: Some Truths of the Past
Even then, she had been spoiled and arrogant towards him.
For instance, when she was sick and he asked her to take medicine, she’d find it bitter and refuse to take it, even throwing tantrums at him.
When it got cold, he’d tell her to wear more clothes, but she’d forego warmth in favor of looking good and refuse.
If she got into a fight with a boy and he scolded her, she would ignore him for days.
Being a kid was great, not understanding anything and doing whatever she wanted.
If she liked him, she would confess her feelings straightforwardly.
Now, thinking back, she realized she had overstepped.
“I quite enjoy talking with Miss Yale, someone with your personality must be well-liked by many,” Cora Jorney said with a smile. “We had a pleasant conversation today, let’s have some tea. Try the tea I’ve prepared and see how you like it.”
Jasmine Yale took a sip of the black tea; it was quite nice.
“Miss Yale, if you need anything, just tell me. I’ve heard about you from my colleagues in the foreign languages department, and they have nothing but praise for you.”
“Professor Jorney, it’s been a chance meeting, but I don’t want to trouble you any further. It’s getting late, and I think I should be heading home,” Jasmine Yale said as she stood up and took Cora Jorney’s business card.
“Miss Yale, actually, I would really like to help you with something—I think we hit it off quite well.”
Jasmine Yale paused in her tracks.
There was a profound gloss in her eyes, though not much sparkle.
She silently looked at the tall trees outside the office and the college students coming and going.
Then she turned to look at Cora Jorney.
“Professor Jorney, if possible, could you help me find someone?” Jasmine suddenly asked.
She remembered Joan Harry’s father was a member of the government, and many things even Joe Heath couldn’t manage, Joan’s father certainly could.
“Find someone? Who are you looking for?” Cora Jorney asked with a polite smile. “That’s easy, especially if they are in Landon.”
“My father, Kaine Zahir,” Jasmine spoke frankly.
“Your father? I thought you were an orphan?” Cora Jorney said.
“I was abandoned at the age of eight, but my father, he is still alive. I just can’t find him. He came to Landon last year, and we met.”
“I see, tell me some information, and when I get back, I’ll have my husband’s secretary help look for him.” Cora Jorney was willing to assist.
Jasmine Yale nodded.
She gave Cora Jorney some information about Kaine Zahir, feeling that asking Cora Jorney was very appropriate for this matter.
Cora Jorney took the information seriously. Since Jasmine Yale wouldn’t take her money, helping her out would square things away.
She didn’t want to go looking for trouble with a girl for no reason.
“Thank you, Professor Jorney. If there’s any news, please call me, but don’t tell anyone else, okay?”

“Okay, this won’t be hard, my husband can handle it.”
Jasmine Yale knew she had found the right person.
All the money in the world couldn’t compare to having power and influence.
“Miss Yale, let’s keep our meeting today a secret from everyone else, shall we?” Cora Jorney said.
“I can do that,” Jasmine Yale nodded.
To her, all of these matters were not of great importance.
What she most wanted now was to find Kaine Zahir and get some clear answers about the past.
She had a strong feeling that the man in the photo was her biological father.
It seemed her mother didn’t particularly like Kaine Zahir.
As for love… it couldn’t be eaten as food.
“Miss Yale, stay for lunch. I’ll take you to a restaurant near the school. We seem to have quite a lot to talk about, why don’t we sit down for a while?” Cora Jorney invited her.
Jasmine Yale believed she was no match for Cora Jorney.
Speaking too much would likely lead to a slip-up; she couldn’t afford to continue chatting with Cora Jorney.
Jasmine Yale shook her head: “No, thank you. A friend has already made plans with me.”
