Farming with Entries: From Lord to Emperor-Chapter 493 - 259: Strange Emblem (Part 2)
Leviathan shouted loudly, begging for mercy, "I really have nothing to hide!"
Wolfhoof slapped Leviathan on the head, "Shut up, don’t disturb the Saint Master’s thoughts!"
Leviathan immediately bowed and closed his mouth.
After a long time, Rod turned around,
"Now you need to list out all the relationships within the Red Griffin Clan for me."
"Including those friendly with Susanna, those hostile, and those indifferent."
"Also, who are Susanna’s most loyal servants, and so on."
"In short, write down anyone associated with the Red Griffin Clan."
Rod solemnly said, "Remember, my people will verify everything you write, so it’s best not to deceive me."
Leviathan’s eyes widened, Rod was asking him to betray the entire Red Griffin Clan!
"But I’m just a servant, I don’t know much, sir!"
"Write down as much as you know."
Rod said leisurely, "Based on the value of what you write, I’ll consider whether to keep your name."
"This..."
Leviathan sighed helplessly.
Originally thinking he could just scribble something to get by, now there’s no way.
Who knows what this Baron will consider valuable information?
Leviathan could only write down everything he knew.
"Alright, sir, I’ll write what I know."
"Go ahead."
Rod waved his hand, letting Wolfhoof take Leviathan away to write.
After everyone left, Vivian massaged Rod’s shoulders, asking, "Baron, are you planning to deal with Susanna next?"
"Yes, now that we’ve taken action, we must arrange things early."
Rod leaned his head on Vivian’s abdomen, closing his eyes, "We must control the situation before the news gets back, otherwise Lord Earl might be in danger."
The old Count admitted to his marriage with Vivian, thus completely opposing Susanna.
Susanna might act recklessly, we must ensure she’s dealt with before then.
Of course, Rod would definitely block the news, making it spread as slowly as possible.
But if the caravan doesn’t return, Susanna will surely become suspicious and start investigating.
"Do you have any ideas, or does your sister have any ideas?"
Rod asked.
"No."
Vivian shook her head with a troubled expression, "The Red Griffin Castle is too far from here, can we help?"
"Yes, you’re right."
Rod replied solemnly.
From the Northern Wasteland to the Red Griffin Family is at least a thousand kilometers, even longer due to winding paths.
Even if traveling day and night, it would take a month for the troops to get there.
Moreover, they’d have to pass through many noble territories, whether they’d be allowed through is another matter.
"That’s why I need to think of other ways."
Rod sighed, opening his eyes, "We can use force against force."
"What do you mean?" Vivian’s eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"Susanna’s current situation is merely a fox relying on a tiger’s prestige."
Rod pulled Vivian into his arms, a mysterious smirk on his lips,
"Given this, we can undermine the fox’s foundation and help your father, the tiger, regain his strength."
"Regain his strength?"
Vivian seemed somewhat confused.
She wanted to ask more, but footsteps sounded outside.
Vivian quickly rose from Rod’s embrace and stood properly, as Durant’s figure appeared, knocking on the open door.
"Baron, Sloer’s treasure location has been found."
Durant reported.
"Oh? Based on the map he provided?"
Rod was somewhat surprised, "Does that mean I wronged him?"
"No, Baron, his scroll contained a paralyzing spell, the soldier who opened it stayed immobile for a while."
Durant shook his head helplessly, "And the scroll was blank, with nothing on it."
"Then you’re quite efficient to have found it so quickly." Rod praised with a smile.
"It was Sloer’s woman who told us."
Durant explained, "She said Sloer went to the pigsty area several times on his own, and later we found a stone slab under the haystack beside the pigpen."
"Lifting the slab revealed a secret passage leading to a small cellar."
"Hmm, that’s quite interesting."
Rod thought for a moment and asked, "Does he have confidants among those tending to the pigs?"
As soon as Rod finished speaking, Durant immediately responded,
"Holder, come in!"
Durant’s deputy rushed in, first saluting Rod, then looking at Durant,
"Sir, what are your orders?"
"Go arrest everyone in town responsible for taking care of the pigs and interrogate them thoroughly." Durant instructed.
"Yes, sir!"
The deputy nodded firmly, saluted Rod, and swiftly left.
Durant turned, smiling with some self-blame, "You’re quick to react, I was slow."
"It’s normal, you were just more focused on that treasure cellar."
Rod chuckled, instructing, "Bring those treasures in, I want to see what he intended to use to buy his life."
"Alright, Baron."
Durant left quickly, soon returning with two boxes.
In the estate’s study, two heavy wooden boxes were placed on the long table.
The boxes emitted a faint pine scent, their surfaces marked by the passage of time, corners reinforced with heavy iron.
The locks had already been pried open, Rod stepped forward and lifted the lid of the first box, a weak mildew smell wafted out.
Inside, neatly arranged, were small wooden boxes.
Rod casually picked one up and opened it, a golden light instantly illuminated his face.
"Brand new Empire gold coins."
