Fatal Strike: Mercenary Road of Gunfire Ranger-Chapter 965 - 900: Drunken Scene
Mountain Eagle and the others parked their vehicle on an open space by the river. After the boy Luca made a few radio calls, a dozen boys aged around sixteen or seventeen quickly ran over from downstream.
Seeing those boys pushing various trolleys emerging from the woods, Mountain Eagle curiously walked over to take a look and discovered a hidden trail leading into the woods downstream…
The trail was not passable for vehicles, so supplies had to be transported manually.
The big guy Sako shouted angrily at a bunch of boys who were overly excited by the cigarettes and drinks, then handed over the situation to his subordinates to deal with the boys. He then walked over to Mountain Eagle and said, "We've already been delayed for a long time, let me take you inside..."
By this time, Mountain Eagle had put down all his guards. He reached out to pat Robbin, who remained tense, on the back, then followed Sako's lead.
The 'Northern Brigade' had chosen a very concealed location for their campsite. After walking along a trail through the river-side woods for more than ten minutes and bypassing a hill, they entered an open valley.
A tributary of a small river ran through the valley, with snow melting and merging from both sides of the mountain into the tributary and flowing downstream.
Even though it was not summer now, Mountain Eagle could imagine how beautiful the valley would be in summer.
Thanks to the mountain's shelter, the temperature in the valley was not too low…
Mountain Eagle saw not only a stretch of barracks and training grounds but also hundreds of people undergoing military training.
The person who planned and built this camp was an expert. They extended outposts using the surrounding hills, effectively expanding the camp's vigilance range. They also set up a cable car system connecting the hilltop outposts, though it required a person to tie themselves with ropes and hang on.
When entering the camp following Sako, Mountain Eagle saw a large pile of oil barrels stacked at the front of the camp.
As Mountain Eagle passed by, he shook one of the barrels, discovering they were filled with dirt.
These were not fuel as he initially imagined but rather disguised fuel barrel shelters.
Apart from a pile at the front of the camp, these 'shelters' were also present inside the camp. The positioning of these barrels and the scarce machine gun positions were evidently designed by a professional.
Without closely examining, Mountain Eagle could simulate several routes in his mind, allowing the people in the camp to freely choose their positions whether they were advancing or retreating, regardless of the direction from which an enemy might approach.
The camp appeared very basic, but in reality, it was designed entirely according to combat standards.
Sako greeted a few individuals in the camp, then looked back at Mountain Eagle with a somewhat proud expression and said, "This is the camp of the Northern Brigade. We train here and then go fight those Albanian scumbags."
Mountain Eagle followed Sako's footsteps, nodding and saying, "This looks pretty good, but it doesn't seem particularly safe...
This place is several kilometers from the Kosovo border, still within Serbia. Who are you defending against by setting up the camp like this?
The camp appears to accommodate over a thousand people, yet I've only seen a hundred or so, and they seem to be new recruits lacking decent weapons."
Sako's steps paused slightly, his face showing a bit of a grim expression as he said, "That's our own issue..."
Mountain Eagle looking at Sako's big face, on which all emotions seem to be written, shook his head and said, "Is there an internal issue within the Northern Brigade?"
"How do you know?"
Mountain Eagle's words instantaneously froze the atmosphere, prompting Sako to instinctively say, "You know..."
Before finishing his sentence, Sako realized and closed his mouth in time, then cautiously looked at Mountain Eagle and said in a deep voice, "Follow me, our boss is in that building over there..."
......
What was referred to as a building was actually a simple two-story structure constructed with prefab panels and color steel tiles, typical of East Coast construction sites.
Sako greeted the two guards stationed at the door and then opened the door, inviting Mountain Eagle and Robbin to enter the building together.
Robbin stopped at the door, greeted the two guards with a smile, then gestured to Mountain Eagle that he would stay outside…
To be honest, Mountain Eagle was very pleased with Robbin's performance. This soldier from SAS, though similar in age to Mountain Eagle, was experienced, and most importantly, he positioned himself well. He clearly understood what he should do in any given situation!
He was a standard outstanding elite produced by a military training system!
Mountain Eagle patted Robbin's shoulder, letting him know he recognized his professionalism and goodwill, then stepped into the building.
Upon entering, Mountain Eagle was overwhelmed by a repulsive smell, prompting him to step back…
The living room was chaotic, with overturned sofas, cluttered tables, countless empty bottles on the floor, and a large amount of vomit in the corner of the room...
Eddie of the Bajao people lay beside the vomit pile. If it weren't for his throat still moving, Mountain Eagle would have thought he was dead.
Mountain Eagle hurried to Eddie's side, squatted down, looked at the sprayed vomit in the corner and the remnants at his mouth, and sighed with a slight smile…
Despite being dead drunk, this fellow knew to lie on his side on the floor before losing consciousness to keep breathing easily and prevent himself from choking on his vomit.
Holding his breath and grabbing Eddie, Mountain Eagle dragged him beside the overturned sofa and forcefully righted the broken sofa…
Just as he was about to lay Eddie on the sofa, he discovered that the old guy, Camel, was lying in the corner behind the sofa back.
Camel's condition was slightly better than Eddie, but only just a little...
This situation made Mountain Eagle sigh helplessly. He had to move the sofa aside, then drag Camel out of the corner, stuff both old men into the sofa, and finally, he didn't forget to take a photo of them together.
After settling these two guys, Mountain Eagle looked at Sako, who had a somewhat gloating expression beside him, and said irritably, "Where are the others?"
Sako didn't speak but pointed with his chin towards a room on the side...
Mountain Eagle strode over and knocked on the door a few times, then reached out and opened the door. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Upon entering, Mountain Eagle found that this was a fairly well-furnished small reception room.
The room had a shelf full of drinks, a small round table with four chairs in the center, and along the wall were three two-seater sofas, separated by a square table in between.
On the round table in the center of the room were seven or eight bottles of alcohol, whiskey, brandy, fruit wine...
Mi Lu was sitting opposite an old man with graying hair, a beard, and a scar on his cheekbone...
Both old guys held a cup in their hands, staring at each other with vacant eyes,
Blood Fox sat on the sofa next to them, his obese body folding forward, holding the back of a chair with both hands, and his big head resting on his knees...
When Mountain Eagle entered, Blood Fox was gasping, and a large amount of vomit spewed from his mouth, instantly flooding over his feet.
The disgusting smell quickly began to permeate the room...
Just as Mountain Eagle was about to step forward to help the clearly nearly unconscious Blood Fox, Mi Lu, who was sitting upright in the chair, began to gag, then 'ugh'...
A large amount of something like liquor mixed with stomach contents sprayed directly onto the old man opposite...
After vomiting, Mi Lu became a bit more sober. The old guy looked at the still stationary old man across from him, was startled for a moment, and then staggered to stand, reaching out to press on the old man's neck...
Confirming that this statue-like old man still had a heartbeat, Mi Lu stood upright, looked at Mountain Eagle, who had just come in, smiled and said, "I won..."
Then Mi Lu, like a tree being felled, fell straight backward.
"Fuck..."
Mountain Eagle didn't have time to check on Blood Fox's situation; he rushed forward to support the completely drunken Mi Lu, grabbed this over 200-pound fat man, and dragged him to the sofa, laying him head out. Then he looked at the still upright old man remaining in place...
Just as he was about to call Sako in for help, a brown-haired woman in a combat uniform walked into the room with Sako and several subordinates.
Seeing the vomit on the old man, the woman slightly frowned, whispered a few words to Sako, and had him and his people carry the old man out of the room.
Seeing Mountain Eagle let Blood Fox lay down, and thoughtfully place a bottle of mineral water in the arms of the two drunk men, the woman pressed her thin lips together, and in a slightly husky voice said, "Are you Mountain Eagle? Is that one outside your subordinate?"
Mountain Eagle straightened up, nodded, and said, "I am Mountain Eagle, the guy outside is called Robbin. He's not my subordinate, he's more of an ally..."
"And who are you?"
The brown-haired woman was nearly 1.8 meters tall, looked strong, and had long legs. Her looks were just average, but she had a strong and rugged temperament.
"I'm Sang Jia, Sang Jia Tadic, Colonel Tadic is my father..."
Mountain Eagle, looking at the somewhat aloof Sang Jia, followed the old man being carried out with his eyes, and said with amusement, "Is that Colonel Tadic?"
Sang Jia's face had little expression. She pushed open the window beside her, letting the cold air from outside blow in, then gestured invitingly to Mountain Eagle, saying, "Come with me..."
Mountain Eagle glanced at the two old men curled up on the sofa, followed Sang Jia's steps, and as he passed the window, he slightly closed it, and when he entered the odor-filled living room, he didn't forget to add a few thick logs to the fireplace.
Sang Jia opened the door on the other side of the living room, hesitated after seeing Mountain Eagle's actions, then stood at the door and made an inviting gesture...
"You don't look like a mercenary..."
Mountain Eagle found a dirty blanket for each Eddie and Camel and covered them, then handed them each a bottle of water...
Upon hearing Sang Jia's words, Mountain Eagle said somewhat distressedly, "I'm indeed not...
But in this world, some things are hard to say. Often, our identity is determined by the impression others have of us."
With that, Mountain Eagle looked at Sang Jia, and with a smile, said, "Just like you, if I hadn't seen you in the Northern Brigade's camp, the first time I saw you, I might have guessed you were an athlete..."
Sang Jia was taken aback for a moment, lowered her eyelids slightly, and said in a somewhat complex tone, "I was supposed to be a tennis player..."
