Farm Tough Girl-Chapter 191 - 192 Do Not Allow Other Men to Touch You_1
Chapter 191: Chapter 192 Do Not Allow Other Men to Touch You_1
Chapter 191 -192 Do Not Allow Other Men to Touch You_1
Yu Ze dismounted and took Muniang’s hand, his voice steady as he said, “From now on, I’ll protect you.”
The threads of tension in Muniang’s heart unraveled in an instant. Having lacked a sense of security since childhood and being sensitive by nature, her mind had been in turmoil upon realizing his change of heart, with many worries exploding like fireworks. Her greatest fear was that he might not want her anymore, but now here he was, looking at her with determination, telling her he would protect her on the journey ahead, and her face bloomed into a radiant smile, “Okay.”
Yu Ze’s lips curled in a small smile, proud of his wife, and felt so fortunate.
Yu Ze glanced over at Wu Haoli behind Muniang, a flash of sharpness appearing in his eyes, but it was quickly replaced by a smile, “Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Wu, for taking such good care of my wife.” The latter part carried a hint of warning.
Wu Haoli, however, seemed not to hear any warning, and responded with a light smile, “It was nothing.”
Muniang was still getting used to this sudden change in Yu Ze, who understanding her feelings, softly said, “Let’s go home first.”
Muniang nodded gently and then said to Wu Haoli, “Thank you for today, I will come to thank you properly another day.”
Wu Haoli looked at Yu Ze and with a provocative undertone said, “I’ll be waiting.”
Yu Ze pulled Muniang into his arms and lifted her onto the horse, turning to Wu Haoli, “We won’t trouble you in the future.”
Wu Haoli’s smile held a hint of mockery, “Who knows what the future holds?”
Yu Ze snorted softly and, with a flick of the whip, they rode off.
Muniang didn’t understand what they were saying. Yu Ze didn’t speed the horse because Muniang had never ridden before and he feared she might not cope well, so instead he kept the ride exceptionally smooth. Nestled in Yu Ze’s embrace, surrounded by that familiar scent, the feeling comforted her greatly. He was still her husband, unchanged.
“How did you get better?” Muniang asked.
Yu Ze replied, “It was just a momentary thing, when I suddenly remembered many things.”
Muniang laughed, joking, “It seems that fate really is something. But it looks like every time our family suffers, you remember something. Seems like we need the stimulation.”
However, Yu Ze said gravely, “Then I would rather stay unwell forever.” He couldn’t bear to see her wronged.
Muniang felt a warmth in her heart and secretly pursed her lips in a smile.
Suddenly, Yu Ze said, “From now on, I’ll protect you and won’t let you get hurt in any way. When you run into trouble, I want to be the first person you think of.”
Muniang paused and looked at him strangely, “Are you talking about Wu Haoli?”
Yu Ze tightened his hold around Muniang’s waist, the tone of his voice containing a warning, “And no other man is allowed to touch you.”

Only then did Muniang remember how, when he had ridden swiftly past her on the street, Wu Haoli seemed to have embraced her to prevent a collision. To remember such a detail in the midst of his haste – this man certainly had keen eyes.
“Got it,” Muniang replied with a teasing note in her voice. “Don’t be too hard on me, my waist is sore!”
Yu Ze’s lips quirked up again, and he tightened the reins, bringing the horse to a halt. Muniang turned to look at him, “What’s the matter?” They were only at the village entrance.
Yu Ze lifted Muniang off the horse, saying, “There are some urgent matters that need attention at court, and I have to go back for a while.”
As expected, Muniang frowned. Yu Ze knew she never liked dealing with court affairs.
“How long will you be gone? Will it be dangerous?” Muniang asked with a hint of sorrow; farewells were always difficult for her.
Yu Ze seriously replied, “Two months. I’ll definitely be back within two months, Muniang. Just this once, I will stabilize the situation for the Crown Prince, secure the realm for our Daqian Dynasty, and after that, I will no longer interfere in court affairs, okay?”
Muniang, however, said, “You have things you need to do, and as a man, you should also have such aspirations. I may not be able to help you, but I will certainly not become a burden to you. I don’t want you to choose between the court and me; I just want to be by your side and let you do what you want to do. You’re going away this time, and I won’t stop you. You said you’d be back in two months, and I will wait for you. Don’t give up anything for me.”
Yu Ze looked deeply at Muniang. When he told her that he had to return to the Capital City, he began to worry in his heart. If she had truly said not to go, he probably would have irrationally decided to stay by her side out of sheer selfishness.
Muniang’s face reddened a bit under his gaze: “Why are you staring at me like that?”
Yu Ze sighed, “If it weren’t for the danger in the Capital now, I would really like to take you back with me.”
Muniang replied irritably, “Why should I go back with you?”
Yu Ze smiled: “Even an ugly wife has to meet her in-laws.”
Muniang glared at him, but Yu Ze stretched out his long arm, wrapped it around her, and planted a kiss on her forehead: “Muniang, after I leave, please explain to my mother that I didn’t have time to bid her farewell. Wait for me.”
Muniang knew that if Yu Ze were to normally return to the village, there would probably be a lot of things to deal with, inevitably delaying him. She could tell from his tone earlier that the situation in the court must have become very urgent.
“Hmm,” Muniang nodded lightly.
“Qingya is already waiting for you on the other side. I’ll watch you go over.”
Muniang looked at Yu Ze in surprise; no wonder he had stopped here. He had evidently noticed Qingya at the entrance of the village. Muniang turned to look back but only saw rows of trees. Could this man have some kind of superpower to see that far?
At the village entrance, Qingya indeed had a carriage waiting there because she thought Muniang would return with Wu Haoli. After all, they had to consider Muniang’s reputation. If they entered the village and she was seen sharing a carriage with another man, the impact might not be good. Qingya was meticulous, which is why she had the carriage ready in advance.
But who would have thought that Muniang would come out alone from a small grove? Qingya tightened inside and quickly ran over: “Lady, why are you back by yourself? Didn’t Mr. Wu accompany you?”
Muniang still had an unusual blush on her face and simply said, “No, I came back by myself. Let’s go home.” With that, she walked toward the carriage.
Qingya muttered a complaint: “How could Mr. Wu do this? He didn’t even bother to send you with a carriage.”
However, Muniang seemed not to hear Qingya’s words as she looked towards the grove again, catching a glimpse of a figure flickering among the trees. Muniang curved her lips into a smile and bent over to get into the carriage.
Qingya felt it was strange and looked in that direction as well, but she saw nothing.
“Lady, what exactly happened with the master’s situation?” As soon as they were on the carriage, Qingya immediately asked.
Muniang replied with a light smile, “Let’s talk about it when we get back.”
Qingya nodded, but seeing the Lady’s relaxed demeanor, she probably figured things wouldn’t be too worrisome. Qingya also felt relieved.
Once they reached home, Muniang had just alighted from the carriage when she found Jin Feng sweeping up fallen leaves in the courtyard. Muniang was startled: “What are you doing here?” Yu Ze had rushed back to the Capital City. Wasn’t this guy in a hurry as if his life depended on it? Now that Yu Ze was fine, shouldn’t he be scampering off to the Capital City?
Jin Feng looked troubled: “The General asked me to stay behind, to ensure the Lady’s safety.”
Muniang laughed: “That must be quite a hardship for you.”
But Jin Feng suddenly clenched his fists and said, “Not at all! I will never shirk from any command the General gives!”
Muniang waved her hand dismissively: “Alright, alright, cousin, just make sure you clean up the yard and remember to chop the firewood.”
Jin Feng’s mouth twitched, and he felt like drawing circles on the ground in frustration.
