Falling for the Omega Idol-Chapter 222: THE FIFTH EPISODE (II)
AFTER that, a series of interviews were shown. The production team had asked some contestants about how they enjoyed their first day off.
One contestant grinned widely and talked fast, saying he ran straight into the ocean the moment his group reached the beach. Another laughed and admitted he got lost twice in the market but found a really good food stall because of it. A quieter contestant said he was nervous around so many people at first, but his teammates made him feel at ease. Someone else mentioned buying a small souvenir for his younger sibling back home.
Several contestants said they ate too much street food and did not regret it. A few talked about the photos they took and the places they explored. Almost all of them wished the day had been longer.
When it was Jung Taeyang’s turn for an interview, the conversation turned to what happened to him at Busan Tower.
"Are you feeling better now?" the interviewer’s voice asked from off camera. "How was your stomach?"
A faint pink crept onto Taeyang’s cheeks, but his expression stayed flat and composed. "Yes, I’m fine now. I just feel bad for my teammates. I almost cut their sightseeing short."
"The doctor said it was because you ate too much sundae," the interviewer’s voice said, clearly amused.
Taeyang cleared his throat. "Well, it was a very good sundae."
"When you rode the bus earlier, you seemed to forget to pay your fare," the interviewer’s voice said. "Was that your first time on a public bus?"
For a brief moment, Taeyang looked like he didn’t know how to answer that. But he quickly smoothed his expression back to normal, as if he hadn’t looked lost just seconds ago. "No, I have ridden one before. But that was a long time ago, when I was very young." He paused. "This will probably make me sound like some spoiled rich kid, but I just haven’t needed to use public transportation in a long time, and it completely slipped my mind."
After that brief interview with Jung Taeyang, the next person to appear on screen was Kang Haneul.
"Did you have a good time on your day off with your teammates?" the interviewer’s voice asked.
"Yes, I really did. It was my first time in Busan, and I’m glad I got to see how beautiful it is with my teammates," Haneul said with a smile. "Oh, and I really enjoyed the food too."
"You seem very observant," the interviewer’s voice commented. "You were the first one to notice something was wrong with Jung Taeyang-ssi while you were at Busan Tower."
"Oh." A shy blush spread across Haneul’s cheeks. "It wasn’t like that. I was just the closest one to him at that moment. If Robin hyung or the others had been standing near him, I’m sure they would have noticed it too."
The screen shifted to Han Seojun sitting in the interview chair. He looked a little stiff.
"So you and Choi Yujin-ssi seemed very close during the day off," the interviewer’s voice said. "You two spent almost the whole day together."
Seojun blinked. His fingers tapped once against his knee. "Ah... well. We were in the same group, so we just naturally stuck together."
The interviewer waited, as if expecting more. Seojun just smiled awkwardly and said nothing else.
Then it was Park Mirae’s turn. He sat with perfect posture, hands folded neatly in his lap, a warm and modest smile already on his face.
"I noticed you gave your portion of food to your teammates during lunch," the interviewer said. "That was very thoughtful of you."
Mirae tilted his head slightly, his expression turning soft and humble. "It was nothing, really. I wasn’t that hungry, and I wanted everyone to feel full and happy. We’re a team, after all."
His voice was gentle, his smile still modest. He held the same pleasant expression for several seconds after he finished speaking, blinking slowly as if waiting. The camera stayed on him. He did not drop the smile. A cheerful subtitle popped up at the bottom of the screen:
[Our very own Madonna!]
After a few more interviews, the scene shifted to a wide shot of the Busan coastline. The sky was soft and gray. A series of white text appeared one after another, fading in and out over the water.
[Time to say goodbye to Busan.]
[The Argo sets sail again.]
[But not everyone will be on board.]
[Only 40 contestants remain.]
[Who will make the cut?]
And that was how the fifth episode came to an end.
***
As expected, as soon as the episode ended, posts and comments about Boys Odyssey flooded every forum and social media site.
[I’m so happy for the boys. I’m glad they got to go around Busan.]
- Right? I thought they’d be stuck on that ship the whole time. It’s nice to see that’s not the case.
└ If that was really how it worked and they never let them leave the ship, that would basically be like being in prison. They already can’t even use their phones. If I was stuck in that situation, I’d probably go crazy.
└└ Same here. I would not last a week.
- Me too! Everyone looked so happy.
[Choi Yujin is so annoying. Why does he keep clinging to Seojun like that? Isn’t he an Omega? How can he be so shameless?]
- This! Did anyone else notice how uncomfortable Seojun looked every time Yujin pressed himself too close?
└ I saw it too. Even I felt awkward just watching.
- Choi Yujin should be thankful Seojin is a gentleman. If it was me, I would’ve pushed him off.
└ LOL how do you know Seojun wasn’t enjoying the attention?
└└ Are you serious? Or just not paying attention? You could clearly see Seojun holding himself back because he didn’t want to hurt an Omega’s feelings.
└└└ Oh, so you’re inside his head now? Are you Han Seojun?
- And here come the Alpha stans. Why are you attacking an Omega just for being too clingy?
[Is it just me or does Park Mirae come off as really fake?]
