Fantasy Lord: I Have a Moving Castle-Chapter 35 - Castle Upgrade Wind Winged Horse
Chapter 35: Chapter 35 Castle Upgrade! Wind Winged Horse!
Chapter 35: Chapter 35 Castle Upgrade! Wind Winged Horse!
In the carriage, Char built the stove with the fastest speed possible.
The situation was critical, and his heart was filled with nervous anxiety. The more nervous he became, the more easily he could make mistakes. However, at this moment, Char seemed to have divine assistance—his hands were unusually stable, and he built the stove even faster than before.
Just then, Char’s figure swayed, nearly losing his balance.
But there was no frustration on his face; instead, there was a look of surprise.
Because the carriage’s speed had suddenly surged, it was the spike in velocity that caught him off guard and caused him to nearly lose his balance.

Unexpectedly, Old Ma had burst into action at the crucial moment.
…
On the hillside, as his underlings were being decimated by the attacks of Lantern Fireflies, two Bear Goblins let out a roar and leaped high, charging down the slope to strike at the Lantern Fireflies and Star Worms with fury.
Goblins breed quickly and are easily replenished, so the Bear Goblins didn’t fret too much over heavy casualties.
But Big Goblins were different; they were much harder to replenish than regular goblins. The loss of even one could cause considerable distress for two Bear Goblins.
Moreover, Char and his team had previously killed a Bear Goblin!
This time, for the Lantern Fireflies and Star Worms, the two Bear Goblins were settling both new and old scores!
The two Bear Goblins charged with formidable aggression. The Lantern Fireflies and Star Worms didn’t dare to directly confront them and instantly retreated, drifting apart. But the Bear Goblins’ attack wasn’t limited to the nail head hammer itself.
Although the nail head hammer failed to hit the Lantern Fireflies and Star Worms, the blood-red shockwaves that erupted when it hit the ground still scattered the Lantern Fireflies and Star Worms into disarray.
Strike while the enemy is sick, and he will die!
The two Bear Goblins immediately pursued the Lantern Fireflies—the Bear Goblins might not be the smartest, but they could still identify the most threatening enemy.
Suddenly, a blinding light shot forth, as if a small sun had appeared in front of them. The dazzling light was so intense it made the goblins screech and tear up.
The Star Worm timely activated “Blazing Light”, and under its cover, the Lantern Firefly launched “True Red Thorn”. A long trail of red light streaked across the whitely blazing hillside, lunging straight into the eyes of one of the Bear Goblins.
When Demon Beasts, including goblin-like humanoid Transcendents, use Skills, it consumes a significant amount of Magic Power, so it’s not a common tactic.
Over the course of a battle, Demon Beasts actually can’t use their Skills that many times.
Therefore, the Lantern Firefly wouldn’t easily use “Red Glow” or “True Red Thorn”, and the Star Worm wouldn’t easily use “Blazing Light”.
But if they could kill a Bear Goblin right then, they would still have a chance in this fight. So, without hesitation, the Lantern Firefly and the Star Worm activated their Skills.
The Lantern Firefly’s speed was incredibly fast, and it was close to piercing the Bear Goblin’s eyes when suddenly, the other Bear Goblin came sweeping in with its nail head hammer.
The Lantern Firefly had to dodge, and by the time it charged back, the Star Worm’s “Blazing Light” was already fading, and the attacked Bear Goblin had enough time to react and dodge.
In the end, “True Red Thorn” only wounded the Bear Goblin’s arm and failed to achieve a kill as before.
There was nothing they could do. Although the Star Worm was somewhat stronger than last time, this time they faced two Bear Goblins, and they were without the aid of the Lotus Leaf Frog, making the chances of a successful battle significantly less.
The goblins swarmed up, attacking the Lantern Firefly and Star Worm. The two Magic Pets dodged left and right in a fraught dance of danger.
“Star Worm! And the annoying Mr. Lantern, come back!”
Betty let out an anxious shriek.
The lantern in Lantern Firefly’s hand suddenly flared up, flames rising and drifting, expanding greatly in an instant, and then, with a flash, Lantern Firefly was beside the Star Worm, grabbing it, and, with the Star Worm at the center, spun around fiercely.
Sparks flew in all directions, and the Red Glow spread like splattering magma, blooming like red Persian chrysanthemums, expanding clockwise and forcing the goblins to retreat.
Seizing the opportunity, Lantern Firefly, holding onto the Star Worm, flew out of the encirclement and chased after the carriage.
Inside the carriage, Char’s hands moved quickly, finally shaping the stove; he threw the prepared designs onto the stove, and the next second, the designs melded with the stove…
Then, light!
A holy yet resplendent radiance appeared in the sight of Char, Betty, the Magic Pet, and the goblins, so brilliantly radiant and holy.
As if by miracle!
The divine light covered the entire carriage, including Old Ma who was pulling the carriage.
Although it was already morning, the sky had not fully brightened; in this semi-light, semi-darkness, the sacred light seemed even more dazzling.
Under the embrace of Prayer Light, the carriage began to transform, becoming wider and the top became higher, and even Old Ma, who was straining to pull the carriage, began to metamorphose.
But before the transformation of the carriage and Old Ma had finished, a loud explosion came from behind, startling Char who was just re-emerging from the carriage.
He faintly heard, amidst the explosion, several screams interspersed.
Char quickly leaned out to check the situation behind, only to see that an additional carriage compartment had suddenly appeared behind this section of the carriage, and as it appeared and fell heavily, it crushed several goblins and Big Goblins who were nearly catching up to the carriage upon impact.
The screams were theirs.
“This…”
Amazement was unmistakable on Char’s face; he had never expected a second compartment to appear following the upgrade.
When he had planned the game originally, there was no such design!
He remembered clearly, the second phase of the Castle was supposed to be a double-decker carriage, with the first floor for living and the second for farming and breeding.
Before the astonishment could fade from Char’s face, the carriage suddenly sped up, swiftly leaving the goblins behind.
In the distance, Old Ma, pulling the carriage, had completely changed appearance, shedding his old look and the dull brown of his fur turning into a beautiful sky blue, and even his stature transformed into something tall and majestic.
But these were not the most eye-catching, the most striking was the ethereal sky blue flames “burning” on his hooves and the billowing sky blue Wind Wings on either side of his spine.
Substantial sky blue whirlwinds scattered, part flying into the forest, part coiling underneath the carriage, making the originally heavy carriage much lighter, which increased the racing speed of the carriage even further.
[Wind Winged Horse]
[Skills]: Wind Wings (Level 1), Wind Blade Burst (Level 1), Light Wind (Level 1)
[Challenge Level]: 2
[Introduction]: This seems to be an uncommon Demon Beast, bred specifically for pulling carriages and riding. The Wind Winged Horse is the incarnation of wind, capable of racing across nearly any terrain. They excel at releasing a Light Wind that makes objects lighter and can also grow wings for brief swoops through the air. When faced with danger, they can unleash wind blades to attack enemies. Of course, the Wind Winged Horses are not true flying horses; their flying ability is not strong, nor can they maintain flight for an extended period of time.
